    I decided to take creatine for a month because there were no really good videos demonstrating what effects creatine could have on you. I think it really did boost my strength and gave me a better aesthetic look.

    Creatine is not only good for gaining muscle - it is great for long distance sports like running and cycling as it aids recovery from your longer training efforts (by aiding repair after muscle breakdown, same as it does in strength training) and also gives you a fire in the engine for interval sessions and such. For people worrying that is an unnatural supplement, our bodies make creatine naturally. We are just giving it a little extra with supplementation. Take it!

    • @demitrivavaroutsos4141
      @demitrivavaroutsos4141 Před 2 lety +33

      People doing long distance it can cause cramping. Creatine gathers lots of water in your muscles and can cause imbalances in electrolytes, and hydration. Creatine is good for lifting and sprints.

      @@demitrivavaroutsos4141 Agree that it’s suited for explosive movements though. But that also translates to interval repeats on the track and also for other sports like soccer. I can’t tell you how many times creatine saved me late in a soccer game when I was very tired but needed to make an all out sprint for the ball. It just gives you an extra turbo boost in those scenarios. I always felt the absence when I didn’t take it. Aside from explosive benefits, it has also been shown to aid muscle repair and this will help long distance runners to repair the muscle damage from long runs. Every serious athlete should be taking this IMHO.

    I took 3 grams of creatine everyday for 9 months and one thing for sure is that it works. What I learn is lift heavy to take advantage of the current situation your body is in, also drink plenty of water because leg cramps while on creatine are stronger and longer. I had a post ache for about three days, so drink that h20. Now that I’m off creatine the only thing I loss is stamina, but the strength is still there. I’m a high rep gym rat. Overall creatine is awesome if you want gains, but you have to put in the work, or els it’s pointless.

    I also started to take creatine about 7 days ago, and I actually have been getting way more reps out of all my sets and felt a lot more endurance with my workouts almost right from day 1. I too thought this was just placebo, since I did not do any loading phase. I just started with a consistent 5mg per day dose. However, judging from my strength gains over the last week, and increased reps, I highly doubt it's all mental. Edit to say, don't worry about hair loss. I took Creatine a lot in my youth, and never experienced this. Also the gains you're seeing in this month of creatine use is probably from the water retention that the supplement brings to your muscles. It tends to make your muscles look fuller and round right quick just from water retention. It's not a bad thing, as it's keeping your muscles hydrated, but it's not from pure fiber growth. Yet.

    Creatine helps increase the phosphocreatine levels in your muscle tissue. When you contract your muscle(perform a repetition) ATP turns into ADP. The more ATP you have the more repetitions you can perform. Phosphocreatine binds to the ADP creating more ATP. So by taking creatine you are essentially able to do more repetitions. These additional repetitions therefore create more damage to the muscle cells which result in greater muscle strength gain after recovery. There are many other benefits from creatine supplementation. Perform a quick Google search and read a few articles to get a good understanding! Hope this helps.

    Just to clarify, taking more to “saturate faster” doesn’t work. Your body only uses and creates a specific amount per day. So as you waste that 15-25 grams saturating, your body will still only use 5. Do 5 grams. Your body will take its time no matter how much you stuff in it. And even then 5 is a lot. Typically you want to do about 3-5. Creatine is also the only supplement that you can constantly take and not cycle. And you want to take creatine monohydrate. That’s the good kind. And don’t take it with preworkout. Studies show your body uses less while you consume it with caffeine

      I heard that taking more than 5g in the beginning does help speed up the process (so if you wanted max results in only 30 days, it would probably make sense to do so). But then again, thats just what I heard, I have no idea myself lol.

    • @FREEDOM.13
      @FREEDOM.13 Před 4 lety +13

      mudda vadda challenge everything you “hear”. Do the research. Because the research shows that our bodies only intake so much of anything at one time. You can cram and overflow your gas tank but your fuel lines are only going to send so much at one time. It your body only turns so much of ADP to ATP at one time with creatine. That’s what creatine does. Converts ADP to energy- ATP. You can only produce so much at ones with any one of your 3 types of fuel systems. You’re wasting a fuck ton of creatine by “saturating” with 25+ grams a day. And If it’s not monohydrate it’s not even worth it. And don’t take it with caffeine like most bro scientists recommend. It’s less effective when consumed with caffeine. Study’s show...

