I preferred the idea of Megatron eating Jazz's spark whole from the literature. His ending in the movie seemed *halfhearted*

My original theory was that he wanted to let his oldest friend rest. Optimus saw an honorable death in combat as a far superior fate than being revived to live out the remainder of your life in war. Jazz and Optimus were friends before the war began and Optimus didn't Jazz to be condemned to war.

Well you still got sideswipe and deino, in a removed part of the script for age of extinction, when the ship crashes it crashes where sideswipe and deino are hiding with a few other autobots who helped repair the ship but didn't wanna come on the ship, it was removed because there where issues with the government from where it was supposed to be recorded

I’d like to say jazz is a very iconic character despite how little he was utilized in the movie, people remember jazz as the cool, badass autobot with a smile on his face at all times,not scared of anything. And there are those who take his sacrifice as a damn joke, which is horribly presented based on how his character was handled in mission city. Jazz had the most potential out of every character in the movie series. I’d like to say, Rest In Peace jazz, you will always be my role model even if it was 14 years ago, I will always live to do everything with style or not at all 😔🙏🏾

having Megatron eat sparks doesn't make him more evil (at least in my opinion) i would rather have him crush an autobot in front of prime's eyes to prove how much we wants to hurt prime and what lengths he would go to torment his enemy.

Cannibalism among the transformers has always been reserved for the Sharkticons and Unicron.
I feel like Optimus doesn’t revive any of the dead Autobots is because he honors their sacrifice so reviving them would make their sacrifice completely pointless unlike the Decepticons who are basically expendable as shown in ROTF how they revive Megatron they’ll just rip each other apart to revive someone more important

Shortly after the first film came out, it was revealed that the studio had pressured Bay to use the Pontiac Solstice, which he considered puny. Giving the character - the car - a brutal and final death was Bay's way of responding to the studio's pressure.
That’s pretty hilarious.
The idea that Optimus was willing to let Jazz stay dead out of respect for his sacrifice to Earth and the Autobots is honestly quite heartwarming - Prime, at the end of the day, is someone who understands when someone wishes to go out doing the right thing. The fact that Jazz stayed behind to weather the Decepticons while the Army and Autobots forced a tactical retreat to keep themselves alive and plan for a better attack is worthy of a heroic death, even if Megatron gave him a very painful one in the end.
Could u imagine if jazz's body was near the blast from the shard and we got a scene where he wakes up only to be killed again by megaton. That would have been brutal.
That would be kinda like the "such heroic nonsense" scene.

I never even noticed how different Optimus was in the 2007 film compared to the rest of the films, until I started watching more and more of your videos. I do love the idea that he chose not to bring Jazz back from death because that would just be messed up to bring him back to life after he just did an heroic act and was completely okay with dying for the safety of humanity. Thanks for making me realize how different Optimus is by the way... I still love the Bayverse Optimus but my ideas of him have changed greatly.

Another reason (though not in-universe) is having a character with personality like Jazz would feel redundant because of the Twins and Prowl.

I still haven't gone over Jazz's death. So this video gave me some form closure. Jazz is one my most favorite character in the franchise. I have the MPM Jazz and I love it even if it was a KO version. When I did broke him, I really try to fix him. I guess it show how much I love the character.
Imo it felt unjustified and unearned to kill Jazz. He was just introduced and had barely a minute of screen time including his background. At least let him live one movie so we can get to know him. He had no character growth and less than ten lines...Keep in mind he was one of the most popular G1 characters. I don't like to think about the "Megatron eats Jazz's spark" thing that was in movie adaptations is strange. The fact you brought up that Jazz died of energon loss is tragic and I wish we would have gotten a scene of Jazz dying in Ironhide and Ratchet's arms. I wouldn't be crying🤧You would!
I think that that would probably be the best explanation. It kinda gives the dynamic between the Autobots and the Decepticons with the Autobots respecting their fallen soldiers, while the Decepticons just don't care. It also adds some more story to Prime, since Jazz was Primes luitenetent and close ally.
God I never truly realised how violent Jazz's death really was. Those parts flying off him gives me the chills.
Rest in peace Jazz a brave hero will never been forgotten that save humanity to sacrifice himself
At least give Jazz more of an honourable memorial by burying somewhere not in the sea but at a nice hill side with a nice view of earth but hey at least they shown respect by putting him in a coffin
Next theory idea: Do Transformers have infinite Ammo? (Ex. Ratchet simply pulling the charging handle of his gun to reload and then firing a bunch of bullets, bumblebee always being able to shoot no matter what)
Likely if they have enough energy, yes, throughout most transformers media they use energy based weapons like the Null Ray's and Megatron's Fusion Cannon. So if the transformer in question has the energon for it. They have infinite ammunition, I think the exceptions are weapons like Hound's since he Carrie's spare ammo and you can see shells dropping from his guns when he shoots them.
Maybe they can manufacture their own ammunition within themselves?
If Jazz was still alive, he would've saved Ironhide from being killed by Sentinel.

