@ErikThor How are we ENFPs confusing? Are we confusing to you? Are we confusing to other people? What makes us confusing specifically? 🤨

I definitely lucked out as an ENFP in what, ostensibly, is a desk job. I'm a supervisor for a department within an animation studio (builds, like 2D rigging), I get to manage interpersonal dynamics, uplift and train my teamates, communicate between departments, solve issues with the client, all with a hefty artistic bent and surrounded by some of the most marvelously eclectic folks. Chaos within a stable frame, precisely what you described here in this vid!👍

I just loved this. It really spoke to me. I am a collagist, a blogger, an activist, bohemian, relentlessly curious, surprisingly able to structure matters when necessary.
The key insight was that we need to live and accept our basic contradiction -- the yearning for home, for return -- juxtaposed against our restless hunger for the new. We are dialectical creatures, ambiverts. Venture forth, then sit with that experience for a time. Our brain will storm, but then its quiet, resting up for the next burst whenever that arrives.
We become conscientious and organized only in the service of our larger purpose. If there isn't enough purpose, we won't engage. But when we have a WHY there is little that can stop us.
Our ability to see into people and understand their motivations and their character is a great asset for that SI-TE builder. We know how to team people up. We seek where they would thrive. Everyone can pursue their WHY under the org's stewardship. We are communitarians. But we want solitude. Way too quirky for the 9-5 world, and the world benefits from that.

As an ENFP, to simplify us for other people to understand.
    Think of an INFP.
Now, give that INFP some drugs.
    There you go, ENFP!!!!

I'm an ENFP and I combined both freedom and stability by deciding what needed more freedom and what needed more stability. I decided that my career would be my stability focus and I would seek novelty and freedom outside of work. By careful balancing I could keep being happy with how things were going.

Thank you Eric, as a 57 year old female I can tell you I hate being the sheriff. When I become the sheriff it's because I have typically determined something, very disturbing and it does come to us immediately and quickly. It's frustrating when it is right there for us but others are so far behind especially when it's something that could help someone. It's so frustrating that it makes me want to run away and just isolate because I see what's happening with people but they can't see it the group can't see it so you feel like an alien wondering how you know these things and they can't see them. I think it's a blessing and a curse. It's fascinating to sit back and watch everything play out that you knew was already going to happen that was horror and Dread sometimes knowing if only they would have listened. Anyway thank you for a great video I truly appreciate your understanding out of us complicated enfps. I think the reason we become the sheriff most times is because we truly want to help people and if we can somehow help people see the bright light that all of our rays are pointing to. It's so frustrating too because we can help others so easily so quickly I believe if they could see what we see. I am ranting as an elder in my family, I am ready for people to take some of the medicine that's needed and grow up. I absolutely love being playful and I think it's because I understand life, it's beautiful and challenging, there are obstacles around every corner but if you can go with the flow, for me it's with God, then just let's do this thing and be kind I don't get it I'm frustrated. Rant over

Erik, you literally have the answers for questions I didn't even know I had 😄 Honestly, the other day I was driving around my old neighborhood, past my school and everything, reminding me how nostalgic I can get and how much change can actually bother me. And it blew my mind, I was thinking how weird is it that I place such a great value on things like tradition and the past and still want things to always be new and fresh and exciting. I am literally haunted by that conflict of old stuff versus new possibilities. It's so contradictory and perhaps the reason I (or us ENFPs) are so restless at times. My point is, it's just amazing how much you get the types exactly right. You ask spot-on questions, you often have the empathy or intuition to know the answer. This video is a great example. The topic of ENFPs being kinda torn between stability and change, this is something no other source has explained as well or even as thorough as you have. You are hands down THE source for everything 16 personalities. Keep it up, regards from Austria!

I have noticed the switch from Ne to Te can be challenging to people. It does sort of have an aggressiveness to it in that there is a sudden intensity to accomplishing something. It seems to freak people out when this switch occurs because it is different from our feeling sensitivity that is generally the mode people see us in. I only use the Te towards objects and not people or sometimes in objective problem solving with people.

