You definitely had more tank in the gas, Craig! Nice work, mate. Movin' on up the ladder, my man! 💨💨💨
Hey Fil! Could resist getting your catch phrase in there!! I have taken a huge step forward today and with the wheel swap (and pinion/spur swap) 40 is coming baby 🙌🏻
Oh Craig!!! You are getting closer but still more bugs in the system, your luck has got to change - and covid, too - another setback! But cool you found the issue, with Covid behind you and some decent weather I reckon we will be neck and neck!! Not sure if my car has any tank left in the gas, fingers crossed and the best man wins!!! Hope you feel better soon, dude! 🤞🤞😎👍
Hey Mark, I am getting closer every time but you keep ahead of me pal!! I have thrown everything at the chassis for the next run. It is kitchen sink and tank empty! If I don’t break 40 this time round something will be on fire or in pieces 😁
I am still gunning for you matey 💪🏻
Come on Craig you can do it bro. Plenty more battery in the electric😅😂 Great stuff matey.
😂🤣 Only problem I have is when it comes out and fires my ESC!! I think we are going to be close next run
Oh Craig not only have you got to put up with smug Mark Bryan you have to put up with Covid too! Great effort and definitely progress. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a speedier car 😁👍
Hey Pete, I was hoping to get closer to him but it was not happening today!! Too many things going against me out there but I am all in on the next run which likely be my last in the quest to beat Mark 💪🏻🙌🏻
I’m sorry that you and your family are sick Craig; hopefully you all recover quickly!🙏
The return of your original wheels should help, without that binding taxing your electronics!
Looking forward to seeing you break that 40mph barrier!👍😊
Hey Jeremy, thanks for your wishes pal 🙌🏻 The wheels have made a big difference and I feel that 40 is calling next run out 🤘🏻
Yeah, man, you got tank in the gas, hit it tomorrow and hit it hard!
Bummer with the Covid, I hope your whole family manages to recover and get back to normal life.
Yeah, I had same issue with those wider rear foam tyres, I ended up putting some wider hex adapters to keep them from rubbing...
For me, it's pretty much same deal, haven't had time to do the speedruns, now the weather is crap, and I just gotta man up and give it its final run, hope for no fires or crashes, ha ha!
At least with the rain and wind the fire goes out quicker Mads!!
I was looking for some hex extenders but can’t understand how they work as there is no room left on the hub?? I have just gone back to the other wheels. I want 40mph so bad today!!
get well soon mate . i had the same issue with my gt tuned motor . brush has slipped . keep on going 😊👍
Cheers Dom! I am wanting 40mph so bad I hope I get another crack before the week is out 🙌🏻
Damn, Covid again mate??? Tough luck my friend, hope everyone feels better soon!!!! Great job on the PB!!!!! 1,800 Mah 8.4 volt 7 cell pack? That's very low number dude.... Guys are having great luck with a GULP, Traxxas 7 cell pack, you'll have to change the connector though. Solder the esc to motor wires and keep the wires about 3 inches long, unless you wanna use the esc in other kits then use 4mm banana plugs in the middle of the wires...
On the mend now pal. I feel there is loads of things to try for next year but I am close to tapping out on 2023. Final runs this week will either nudge me closer to Mark or something is going to give up 😂🤣
No fires, and you’ve got room to improve in this last week. Hope ya all start feeling better
Hey Thad, I was so pleased to get a clean run with no fires and a new PB 🤙🏻
Keep going! I hope you and your family feels better!
Cheers pal. We nudge ever closer to a higher speed!!
Nice car and great runs 👍👍👍😀
Cheers dude!
Crappers Craig! You’re so close to catching that pesky Mark😝. What ever tricks you got left, you better use them ! This competition is coming to an end, and I’ve never seen Mark squirm! Would love to though, just to say I Did as well as for great entertainment!😝😂👊🏼🙌🏼🍻
Hey Robbie, it has potential to catch up but I am sure Mark has some tricks for his final runs too!! He is still running those Rally Blocks too and I have been on slicks and foams and all sorts.
He is like that kid at school who had to run in their uniform and shoes and still beat everyone 😁
😂@@theoagrc
Covid sucks.... take care man.... hope your next run adds a few (large few) mph!!😊
Hey Glenn, thanks brother!! I need a longer runway somehow. I feel the car is still accelerating when I am running out of room. Finding an idea run spot is half the battle with the challenge!!
Nice runs. I wasn't aware that ESC has a aluminium Case...
Good to see it works good.
I hope you and your family get well soon again.
Cheers Tom! I am hunting down all those above me now dude 😁 There is still some on the table here 🤘🏻
@@theoagrc so the last week still has something in it. Let's see what is possible
@rc_tom we’ll see after tomorrow….
Nothing on fire is a great improvement. It is odd the rears were rubbing, I had no issues with rubbing on the rears with the 30mm tries. I almost ran them on the front too but I would have had to cut a tiny bit (maybe 1mm) off the inside of the wheels to avoid them from rubbing up front. I am glad you got it sorted and that is a much better spot to run at this time too! Go ahead and toss whatever you got at it and give it a rip!!
Hey Addam, I thought I had it all clear also and was surprised it caught. But there was definitely some binding from that once I had them off and the other on. Who knows how much that was costing me in terms of speed?
Hopefully we’ll find out today. I am going to go all out for the next run and see if we can beat 40mph and get closer to Mark!
