- Taking a look at the Allies Prism weapons from Red Alert 2 and the Spectrum weapons of Red Alert 3. Chapters posted below.
Edit: I forgot to mention the Yuri defense statues from the mission Escape Velocity, which function similarly to the Allies Prism Towers. So this could imply that Yuri managed to steal the Prism technology from the Allies in order to create these statues.

Soviets: We have Nuke Silo
Allies: We have Chronosphere with 9 Elite Prism Tanks
Soviets: *GG*
Hmm....Cuban missile crisis went wrong...For commies haha
lower but important tanks are the mirage tanks.
SOVIETS have Kirov😂
@@GorVala Lol, they are pretty OP, but I'm sure teleporting Prism Tanks can level a base faster than group of Kirovs, would be a good test for sure :)
@@skyvipers You can teleport kirov into enemy base. If you capture some us tech before.

There was this one story where they tasked soliders to get past a AI camera. One of them did cartwheels, one hid in a Box like Snake and the other grabbed branches and walked forward slowly. 😂

I was 13 when I started playing RA2 on my own after watching my dad play it. alongside Generals it was my favorite game of the time and boy do I remember the sheer devastation of the PrismTank.
“Magnifiers activated”
When I see the Prism Tank I remember one thing about Starwars. At the end of the Death Star lasers, there is actually a Kyber where the lasers meet, and that's what makes all the lasers turn into one main beam.
I thought it's pronounced Kaiburr?...
Oh man, I remember back in the early 2000s my Dad who's in his late 50s now showed me the prism tank meta.
Soviet: your technology are suck
Allied: OH REALLY
PRISM TANKS:So Anyway i started blasting
@@reginesaguin1191 Prism tank online
The prism tanks are so overpowered and always help me cheese my way through the missions. It's like a tank version of the Tal'darim's Destroyer ship in Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void. I wonder what a handheld Prism Rifle would be like in a C&C Renegade version of Red Alert. It's worth noting that this version of Albert Einstein has a longer lifespan than the real life one.
Mental Omega does explore this in the form of Siege Cadre, the cheapest siege unit you can get early on and exclusive to the Allies
They carry a compact Prism rifle that can take down buildings and fire through walls but their range is shorter than a prism tank and are vulnerable to magnetic weapons which slows them down due to their plate armor
If placed in an IFV, it becomes a bootleg Prism Tank
@@HungNguyen-vg1zqAnd depending on which sub-faction you play as, you might have a slightly tanky bootleg Prism Tank, anti-radiation & toxic bootleg Prism Tank or a really fast bootleg Prism Tank.
@@HungNguyen-vg1zq Not to mention the issue with power sources made it smoothly integrated the nerf applied to prism tanks. Logically, it made sense that the tower remains a big anti-ground defense because its hooked up to an ample source of power grid while the portable ones are more in seige & anti-infantry damage.
@@johndexterzarate6663 yeah, power supply is the biggest issue with prism technology, Prism tanks in Mental Omega are mostly relegated to demolishing buildings with slightly better effectiveness against ground units than Cadres
I like the red alert 3 version of the prism tank it has an accent.
First off, it's just the Mirage Tank armed with lasers and two, they're French... (smacks random Conscript with BAGUETTE!)

