Gallipoli was a horrific event but a necessary one. It planted the seeds for the independence of Turkey, Australia and New Zealand. When the ottoman empire fell it was that seed which led to the formation of modern turkey. Australia promised its people never another Gallipoli and in world war 2 despite the protested of the British Australian troops were called back from north Africa to defend their home against Japanese aggression resulting in the Kokoda campaign. It forged and even stronger bond between New Zealand and australia.
As much as I hate that it had to happen, Gallipoli was an important step in all of our nation's history and let us forge ahead in the future stronger than ever before.
May the dead rest in peace and let us hope they're proud of the world their sacrifice forged. Lest we forget.

Es triste pensar que en una sola playa se halla perdido tantas vidas, la gran guerra está llena de desastres militares de todos los bandos, como el Batallón perdido, o Verdun, y lo que me causa ironía es que el hombre tras el desastre de Gallipoli sería el responsable por la victoria en la batalla de Inglaterra como da vueltas la vida no jajaja

Así es, así dan vueltas las cosas y para mí después de tanta lectura, lo más promociones que conociendo los resultados, las pérdidas de vidas, las masacres y otros, seguimos en guerras inútiles, seguimos mandando a nuestros pares a morir por algo que se firmó o se discutió en un escritorio... Conociendo la historia, seguimos cometiendo los mismos errores y los repetimos generaciones tras generaciones. Es simplemente triste.