Hi Craig, it’s a shame that you didn’t reach your expected top speed. It’s all in the little details. Go for the spur and pinion change, see what happens next 😊best wishes and get well soon. 😊😊
Hey John, thanks for the encouragement brother 🙌🏻 Problem is we are running out of weather 🤣😂
Nice runs sir!🤜🤛
Cheers brother 🙌🏻
Good run!
Cheers Mauzy! 🙌🏻
37 was great! Excited to see you rip into the 40's now.
Nice one dude 🙌🏻 Watched you guys rip it up earlier! Those vintage motors and ESCs are the best 😎😎🔥🔥
@@theoagrc Yes our motor is a 8 Turn single. I was lucky and found it on Ebay for 30 bucks.
@TeamJunkYardDog amazing find!!! They don’t make them like that anymore!
Wow Craig.... 37.....your on fire now mate! 🤣 😂 🔥
Sorry bud, couldn't resist!
Firstly hope you, mini and the wife feel better soon.... you certainly don't get the best of luck do you mate?!
Certainly going in the right direction now, she seemed fast, and very controllable (unlike our turd on wheels, I have never been a fan of the TT02..... and will be very pleased when I never have to drive one again! 🤣)
You've definitely got more tank in the gas I would say, especially without rub a dub wheels on the rear!
Best of luck in your last mission fella, give it all she's got!
Been trying my hardest to kill our one, but the bloody thing just won't die.... latest run was a complete disaster, as you will soon see. 😉
But hey, regardless of where we all finish, the main thing is that we have all had a blast! 🤣
👍 👍 👍
Hey James, I deserve the bants pal after giving you so much stick about that kerb 😂🤣
I feel like the underdog in this mid back battle to 40+. If I get there I did not take the easy path to victory that is for sure!!
I think this project has shown how quick brushed motors can be but also how good the old school tech was vs todays modern motors.
I wish someone could get back to making some quality, fast brushed motors for us to play with.
These LRP ones are pretty good but not a patch on the vintage models unfortunately.
Look forward to seeing the next Greenhawks run pal! Good speed brother 🤙🏻
@@theoagrc
It's all good fun mate, and all very much tongue in cheek bud! 🤣
You have done well mate, its certainly had it's experimentation and challenges on the way though that's for sure!
Always have to remember Mark, Rob etc have a few years of wisdom and experience on us slightly younger models! 🤣
Rob has wiped the floor with us, but a well deserved win for him!
Mark was also a very worthy opponent with you, he put up a great fight!
We have an esc card on its way to re calibrate the power/delivery and up the timing on the motor, as well as foam tires and larger pinion..... Just not sure if they will get here on time!
Still desperate to beat Pete Wylie's 51,i hit a 49.7 yesterday (and some trees and a few ditches! 🤣)
We will see, the cars in a bad way now and the front end geometry is very wonky!
I agree with what you say about the brushed motors, I'm definitely a brushed guy myself.... all this brushless malarkey is far too unnecessarily complicated!
I was always against Lippo's as well, but after playing about with them a bit over the last year, I won't be going back to NIMH 's.... Unless it's something vintage and a lipo won't fit.
Just spraying the vintage Astute today, getting the last of the painting jobs done before the cold damp winter!
Look forward to seeing your final and best time Craig.
👍 👍 👍
@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC That is why I refuse to jump to the dark side. There will be no way back for me and it will also open up a whole world of faster more expensive models…. 🤔
@@theoagrc
"Jooooiiiiin the Daaaarrrkside" 😂
It's fun over here dude, this 3s thing is off the radar!!!
I just put it in the general lee (fazer mk chassis, 14turn brushed motor)
And just got 35mph out of it.... Totally stock!! 🤣 😂
👍 👍 👍
I think you need a longer run. Go as far as you Dan away from you, stay in it as long as you can and do this on a fresh battery and I bet you get 40 mph. 👍. I would also get some battery connectors that don’t have so much resistance. Maybe leeward the battery too.
Glad you are staring to feel better!
Hey Brian, I think I am going to invest in some new batteries and chargers for next season. I am planning to give this a few more bashes to get to 40+.
Glad i didnt need to whip the fire extingisher out 😁 weathers my enemy now aswell, still need to do my next run with the new motor and pinion, i’ll get past mark i think 😁
Everyone is gunning for him like he’s the pantomime villain 😁 He has kept most of us UK guys at bay the whole two months. Will he make it until the end though???? Thanks for being on stand by with the extinguishing dude 🙌🏻
@@theoagrc hopefully i can get a break in the weather 🤞
I understand what you mean you felt like you left something out there. I felt the same way until I took all she had left.
Please tell me it was worth it brother 🙌🏻
Annoying when it's little caise and big effect. Best wishes for your next run Craig.
Cheers Dirk! 40 is next pal! I can feel it
40 MPH here we come!
It is so close I can taste it!!
Don't get to close, it might taste like Asphalt.@@theoagrc
@JoevsRc 😂🤣
Should be 40+ next time 🤞Take care 👍
I hope so dude!! It is so close I can almost taste it 🙌🏻
Can I use the liberty 100% synthetic lubricant in the bearings and the differential??
Hi Michael, no idea I am afraid. I use a lubricant for bearings specifically and then use general grease on the gear train from a hobby store. Good luck 🙌🏻
@@theoagrc I confirmed I should use either red and tacky grease or white lithium on the gears inside the diff housing. Not the liberty oil. That liberty oil is good for the sealed bearings I have and steering, hubs etc. not gears.