Hope you cover the Allies second big technology, Cryogenics!
I thought their second main tech was chrono-technology.
@@rokva5771 At least in RA3, the only thing like that is the Chronosphere and Tanya's belt.
The big second weapon is Cryogenics, with the Cryocopters, the orbiting cryo-satellite, the Cryo-Legionnaires and the fact that the punishment for War Crimes is to be put in Cryogenic suspension
Hey wash your hands before talking about the most disgusting tech FutureTech provided to the Allies!
Don't wanna be spreading that Cryonavirus everywhere...
@@Mobysimo Chrono Legionaries.. I always like them but man, i swear if they were put into any other game would of been pefect.
7:23 it’s worth noting that the footage they use for Tulum is in fact not Tulum but the Mayan city of Tikal. But in-game they made replicas of the actual buildings found at Tulum and recreated the geography around it as well.
Westwood was notorious for being geographically inaccurate(see Liberty Island in Lone Guardian), so color me impressed they got an entire Mayan ruin complex right.
@@louievelayo4100 yeah I was surprised how accurate the ruin layout was too
Science with Jethield
The best kinda science
Even though the Red Alert game for the iPhone is pretty obscure (and no longer available, unfortunately), I think someone confirmed that the events of the game are canon. The game's setting is post-Yuri's Revenge, and cause the Allies came out much stronger from the merging of timelines, Prism technology has advanced to the extent that it took Cherdenko messing with the space-time continuum to reset the progress made by the Allies.
The game recycles a lot of assets from Red Alert 3, but these reworked units used prism weaponry. The Legionnaire was a heavy infantry that wielded a prism beam weapon small enough for infantry to carry around (the sprite was reused from the Cryo Legionnaire). The Prism Tank was given an armor upgrade to resemble the Mirage Tank from Red Alert 3, but unlike the Mirage Tank, the Prism Tank could turn its turret to fire on its target. Lastly, the Ray Copter (using the Cryocopter model) is essentially a Prism Tank in flight, a helicopter gunship with a short ranged prism cannon. Based on these units, you can see how the Soviets got spooked into the development of their Time Machine, setting up the events of Red Alert 3.
Makes sense that they would have to be upgraded. The Soviets had superior industry and logistics before/during the events of RA2/YR. Also, they'd been preparing for their revenge for decades. The Allies were the underdogs who had to quickly improvise new battle plans and technologies to overcome them. If they went into a battle of attrition, they'd lose, so they had to plan quick attacks, sabotages and decapitation strikes. They needed a powerful siege unit to destroy the enemy's key structures quickly with just enough range to get past base defenses if Tanya/SEALs can't, and work well with the Chrono technology that was already on the way. Armor or even speed wasn't that important, and heavier armor would mean more load on such an experimental tank and could even make it unreliable to drive. And they'd need another kind of tank that would thrive in fast stealth operations and complement their slow fragile siege units.
Then the Allies won the war, so they could address the flaws in their own technology in peace. During the Post-War Crisis, they figured how to make their Prism Tanks more powerful against other tanks, and more durable without making their drive trains, transmissions or whatever unreliable. Also, they weren't the unprepared underdogs anymore, so they didn't feel the need to be stealthy (no Mirage Tanks).
I have been waiting for this one. I don't make suggestions, because this channel seems good about grabbing all the bits that can be compiled. Let the content never end.
And they got Generals after this.
Doe I kinda would like to see a "ingame review" of the modded factions from Red Alert 3, the Euro ones.

You never disappoint when it comes to CnC content. No one else is doing this and I’m glad you’re keeping it alive
Can’t wait for your video on The Empire of the Rising Sun, in my opinion they’re often overlooked by the legacy factions of The Soviets and The Allies.
my favorite faction in ra3 , the dual use of units that can transform was just ingenious!
kinda like Scions in BattleZone
Prism is perhaps my favorite energy powers in RA2. Prism tanks are certainly useful in long range attacks towards infantry and structures (a little more effective than on vehicles unless the Prism tanks are at an elite level) together with Mirage tanks that are effective against vehicles and infantry. That's how I did it.
If your prism tanks aren't stopping enemy armour, that just mean you don't have enough prism tanks!
@@commandoepsilon4664 Yeah...
As a certain Texan in a hard hat once said, "You just ain't doin' it right."

It's no wonder why the prisms tank was phase out of the RA3.
And this is why people from Multi-player was OP in skirmish.
Finally! Prism technology!!!
Nod: I got the Obelisk of Light!
Allies: Oh really! I got Prism towers! This tower fires not just to the target, but bounce to the other tower like a mirror!

