For once the software has caught up to the hardware - almost! Very excited for this update, though it certainly took long enough for these updates to come.
As an android/windows kind of guy I am jealous. Apple did a great job on this.

@@hwstar9416 No, it is there. Both wired and bluetooth ones are supported now in both iPhone and iPad. The cursor needs improvement though, but good enough for an early beta.

No, instead it's a worse replacement for a laptop that doesn't have something as basic as an actual file system and has a shit load of convoluted steps that add nothing more than "add more windows". Basically, a blow up ipod that bends like a warm candy bar. Hard pass, bud.

So you trying to say can import files form an external storage device like SD or a external drive over USBC? No, I thought not. Again, glorified iCloud folder and apple have the audacity to lie and call a computer.
Again, where's the logic in opting for something with worse features, outdated features that are there, and is not going to replace a laptop purely for the fact it doesn't include the basics AND which doesn't want to cannibalize sales of actual computers, say, like a macbook air for 1k. Again, this thing is niche on its few merits and entirely pointless in its ambitions. Sadly, it didn't occur to apple that the tablet fad died a couple years after the iPad 2, which is subsequently when the copied and pasted each iteration with the usual bare minimum you'd expect. As you could clearly see, doing some research on tablet sales, interests with the presence of larger phavlets and better computers have correlated with a steadily declining market presence for tablets, and the price is possibly an attempt to damage control/ break even to get away with selling less, not as an actual reflection of performance and/ or quality- as the durability will no doubt attest.
Why people defend this I don't know. Tablets have always been a bit media first and foremost and based on that, yeah, maybe it is a nice tablet but it's also stupidly overkill and underwhelming in every other aspect. The fact the same apps for professional computers like the mac app store aren't there is the bigger issue and flaw in the computer argument, afterall it is only as good as its software. Unfortunately I dotn want a watered down version of fully fledged software as a short term solution.

You didn't mention mouse support, and that was the biggest thing for me. Absolutely LOVE all the changes made to iPad software. Amazing WWDC.
They made it an accessibility feature, rather than a generic feature aimed at everyone. Everyone can use it but I just find it weird that they wouldn't push it as one of iPad's key features for pro users.
@@VibrGames There's probably some intricacies of iOS that's meant to be used with touch, as opposed to a mouse. They probably didn't tout it as a feature because it may not work 100% in all use cases.

I am laughing hard by seeing your happiness for adding mouse support, bcs three days before my 4.5years old Alcatel phone's screen broke n touch screen stopped working and i just attached a mouse and copied all the file to new mobile, you know what is the funny thing? My phone is almost 5years old,

The syncing between MacOS and iPad OS to make it a secondary TOUCH display is absolutely mind blowing. That is huge if you live in the Apple Ecosystem.
This might be what gets me to start using Apple products

@@FERGIOH2010 I'm a big fan of it being supported in the OS as it has much more potential, I can see this leading to macOS getting multitouch which could help a ton for graphics applications. Was waiting for MS to enable hooking up a Surface Pro to a workstation in a seamless manner as I've used them for 4yrs, but I've lost my hope.

Is anyone else actually impressed with what Apple did here? We've gotten so used to being disappointed, we're usually lucky to get half the features on most people's wishlists, but for once it seems they've addressed almost all of them. Dark mode, volume indicator, full websites on Safari, access to on-device file system, multiple app instances, more homescreen info, mouse support, and more.

Dorks. I'm an android guy( s10+) and yes i own an iPad Pro and no it doesn't bend it's very nicely built and was one of the major selling points for me.
I'll admit I hate Apple, never had any use what so ever for an iPhone, iPad or iMac, but this new iPad OS and iPad Pro combination is something I think I could honestly use as a creative tool, I might go get one.
My keyboard was sequestered to the bottom left corner after downloading the os13 beta. Seeing you “gesture” open, saved me from fruitless research and frustration. Thank you 😎

@@geontz Fyi, without a sample song or album (U2 in this case) in the music app, my car's Aux doesn't recognize my phones audio files. It wouldn't recognize apple music or Spotify. This happened when I jailbroke and I didn't have anything downloaded in my music app. It probably has nothing to do with the free album but it's interesting to note lol

You should try Lumafusion. It's supposed to be the desktop-class video editing software on iPad. I'm sure it couldn't do all the things you do on the Mac but at least it should cover 80% of your needs

Lumafusion is great and better than any other app for iPad for video editing, but for the type of videos MKBHD does and the size of files, nothing will top Final Cut Pro on a desktop

Marketing strategy.
Their strategy. Come fashionably late to the party so you stand out when you finally arrive. Even if what your wearing isn't much different, the timing makes you seem more impressive and innovative.
That's one view. The other view is that Apple will release features that are already common, but only when it seems to smoothly work in their eco system and proprietary products. Some developers do release things seemingly as soon as it works and spend years updating bugs. Apple basically/accidentally fell into "observation mode" to see what's working, how people respond, what the demand is, then release their own way of doing it when it feels right or when the "desire" for those features have died down so when they come out with it, fans are like "AAH APPLE YOU DID IT AGAIN...INNOVATION AT ITS FINEST"
Either way, what they've done here, looks pretty awesome even though others have been doing it. They've done a great job at least from what we're seeing in this video.

