Actually a Lamborghini Aventador is a bigger car than a Pontiac Solstice in both length and width. A Solstice is a tiny car kind of like a Mazda Miata so the scale of the car modes is not that bad.
In hand though Jazz is so tiny. You won’t be able to see how small he is until you really have the figure in hand.

This figure, while being completely inaccurate in the back and arms, is very impressive. I've loved Jazz for so long and was waiting for a figure that does him justice. MPM Jazz having no current news, it looks like this is the best figure so far.
I'd still say the Human Alliance is the best version of this character. Although this SS is good, the Human Alliance is a lot more accurate.
PrimeVsPrime huh, I always thought the Human alliance figure was less accurate. The legs seemed too thin in the middle, the feet were too long, the arms were too scrawny and the headlights didn't make up the forearms, and the backpack was completely inaccurate. This one certainly has better proportions, though it lost the accuracy of having the lower taillights become the thighs.
Overall, I think I prefer the studio series figure, but you certainly make a good point. Once the MPM comes out and hopefully includes the upper taillights and spoiler as the back, I'll die happy.

I have all of wave one leaders, voyagers and deluxes except crowbar which i know he a pain in the ass since he a slight retool of the last knight beserker which I have and boy he a pain In my ass. For all the transformation elements borrowed from other versions of Jazz, I'm kind of surprised the backpack doesn't fold up like the original 2007 deluxe did. Seems like it would be less clunky and more accurate, having the spoiler sit behind his head. And for such a small figure that $20 price for deluxes now makes it a hard sell. Anyway, very nice review!

Very cool review as usual. The ankle tilts are a bit strange in that they make the whole lower leg armour tilt with them but eh that's ok. I don't seem to have any tolerance issues with my Jazz in vehicle mode. At first i thought it had the same gap as yours but a bit more smooshing and moving the pieces got it snug and tight. :) He may be small but he's become one of my fave figures of recent years. I dunno if I agree about Scout class. I think he feeeeels more premium than a scout class would, or is a bit more complex in transformation particularly in the torso area but yeah maybe feels odd paying same price for him as you do with larger Deluxes such as Lockdown and Ratchet. I paid even more than you did and I'm happy with it so never mind. :)
Yeah I was actually going to ask you about the tolerance issues in alt mode. Maybe I need to just be more firm with it!

Jazz's vehicle mode looks like a Legends class figure next to Lockdown!! Unbelievable!! Can't wait for the new wave to land in the US...
Yeah the scale (especially in vehicle mode) is exceptionally small for Jazz. I don't understand why they charge the same price as normal deluxes.
PrimeVsPrime Bumblebee was tiny, too. And a fiddly mess, worse than the TLK 2014 Camaro Bee that it was retooled from, from reviews I've seen. Studio Series has been a mixed bag for me. Bee? HftD Battle Blade Bumblebee is the reigning champ for Deluxe class Movie Bees to me. Stinger? Cool, but I don't care. Crowbar? Don't care. Ratchet? Too close to the DotM mold, I have the DotM one already. Optimus? Naaah, the HftD Voyager Battle Blade mold is The King of Fighters among Voyager class Movie Primes, and I have that Walmart Battle Hook variant. Starscream? Got him, like him. Grimlock? Cool, be nice to actually find. Ditto for Blackout. Thundercracker? No chance, TRU near me is already gone. Jazz? Tiny, but still cool... seems better than the 2007. Lockdown? Hells yeah!! Must buy!! Brawl? Don't care. Megatron? Yeah, sure; looks like a better figure than the old RotF Voyager... even if it has a crappier color scheme than all the RotF mold variants (Voyager & Leader).
As for pricing...they're just desperate for cash.
PrimeVsPrime Jazz is the smallest of the Autobots in the movie and the Pontiac Solstice is a very small car as well. That's why he's tiny.