Don't forget the Gap Generator to because it symbols as the first stage of stealth generator.
Nice work on this Lethal Allied Technology
I think u missed the yuri statue in the soviet mission, it sounds like a prism tower but idk if it's the same tech as the allied one
*SWEET STALIN!*
....Its a powered up disintegrating beam like the ones floating disks use.
i actually just stumbled upon these gems you call videos about the whole "lore" n stuff of c&c and im loving every one of them! i subbed :)
I always imagined prism weapons focused light into a single destructive point like a magnifying glass. Think like the original Martian Heat Ray that used a mirror and anything illuminated by it was outright incinerated (though that would fit more with the Mirage Tank's IR cannon)
That "personal helicopter" Ackerman tried escaping on is Marine One. You know, the helicopter that *every* president has flown on since they started using a helicopter.
just to be pedantic, every helicopter where the US president is in, is the marine one.
@@AlessandroRodriguez Yeah, like how any plane with the president on board is Air Force One.

Great video as Always can't Wait for video about tanks
Good to see a new video so soon.
Prism Tanks were easily the most broken unit in RA2; hell quite possible the most broken unit in all C&C.
Prism Tanks, Battle Fortress w/ Elite Guardian GIs, Harbinger Gunships, FutureTank X-1s, IFVs/Mutigunner Turrets w/ Cryo Legionnaires, *FORKING CRYOCOPTERS!*
Allies are forking *BUSTED!*
I love that you explained how light and lasers are different. By far the best c&c channel on CZcams
I missed the charm of wacky but incredibly creative weapons design made by Westwood studio. We won't have such a great classic RTS like these nowadays...
Once again a great video.
Science class and C&C lore? Let's go!
i have unpopular opinion : Prism Tower is way more terrifying than NOD Obelisk of light
Nod only learned to amplify the Obelisk in TW3, so yeah Prism Tower scarier!
The only reason I have to disagree with you is C&C Renegade... Running through a mission not knowing there was an Obelisk and then hearing it's charging up noise shook me when I played it as a kid. Otherwise past PTSD aside Prism Towers are scarier
love the channel, keep it up
"Panels charged."
They using X, and Y Axis targeting system to become Long range, and powerful. Beam or heat ray not a Lasser.
Soviets: Our Tesla technology is superior!
Allies: Let's shed some light on that subject.
At 3:10, it could also be that the Prism Towers are firing in the infrared wavelength of light. In this case the passage of the infrared laser would heat the air and produce white light from the hot air, if the laser was sufficiently powerful.
Nice video. 😊
The super weapon that comes out of Roosevelt's head in RA3 I dubbed 'The ultra-mega Roosevelt cannon'
That's my head cannon on the subject.....
I'll see myself out.
13:00 The ironic thing is that while Ackermann had a point (the Soviets did end up betraying the Allies after all), he also had a huge ulterior motive to keep the Allied and Soviet at each others' throats, what's with him being a Japanese android infiltrator being the reason for the lack of Attack Dogs in his base and thus why it's so easy to send Spies into it.
There's also the fact that when his helicopter is shot down, the wreckage produces green flames which is only seen when Imperial units are destroyed.
Okay, well it's true that there are no Attack Dogs around the Firebase but what about the ones at the Com Tower?
Can't wait to see each faction tanks video
My light bulbs aren't incoherent, I understand every word they say.
"Estimating distortion error."
I honestly thinknackerman in all camapigns was a robot spy
I mean...
Why was Marine One burning with green fire?...
This made me thinking. In RA1 Allies (which are esentially Western Europe) are quite backward with bunkers and turrets. Fancy toys like Phase tank or Chronotank are quite rare sight, chronosphere is useless. Circa 20 years later they managed not only to rebuild themselves, but also invent and popularize prism tech, chrono tech, stealth (Mirage Tank), weaponize weather AND create distinct units/structures. Sure, lots of that was thanks to certain Einstein, but still quite a feat.
Hot tamale! That's no pyramid, that's a prism cannon!
In C&C lore (different timeline), Kane somehow gets prism tower blueprints and turns them into obelisk of light.
Awesome vid. Can't wait for mirage tanks .edit i spoke too soon 😊 🤩