@@aminzarei8078 Did you not see me say get a SURFACE PRO tablet? A tablet is supposed to be MORE useful than a phone. At at this point the iPad is a tablet that is not. It is a larger device that is less useful than my Galaxy note 9 phone. I can literally do more with my phone including turning the Note into a desktop with Samsung DeX. People want their tablets to replace their laptops otherwise what is the point of carrying around a large ipod touch? Or larger version of a phone? The surface pro does that and is ONLY 3mm thicker than the iPad. And the battery life is more than enough to get you through school or work day. And if your day is longer than normal, than that is what a charger is for; use it. You cannot keep using "the iPad is thinner" as an excuse to keep choosing it over the better competition. That less than 3mm difference in thickness is still no logical reason to get an iPad over something else in the tablet market. Expecially when it STILL does not have true desktop functionalities, like something such as the surface pro. Which DOES replace my laptop other than using if for heavy gaming or 3D CAD design.

Looking forward to this! I currently use Duet Display to use my iPad Pro as a second screen for my Mac. It works really well and was created by ex Apple engineers, but I wonder if this will be better.

@BTICronox I have SP4 too, it's a great laptop, but windows 10 as OS for tablets is awful. Additionally, you cannot compare the SP4 pen to the apple pencil.
BTICronox Don't forget Android. Yes, unlike the surface, its a mobile OS before its a desktop OS, but Android has had a lot of features that iPad OS is only just introducing - such as the mouse support.

The actual advancements for the iPad models in iPad OS are incredibly impressive with the laptop-quality browser with the downloads manager like Safari, the widgets, the side-by-side apps are awesome, even the same app on the divided screen, the powerful processor is working at its best level with all the originally developed for the iPad models apps from the App Store, the iPad as the full-time workstation is starting to get better, the Apple Pencil Support in Notes, the Penbook App are absolutely incredible with all the available features for the engineers, content creators, programmers and the professionals for the work! Thanks for the great video! iPad Pro is an incredible workstation with tho professional functions included in iPad OS from Apple and it is great to see the WWDC news on your CZcams Channel!

@Nate DS - Firstly, the update is still in beta so it’s only recommended for developers. But you should be getting the new update once it officially rolls out. Just google search iPadOS compatibility to be sure. It doesn’t matter if you have WiFi or cellular versions.

Have a 10.5 iPad Pro and just updated to the public beta. I’m getting the new iPad Pro in a couple of months. Got to say iPad OS is definitely a welcome improvement. For a beta the OS is surprisingly smooth, quick, just some minor glitches while downloading apps, and the new features are to borrow your word stellar. I’ve also notice video playback improvement on apps like CZcams over 12.3.1 on my device. Still exploring all the new features. Yeah iPad users will be very pleased come September.

5:30 i swear to god this is a game changer in the drawing tablet industries. With how good apple pencil compared to a $3000 wacom cintiq. I can see artists uses this as their main driver.
I've always hated apple for their pricing but the graphics tablet market makes this a different story.

If you’re paying $3K, you’re paying for the screen real estate. As nice as the Apple Pencil is, it can’t compare to a 24 or 32 inch screen.

@Asbjørn you know how once upon a Time web developers had to add in specific lines just fix basic html functionality in Microsoft's IE? Well since then Apple has picked up the "we don't really give a shit about standards" flag and require a whole bunch of specific crap added to fix rendering on anything running safari.
Tldr: Apple don't care about standards and as such developers have to keep their horrible products working for them.
@Asbjørn and as a consumer you shouldn't if the web developer has done a good job.
If you want to learn more there are plenty of "developing for mobile" "developing for safari" specific guides that can teach you some of the gotchas without needing a developer background. The biggest issue is the behaviours changes with every version of every system, even plain old webkit.

I also replaced my MacBook Pro with the iPad Pro (2018) for the mobile device I pack for travel. I use Rush and Lightroom CC (mobile) for much of my preliminary work. Then I move the interim work up to the iMac. The apps Rush and Lightroom CC don’t have all the features I want, but with the very fast chip on the iPad Pro (2018) I get a lot of work done quickly. I can’t wait for the iPad OS (13) to be generally available. Thanks for the review.

@@themercifulguard3971 I mainly use Android now but this iPad will be a great tablet with this update. This update totally gives Samsung's Tab S4 a run for its money, and I'm a big Samsung fan.

As a professional that’s used Wacom tablets, I personally feel the iPad Pro is now better
i use it to sketch and then colour it in photoshop kinda works for me

Well it depends if you think form > function. I only bought iPad for Pro Create so honestly I accepted all its limitations to get a better digital illustration experience than a Wacom tablet. But I’ve been using after effects since 2006 & I doubt its coming to iPad in the next (x) years
