I checked Numista for that 1960 Jersey penny. It commemorates 300 years since Charles II's accession to the throne. I watched the vid all the way through. There was loads of info on rare coins, so I'm going to go through all my penny collection looking for the key dates! 😁

Yeah that is a 10 centisimo from Italy what year did you say well anyways it was Victorio Emmanuelle the II , Anniversary coin my from Charles Ii To Queen Elizabeth The Ii . By the way I do love Edward The Second. You need not worry about speeding it up I was having a good time watching this.plus I wasn't sure about the Anniversary coin if it was Jersey Baliwick , or a Guernsey. My phone rang and I missed some of what you said about it and there was one coin which had some wear to it but while you were showing it you thought it didn't have a dot between The O and N but when you turned it to the light you could see a faint dot there !!! GaryBailey Thanks. For an awesome video, it was great and fun and informative and interesting all

Hi Paul, l really enjoyed watching, observing and listening to your video's, they are always so full of knowledge regarding the coins, . I love your video's as a relatively new collector, (around 3 years now) coins really do fascinate me, plus the history of them, l love history, always have, but with coins comes the history of Kings and Queens throughout history, which l find fascinating too, l enjoy the knowledge you share regarding the details on coins, which l note down on paper, thank you very much for these video's, if you don't mind me asking where do you get the old blue coin collecting albums with the year and mintage on them, l have tried looking online but nothing comes up. Thanks again.

Yep, I love Edward VII - I can tell you so much about my pennies found in Ireland - metal detecting!
I've found more UK pennies that Irish pennies. Talking of Irish, I think the 1968 also has a bit of missing chick variety.
I rather enjoyed rooting out all my pennies - many too worn to date. I have found a spot where I retrieve many UK pre-decimals, mostly pennies as they seem to survive best. These are all beach finds - some really worn, some show off enough to maybe show the missing tooth, as I mostly find KGV pennies!
My first UK penny, I think, was a QV 1899 - in a stream, on the clay base. It is in pretty good shape!
Anyway... soon my comment will be as long as your video, which I enjoyed! Cool, the other coins you found... even a South African! Lastly, is it my imagination or - many of the early decade KGV - is his bust ghosted on the reverse??
Thanks... I'll go on now... and try and build a date run too... imagine in a few years time... someone finding my collection of worn coins and tossing it into the furnace to make a copper bar!

Like wise scrolling through eBay I found that there are genuine 1970 pre decimal coin sets. I am lucky to have an example of every penny date including H and KN ones from 1860 to 1970 except 1933!!! I envy you Brits. You had wonderful coins in that period. Anything from the commonwealth holds my interest. Nice baggie if it can take that load of pennies. 1000 half dollars weighs 25lbs. I’m searching for silver with no luck yet. If I put ten duds in my pocket it buys my breakfast sandwich. They say we have a coin shortage, Covid related. We don’t have a shortage. People just won’t use halves and dollar coins.
As a schoolteacher I would also explore the duodecimal system by relating to British coins. I was in England for a year during conversion to decimal. Leaving Britain a burly Scot stopped me demanding to know how much British currency I was leaving the country with. I pulled a tuppence and ha’penny from my pocket. £0.025. Good retort for a poorly dressed hippy.

French currency circulated in the Chanel isles until 1834 when English silver took over, a pound was equivalent to 26 French £ivres of 20 sous each, so the Jersey 'Penny' was initially until 1877 fashioned as 1/13th of a shilling and equal to 2 French sous. From 1877 it was 1/12th of a Shilling and the old 3d was 1/4th of a shilling. The silver was standard UK silver.

i like the coins with holes because people used to wear their money on their necklace so it was harder to steal - so it really feels like a bit of history to see one

At 59:51 you might have a rare 1944 penny if the waves do not touch the baseline - which I don’t think they do, looking at the picture