Could you elaborate about the Allies with their history, countries, structure, military doctrine, technological level, and the future of the Allies.
I think despite the professor not existing his brief history and physics in the RA3 timeline is what inspired future tech’s inventions
12:54 Apple Pie.
3:00 Classic RA2 Skirmish Map called Canyon Fodder
I had forgotten just how wacky the RA3 story way
One of the best tecnology in the allies arsenal,
Finally, my favorite siege unit.
the sound that the prism tower and prism tank produce is orgasmic
I recently found out about Mental Omega. An awesome and interesting alternative history of the Yuri's Revenge game. There's a ton more characters, lore, vehicle's and buildings. So that's plenty more videos for you 😄.
What about the Yuri laser turrets where they also reversed engineered from prism weapons'?
I can't wait for the Battle fortress and any possible way that behemoth could work
I just realized how funny it is that an alternate history scenario where the Soviet Union led by a red Romanov tries to destroy America led by a guy named Dugin.
My Favorite Weapons in the game :)
Jethild, have you do review on Mental Omega?
Have you considered using the Faction Selection sounds from RA3's Campaign Menu at the beginning to show what faction is being talked about?
do the apocalypse tank next after this one
“It will be a wasteland”
It showed great restraint to not show Jenny McCarthy as Agent Tayna during the Mt Rushmore explanation. Speaking of, I'm looking forward to the Commando unit explanation. (Both Tiberium Wars and Red Alert.)
We already had the Commandos in videos for both Nod's and GDI's Infantry.
Also I prefer Kari Wuhrer as Tanya, a blonde Tanya is just wrong(and the only thing wrong in Red Alert 3 for me).
*Focusing light energy!*
Any lore channel now
Prism tank really was a nasty piece of work
IRL, Extrema Ultraviolet Lithography uses the short wave length and high energy density of light created by the vaporization of Tin to fabricate circuits measured in Angstroms (1/10th of a Nanometer). If this could be scaled up to a energy level that could match the RR3 weapons systems it would make for a hellish weapon far more powerfull than the Microwave based systems deployed by the US. That being said, the directed energy weapons used in real life use Microwaves and Infrared light not Blue or Ultraviloate because higher frequance are effected by the Earths atmosphere. Where a Infrared system can penetrate clouds, a Violate based system would be blocked by a fog bank.
All that being said, if C&C:RR3's UV tech is powerful enough to overcome the interference of the atmosphere it would back orders of magnitude more energy into each shot than anything IRL. We are talking the energy needed to kick start Fusion in the National Ignition Facility.
If you use some clever cheats and train President in ra2, they make IFVs into some pretty amazing prism tanks.
Epic
Lets go video on my birthday🎉
Happy birthday!
Can you make a video about westwoods concept for cnc3 Tiberian incursion with cabal, forgotten and such?
I personally think the RA3 mirage-prism tank shoul have kpt the original prism tank chasis and turrest then added the miage generatng shield to the side
I feel like the prism and spectrum towers are almost backwards going off what we see in game and what I assume the lore you're basing this off is.
The prism tower in all your footage is showing a blue, maybe cyan beam so is a single wavelength as per your laser description.
The spectrum tower is apparently a laser weapon but then clearly shows a multicoloured beam which goes against your laser description. Also the name spectrum implies multiple colours, like a rainbow or Captain Scarlet.
I guess prism can also imply multiple colours with the whole white light in, colours come out but at least the visuals stick to a single colour.
the charge up is so Obelisk of NOD
Laser weapons go *Gundam Beam Rifle sounds*
GDI can't make Prism Tech without Einstein.
There's one thing bugging me is RA3:U. That you need to capture for FutureTech plans of spectrum tower and mirage tank, despite both being FT inventions.
SpectrumTech, CryoTech, the Chronosphere and the Proton Collider...
It's like FutureTech loaned them to the Allies... "Defense contractor!"
Unlike the real prism tower, the Soviet's Reverse Engineering version of it can be captured by Engineer.
Yeah I wish they kept the Prism tech in RA 3
I think it's not white, but a blue laser that prism tank used - blue is higher energy than green and red.
