Cool thing for me is I live in Alberta and recognize a lot of the locations they filmed in. They did such a great job with the sets and special effects. I was a little hesitant because Bella didn't look much like Ellie but she played the part so well it quickly didn't matter anymore.

I love that for once the actress looked different because she looked more like a child. I’m so tired of hollywood giving child roles to young adults that they dress more provocatively for some sort of bizarre sexual context.

@@cigh7445 hey fam. Literally every game pf thrones character is dead, probably. Idk i didnt watch the show. GOT has two constants: r@pe (bonus if incest) and murder
I think the key to Pedro becoming as famous as he did is the fact that his breakout character was pansexual and really cool and likable. Woman found him sexy, men found him sexy, straight men found him cool even those who wouldn’t typically be into a character who smashes hot dudes, lesbian women found him cool. So his character on GOT was enjoyable across the board from all people. And then add on top of that that he is a really likable, sexy, and cool guy in real life just like that character made people fall in love with this man even more. So happy he is included in that small bubble of actors who get cast in projects with money behind them. What I mean by that is…Hollywood decision makers generally keep selecting from the same pool of actors for male and female roles. It’s why Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and Tom Holland seem to be in literally everything. Because Hollywood knows a lot of people love them outside of the movie they are casting for and their past movies have done a decent job at making money therefore they keep going back for more.
Think it had more to do with him being a badass with a spear and kicking the mountains ass before he had his face squashed. Than his sexuality. Everyone with the sex this sex that.

I doubt you guys will see this comment since this video was uploaded more than a year ago. But I wanted to offer some additional insight to the final scenes in this episode when Joel gets stabbed, since I havent seen any of the other comments mention it. What happens to Joel here is NOT how it happens in the video game. If I remember correctly, he gets into a scuffle with one of the raiders while inside the building on the 2nd floor, and then crashes through the window and falls to the ground. They show Joels body impaled on a sharp, jagged metal pole that was sticking out of the ground, going all the way through him and sticking out through his gut. Ellie somehow manages to lift him off it and they escape with their lives (barely). I'm willing to bet the reason they changed that scene for the show is because they realized how ridiculously unrealistic it would be for a character to survive a fall and injury of that severity, and had to dial it wayyy down. Any other antagonist or side character surely would have bled out and died, but Joel is built different lol
I went to VR gaming place to play their Zombie game, it was terrifying. When it was all over I realized I wouldn’t survive a zombie or any apocalypse lol.
not to get all nerdy but that’s exaclty what happens in the game. joel gets to learn the ways of the infection as it’s happening but ellie is born into it and has to adapt immediately

Bella did an amazing job with the script she was given. Early on, I didn’t like the portrayal, but later on I realized that I didn’t like the direction of Ellie early on. Yes, she’s(Ellie) a teenage girl. Which they portrayed by having her taunt Joel after he literally threatened to kill her if she so much as twitches like an infected. That’s something a teenage girl would likely do. That’s not really something a post apocalypse teenage girl should do. That’s something Ellie would never do, because she’s way too smart to do that, too mature, and also wouldn’t do.
He and the crew behind the scenes started over a month prior to Bella, because of the shoot on the earlier timeline with Nico Parker as Sarah. Which meant they were already up and running like a machine when Bella arrived much later on set. So he felt bad for her coming in hot, without the grace period he and a lot of the crew had to get used to the world. He felt like everyone exept Bella got like a month of rehearsal time more than her. :)