I do not know if anyone has already stated this, but the gap issue is usually a result of the roof of the vehicle not being tabbed into the back of the waist. Make sure the peg pops in and the gaps should be better if not totally gone
I really want a studio series Dino, Que, crosshairs, bone crusher, iron hide and the constructions. I think that would be awesome to have all of them remastered and the first for 2
Ironhide I think is confirmed. Not too sure about the others though.
Not as awesome as Bumblebee, but still extremely awesome! He is a Pontiac Solstice GTX btw.

If you have this figure!
When you turn him into a robot don't pull out the legs holding that leg panel! His back might broke (mine did)! Pull the part out using the back of the legs in a forward way!
The way you pronounce his alt car mode is called the Pon-ti-ack Souls-tis

The piece in the torso on mine is hell to detach for transformation. Those clamps are tight and I'm not ready to loose a fingernail digging into that so it will detach. AAAHHHGGH!!!!!!
Nice review PrimeVs! My thoughts on SS Jazz figure. Well, i absolutely HATE the look of the ankle pivot. In hand I may feel differently. But Jazz's legs never moved like that & imo, just looks bad & *possibly floppy? IDK, you tell me* The figure as a whole is super rad specially the articulation! Is lightyears better then MB-12 JAZZ for example 😂
*Question: Have you tried to remove backplate, like my recent MB-12 autobot jazz?* AND, where rhe hell are you getting all these new releases? :) Australia?
I LOVE the transformation!
The ankle pivot is slightly too loose. However it’s not a massive issue. The backpack can’t be removed as everything is secured in by pins and the plastic is clear so you’d definitely break it if you tried to pry it apart. I got this figure from Forbidden Planet in London.

The Pontiac Solstice actually is a very short and compact vehicle while a Lamborghini is a longer and beefier vehicle so their scale is actually very accurate in both robot and vehicle mode.
Maybe you guys can help me out. I'm trying to find one of these. I have a Saturn Sky, which is almost identical to the Pontiac Solstice. Walmart says they have them in stock, and are getting more in. But they are not in stock. Could they really be getting more if these?
That vehicle mode was very accurate. A Lamborghini aventador is longer and wider than a pontiac solstice
All transformers studio series is all i only wanted because it looks good and in scale to the others

Great review! This is my first peek at Jazz and I'm real impressed! One question, do you know if it's possible to use that transformation swivel around the chest to give him a sort of upper torso swivel in bot mode?

I just hate the tendency that Hasbro has to keep so many kibble just to respect the license. The PeruKill did it incredible in both modes and no backpack.
Jazz is on my list of 32 transformers and I’ve currently got 11. That being all the constructicons plus bonecrusher, blackout and dotm starscream with the awesome tattoos. Can anyone confirm whether the tolerance issues on jazz are with all models or if primes is just a little broken

They could have avoided leaving half of the car mode on his back though. A couple of hinges to at least make it a bit smaller or something like that. Im not into this line myself, but I do hope we'll get a mpm version some day...

Agree with your point on the pricing of these figures, why not just do a scout class line? Paying the price of a deluxe for a scout sized figure is unacceptable. The so called "scale" that they are pushing for is just a way to save plastic while getting more cash from the consumers.
Yeah that’s what I think. I think they’re just using this “in scale with each other” as a tag to give us less for more. Despite that though, they are all good figures

i know itz late now but itz not ur copy mine did the same thing than i found out when when u put the lower body piece under the hood u hav to make sure that the peg on the underside of the roof is pegged into the crouch piece if u do that then everything will line up

I bought my deluxe jazz and I was very disappointed about the size of his car mode and robot mode, I just wish that they could make him a little bit bigger so that he can fit well in my collection but I think I have to send this back to the place I bought it and buy something else. I think that if you want to have a jazz that is well stanced as I must say I would buy the united jazz or the premium series jazz from the first transformers movie. It is a good toy though :)

I have a solution to the gap problem primevsprime there is a little plug in the canopy/backpack of the figure this tabs into the back of the crochpiece and let’s you peg the doors in all the way