      @@FREEDOM.13 I'm not fully disagreeing or agreeing with you first off just commenting like a conversation.
      I believe he is most likely in the weight class that would do best with 5g but I believe also studies show some people can utilize more than 5g at a time depending on body weight and genetics as well as how active a person is. Some folks can fully utilize 10g or even massive bodybuilders can go up to 30g although they are using performance enhancing drugs to be sure. It seems like the average person can best utilize ( in my opinion based on what I have learned ) 5-10g. I am not sure about you saying to not take it with pre workout but it tracks as it also a stimulant and you wouldn't need it necessarily on top of another stimulant. Would you suggest to take it with a post workout shake then? Hi mate. I've took for years creatine and know a thing or two about it. Read a lot about it as well. So:
    1. Don't do charging ever again. Just take 3 grams for 3-4 months.
    2. Always take it with dextrose (it's the best transporter). So add like 30-40g of dextrose to it.
    3. Take it right after the training
    4. Drink a bit more water than usual as creatine retains water in the muscles and you might need a bit more for the kidneys. BTW eating more protein... More water you need. Small tip here: 1 lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of apple vinegar is a natural treatment that could be taken always to healthy help the kidneys.
    4. It gives you more strength but don't go crazy on weight and just Focus on the contraction. This is how you protect your articulations. Be consistent and make small changes in training and in the menu so the body can adapt. Take your veggies as well as in the long run it's the wise thing to do.

      MakeshiftGraphics The reason why it’s suggested/thought of is because studies have found creatine supplementation may increase the conversion of testosterone to DHT (which is a hormone that can cause baldness). Key words being “can” and “may” - from what I remember they were studies which didn’t prove that creatine causes hair loss, or even made a link between cresting and hair loss. Another thing is that many(obv not all) people taking creatine are also taking tren/clen cycles, which do cause hair loss, therefore skewing people’s perception of the effects of creatine. It’s bad for the vital organs in high doses, but taken at safe levels I’m pretty sure the recommended guidelines are up to 5years.

    I wouldn’t worry to much about the hair loss for those of you thinking of trying creatine either. There has only been one study on the decrease of DHT relating to creatine, and it was on 20 rugby players for a week long. Funny enough, there’s been promising research showing creatine can actually decrease depression in people taking a SSRI or other anti-depressants. Hair loss can be associated with stress/anxiety anyways, so there’s two sides to it.

    Totally placebo effect, creatine is not a stimulant, it also does not start working the first day you take it. You do not need a loading phase for creatine. It also does not automatically add muscle. All creatine does is convert to creatine phosphate in the body, which donates a phosphate molecule to adenosine di phosphate, converting it into adenosine tri phosphate, which basically allows you to get two more reps out of each set at the same weight...

    The crack joke really cracked me up! :D Needed the laugh. But as a consequence, I think I'll probably need to have my jaw fixed back into place. Then again, maybe that's just some far-out misperception due to the acid I took 1h ago. Peace! Au revoir!

    You don’t need 20g of creatine a day it wont do anything honestly, you only need to take 5g of creatine a day.

    Hehe, don’t worry about losing hair. It’s a decent sup. Very simple. You got plenty of stuff at home to workout with. What your doing too is resting. Having to stay home has helped the recovery faze. 👍🏼 keep it up. Only warning I would give is. Don’t go for high caffeine when u start the preworkouts. ON makes amino energy. Keep it low like 2 scoops. From my experience, less is more. The higher the dose you go the more dependent you get. And it messes with ur sleep. 100mg caffeine. Is all u need. If that. Best thing is stay away!

    Its a supplement not a steroid. Focus on lifting, nutrition and sleep as well.

      @ConfusedOilPainter maybe he is, but Creatine has been studied for years and it has shown good effects and very few side effects. I'd even argue that pre workout is worse than creatine as most of them contain big amounts of sugar and caffeine. Of course, both of those are needed in your diet but pre workout just has a lot more than what is recommended.

    The study on hair loss regarding creatine was sort of widely rescinded, because it had some shortcomings. Mainly, they forgot to consider the uptake in DHT levels from working out in general.

      Thank you for this comment I was wondering about the effects of DHT levels working out. My father has male pattern baldness and i was worried this would accelerate hair loss in me because of the uptick in DHT. I’m really happy you brought this point up because i feel more confident in starting it now