I like to believe that after TLK with Jazz being in a coffin Prime went to recover his old friend and used the Matrix to give his spark energy but not to revive him but rather for a new bot to be born
i've always thought that after this movie Prime realized there was no saving Megatron. (especially after he saw Jazz, amongst other things in the next movie) prime would then want to end Megatron once and for all. to protect the humans, and stop the war. the Autobots just wanted to chill, not fight for Eons, i really feel for them, even if they are just fictional
As much as I love the Bayverse, killing Jazz was one of the worst decisions.

I personally think his spark was already gone, and the reason why Megatron came back was because he's the strongest and the decepticons would go absurd lengths to revive megatron even Frankensteining him
I definitely agree that jazz was still alive once he got pulled apart, in transformers revenge of the fallen, jetfire sliced mixmaster in half with his axe and he was still functional until jetfire stomped his head off, Great video Trans!

The problem with the autobots who appeared in the first 3 movies , is that even if non of them get killed they would've probably have been all killed in AOE by semetery wind anyway , since the movie creators wanted to do somewhat of a reboot and bring in new bots while keeping bee and Prime
Haven’t watched vid yet, my theory is that Jazz has been through war, and prime didn’t want to revive jazz just so he could live through war AGAIN. The reason why the revived sentinel and optimus prime is because they needed a leader, jazz wasn’t a leader, so they let his spark rest.
I wish they didn't revive Sentinel. He literaly killed Ironhide in the most cowardely way possible: by shooting him in the back. He, a Prime, was afraid to face a regular soldier like Ironhide. He wasn't a leader, he was a coward.
@@ladyazari2785 Ironhide was one of the most experienced and strongest Autobots, at least in the Bayverse Transformers movies. I don't think that it would've been that easy for Sentinel to kill him. On the other hand, this sudden betrayal was cinematographical stronger than any open battle would have been. It's sad because Ironhide is one of my favorite Transformers. But based on the writing it was one of the stronger decisions. Even though, generally speaking, I think its most of the time weak to simply kill Autobots to make us feel one thing-> sadness. I think they could've found other ways to make us sympathise with the Transformers more.
To Sentinel's "revival" he wasn't dead, he was in a comatose state. Watch the scene where they go to the moon to get Sentinel back. He wasn't dead at that point, rather in a "sleep-mode" because of low energon reserves like Jetfire was in Transformers 2. Optimus on the other hand was revived with the Matrix, so it sure would work to revive Jazz. I think it would've been too much of a plot problem if they could simply revive EVERY Autobot who died. That's why they didn't bring Jazz back.

I guess Prime dint revive Jazz with the shard because he probably thought that it was the only shard left in the whole universe, so he kept it just in case of an extreme emergency.

@@sillyman5796 I have seen the three canonical films, and lockdown was in none of them. He only had a figure in the rotf line and that was it for him. Also ratchet never died I the movies. He was still alive and well at the end of dotm.

they are all killed after the human since they resemble animals more than civilized cybertronian and is dangerous for everyone including even the autobot, think of them as rabid apes and dogs. its shown in the comic.

came to earth and Jazz investigates a nearby Car Dealership there is a Silver Car right next to the Pontiac Solstice and if he scan the Silver Car (that was next to the Pontiac Solstice) he would have been a lot bigger and would been able to stop Megatron and survive and we would see him at the end of the film.