Loved hearing you describe the Ne/Te loop, In my past I would dislike someone and then lure them into saying something to provide social evidence for my dislike and this fits perfectly with what you describe. Luckily I’ve moved away from that loop and am working toward the Ne/Fi mode with stability from my back seat Te/Si

The end about the balance of freedom and stability is what I've been explaining to everyone in my world for so long! I CRAVE stability, so I can have the freedom that I need, but it's imperative that I also have an outlet in order for me to feel like I'm either learning something new all of the time or able to connect with someone deeply about their experiences (which I guess is still under the umbrella of learning something new by gathering info on said person, then making connections from past experiences).
I feel as if my comment may be confusing lol. Oopseys if so. Loved the video!

I pretty sure that I’m an Enfp. I can sound like a detective, a scientist, a life coach, a entrepreneur, sometimes I’m a bit of a comedian, and I can question people like a lawyer. Well the lawyer part is probably, because my great grandfather was a district attorney. That’s the only explanation, that I have for the lawyer part. 😂 I also really luv dancing, 💃🏻 to my favorite songs. But it’s more spiritual. It’s a way to be one with myself. The dancing that is. I remember a lot of information. I have idea 💡 after idea. I’m an optimist. However I can be sceptic as well. Especially with bad people. Well it’s almost always, with bad people, or people who aren’t considering the impact; that they are making, by choosing to be selfish. That can infuriate me as well. I love people, but to much attention can be a bit much. I get a little tongue tied with confrontation. I start to mumble or get a little nervous. I love love helping others. It’s just as long, as they are decent people. I love rescuing the down in out as long, as they won’t use projection afterwards. Because hurting people hurt people. I love 💕 good vibes. 😎 And lastly; unless I change my mind ,😂 and decide to add another. Lastly, I have a lone wolf side to my Fi. Love your channel Eric Thor, because you are an inspiration, and very informative. I work tirelessly to finish my writing ✍️, forgetting to eat. I can sometimes by a hypochondriac. Here I go again. 😂 It’s only when I’ve never experienced something before, then I tend to overreact a tad bit. That is when it comes to being a hypochondriac. But if I’ve experienced it before I don’t overreact. Like a migraine. Ok, thanks 🙏 awesome 🤩 channel.

Great video! I prefer to watch infjs and intjs talk about enfps more then fellow enfps. Just wondering if in your relationship with an enfp's if you've ever talked about dreams when sleeping? I personally as enfp used to dream alot as a child and had many bouts of dejavu .. it's like they faded away completely. The last 10 years or so I literally quit having dreams at night. The research I've done many sources have said that a majority of dreams are your minds subconscious way of processing emotions and fears. Enfp as you get older you become very quick at getting to the root of not only yourself but other people's emotions and fears. Fear is probably considered an emotional response.... Any way. Occasionally I will have thoughts come up in my mind when I'm sleeping but there always practical and no different then the thoughts I have when I'm awake. Just wondering if any other enfps can relate to this? We tend to have very high eq and although it's nice to express our emotions at time it's more to vent then it is to recieve feedback. We aren't completely fearless but we take logical approach to fear. What are the chances something extremely bad will happen statistically or emotionally. Should I fear it due too logical level of risk involved. If yes we know why we fear it. We are completely attached to the physical world and therefore we no longer need to process these things abstractly because we have already done so logically?

    Let's vet this:
    "...prove..."
I totally understand what you mean.
    BUT!
"Prove" tends to have a negative/biased connotation.
I think/sense what you intend is:
    "...verify..."
    And/or:
    "..Demonstrate (Objectively *&* Subjectively)..."
    &/or:
    "Convince *via* proof."
    🤔

I've been reading and researching everything I can get my hands on about the Ukrainian war. I've been listening to every Country's world news obsessively to see what's fact, opinions, ect... I've become a journalist for the 3 months straight. I'm stuck in the mud in Ne/Te loop and can not get out untill this war is over, I fear.. instead of an enneagram 2 7 9, I feel like I became a 5. As an infp with ADHD I love enfps and can be friends but they tire the fuck out of me, like please give me some slack. I'm already trying hard to communicate my thoughts and feelings and you bombard me with more questions and pressure while you don't give me any answers, information or specific ideas yourself. I love and appreciate you but for the love of god (-me, an atheist), have some patience and can we have a slower pace than a thousand miles per hour? *Per favore*
