- How to do a day trip to Bodega Bay? In this video, we share, what we believe is the best way to visit Bodega Bay, California.
There can be a lot to see and do in Bodega Bay, and if you only have time for a day trip, follow our itinerary. 🌊🥤
Bodega Bay is a two-hour drive from the Sacramento region, and less from San Francisco or the East Bay.
The drive along the Sonoma County coastline along Highway 1 is simply stunning! You cannot go wrong with anywhere you may pull over and have a picnic or enjoy the many free beaches along the drive.
We recommend a few spots to pull over and get a bite to eat in this video.

My favorite restaurants are The Boathouse for fish and chips and clam chowder or the Spud Point Crab restaurant if you get there early enough otherwise there is a very long line. Great video guys!

This makes me want to go to Bodega Bay! That Birds Cafe patio looks amazing. We ate the Tides, once, and while the view was amazing, the food was frankly mediocre. So many beautiful beaches...🏖🍷😎
Yeah, I said the food at the Tides was "good," as I didn't want to over-praise their food. The same can be said for all Birds Cafe as well. But, Spud Point Crab is really, really good! Less "Bling" in this video. Just tried to be more direct and helpful. Thanks, Diane!! 🥤

Coming to CA to visit our daughter. We were thinking of going to Bodega Bay this weekend. But are going to Santa Cruz instead. It is going to be 106 at her house in Oakley. So the beach we go. LOL.

10-15 farther down the coast there are a few private beaches for the 420 friendly people btw haha

No charge to park at Spud Point Marina. I have left my car w/o incident there for a week or more.
I've sailed into Bodega bay and driven through it, but never lingered for long. I will have to linger next time.

Hello. That's a tough question. Doran Beach Regional Park in Bodega Bay as well as Wrights Beach and Dunes Beach all have shower facilities because there are campgrounds. FREE? Not sure.
Nothing but crowds, standing in lines, unbelievable traffic. As long as you like traffic jams and standing in lines be sure and go there!