As optimus said when bumblebee was captured by sector 7, jazz had asked optimus about bumblebees fate and optimus had said that he would honor his comrades death in vain, so optimus would honor jazz's death because if it wasn't for jazz's sacrifice the autobots wouldn't of won the battle at mission city

I believe Magatron ate his spark as he was low on energon. It was minutes before Optimus showed up after Jazz was ripped in half, so off screen, Megatron would have had time to do that.
As for the cube shard being able to revive him, it'd have needed a spark to do so. The Decepticons used EVERYTHING from Scrapper, including his spark to be able to revive Megatron. This is also seen with Optimus after the Forest battle. His spark was completely destroyed from Megatron's sneak attack, and his revival was the Matrix acting as a spark. That explains why when it was forcefully removed, Optimus was struggling. He was literally shutting down as there was not enough energon left to sustain him, and Jetfire's spark was used as a replacement while he was being repaired and upgraded with the old bot's parts.
With all that in mind, I don't think it would have been possible to revive Jazz even if they wanted to.
No, the matrix was not acting as the spark, the matrix is the only thing that can revive a transformer's spark. Optomus can indeed survive without the matrix of leadership

The symbols were a map to the matrix so when he found the matrix they would leave his mind since there is no need for them anymore

For some reason Jazz was my favorite character in the bay verse films. So, for him to be the first one to die in the bay verse films really hit me hard.

I do agree with the fact that Optimus having higher morals in the first movie than the sequels. But I also believe that there was fear in the fact that the all spark, a object that can give life killed Megatron. Right in front of them due to the amount of energy stored within it. It could be said that even if Optimus was willing to go through with the revival, the act could just destroy his remains, desecrating the body of Jazz. This unsurtenty could have also easily swayed Optimus's hand.
I like this theory ^^ it’s nice that you can admit when there’s something proven to be technically impossible and give more character building reasons for it. I absolutely love bayverse optimus truth be told even if he can be a bit dumb and this makes him more interesting

The reason why I think he didn't revive Jazz is because Optimus knew that Jazz could finally rest from the war, But Ratchet died the worst way possible and Optimus wanted to revive him but knew it was to late.
Everything about Jazz’s death has always been funny to me, from the way he dies getting ripped in half with a pun to the way that he gets handed to Optimus and he takes a half in each and and kinda just goes “ah, rats, what a shame, oh well”

Great video, trans. An idea is where did Megatron get his cannon hand/blade in ROTF as I didn't see any cannon or swords on the constructor cons.

I watch Transfomers (2007) so many times on HBO Max
The real reason is because the filmmakers, Michael Bay especially, didn't think to do it, or at least if they did still didn't care to go through with it. This is the same series that already forgot about Barricade's entire existence for ROTF and somehow returned without explanation in TLK after all. Realistically, he should've been revived by the end of ROTF or the start of DOTM, which is exactly why stuff like him being in the tie in game in the former and even an exclusive toy for the latter came up. Literally everyone agreed that he should've came back except the filmmakers themselves. In no logical scenario is leaving him dead when he is second in command only to Optimus a good idea, especially when it would be relatively easy to do. Also, if you really want to be pessimistic about it, Sideswipe is basically his direct replacement, who also disappeared without any real explanation. (Him dying to Lockdown is a theory in of itself) I'd even go as far to say that the films would've had an extra layer if Jazz came back and saw his other friends dying, (Ironhide and Ratchet especially) but Michael Bay couldn't write a good let alone consistent story even if his life depended on it... EDIT: Another thing I just thought of is that even if he was considered for DOTM, he probably wouldn't have came back for that one anyways because of negative stereotype backlash after Mudflap and Skids. (I don't agree with that since Jazz is much more tame in comparison, but that's another factor) So really, ROTF was his only real shot, and knowing that absolutely incompetent for that film, (More than the others until TLK which is saying something) he was destined to be screwed.

Man I just want to see a movie or show where jazz and cliff jumper are alive and well. We got to see this in the fall of cybertron game and I loved it. I also wished that cliff would actually be in transformers prime for more than 1 episode. Was deeply sad when he didn't even make past the first.
I got a video idea: what do transformers see if they are in their vehicle mode? cuz beside of megatron in his tank mode i think there isn’t any transformer whos head stands out to see in their vehicle mode.
