jazz is actually quite strong, I mean he used to be the second in command of the autobots before he got ripped in half by the son of a glitch megatron, jazz is just too small and weak if you compared him to bigger/stronger bots like megatron and sentinel prime, and jazz was able to killed both blackout and starscream (a coward) in the transformers 2007 video game and because in wikia says that jazz is blackout’s mortal enemy and jazz killed blackout, so size doesn’t matter, I mean cogman was able to harm crosshairs’ fingers, even though cogman is just a bot of a size of a human.

I sort of wish they'd keep doing this "different sizes in each size class" thing going. It adds more diversity and character to a shelf.
I get that Jazz was a small character, but I think they should have ditched the standardized size classes for SS and had Jazz priced at $15 or so instead of $20. Because good gosh that is a tiny figure for such a price!

It's even worse in Germany. All of the new deluxe class toys cost 35 bucks!! The voyagers cost 52 and the leaders 79!!

Had looked at your vids ever since the beginning back in 07, with these studio series is a big throwback to those years, damn those were good times for transformers toys
I like the Jazz quite a bit more than I originally thought I would. Nice vehicle mode, looks very accurate to the movie and car in real life. A few panel gaps but I can look past that. The weapon storage is ok I mean, how else would you store that shield gun thing. Transformation is pretty fun and enjoying. Robot mode looks great. Very accurate to his appearance in the movie. Has great articulation. Scales great with the other figures from the line. A bit small but it’s accurate to the scale in the movie. Not much of a backpack so it won’t take up much room on a shelf. The weapon looks great when you attach the weapon to his arm or have him hold it. It’s a solid figure, very nice piece.
He looks really good, especially as we never really got a good Deluxe movie Jazz - there was the Human Alliance, but that was too big. A shame that he's so small compared to the old Deluxe Bumblebee, though, as it means you probably have to buy the whole new Studio series to put them all together to make a nice team shot. Either that, or ignore scale, which is something that Transformers toys collectors have learned to overlook over the years, I guess....

SS Barricade, Bonecrusher and Ironhide are figs I'd like to see in the future

Ironhide is wave 3 and Bonecrusher is wave 4 or 5.
bonecrusher is coming, not sure about barricade or ironhide but they are available in masterpiece form (ironhide will release soon)
The original leak (100% correct) has ironhide as wave 3 and ROTF Starscream as wave 4. Bonecrusher and the second optimus prime are likely wave 5.

I have the original Jazz movie figure (battle damaged) but always wanted the Human Alliance one. One time I saw it for $15 at a Ross. Can't believe I never got it. This figure looks grear though. I might get him.

I had problems getting mine lined up too, but I found the peg in the roof had not gone in properly. After making sure it was all the way in it lined up a lot better.

I like the size for 2 reasons:
1.) Jazz was really tiny in the first movie compared to most of the other bots (he was pretty close to Bee but still shorter)
2.) It means they can spend less of the budget on plastic and more of the budget on that GORGEOUS silver paint.
Quick correction, the Pontiac solstice in the movie was still a convertible. There has never been a true hard top model, but there are variations of the car that are still convertible; but instead of the soft cloth top, there is a removable hard top that they had added in as a customization option when special ordering the car.
I'm loving this studio series line. It gives you a chance to pick up a figure that wasn't really done right the first time.
Plus the front of the car becomes his chest.
The problem is that we've been very limited to Jazz toys. So seeing him coming back warms up my whole heart! To be honest I think the studio series is the best of him there is.

I'm sure you're aware of this by now but the legs have an additional peg on the back that Peg into the roof. Make sure that's clicked in and everything else will slot together perfectly

Great review. I am really looking forward to a masterpiece version that combines the good qualities of this figure with what we saw way back with the Human Alliance figure. I really liked the design for movie Jazz, and would love a figure that slimmed down the backpack just a bit more. I think they can do it. I know it is probably still a ways off, but ill wait for this "ultimate" movie Jazz.
After so many years we finally get a new movie Jazz figure and it's really good.

I love this studio series deluxe class figure. I want this jazz and others from this line
They did make a Solstice with a hard top. It looked slightly different than the Jazz model with more of a fastback shape to the rear glass. Anyway, great review as always. I’m actually digging this figure a lot more than I would have guessed.
I still prefer Human Alliance Jazz personally, but this is a lot better than the 2007 deluxe. Good job Optibotimus.

Regarding the size, these days stuff costs more, but you get less than before. I had a "value menu" bacon cheeseburger from Burger King. It was the size of a slider, and the bacon piece was the size of the 1 pickle slice.
Jazz was my favorite character from the movie and i am so glad he got a better figure

Looks more accurate than any other versions of the bayformer Jazz I've seen in robot mode.

As a great comrade when split half by Megatron although his spark exposed but faded.
Strange yours has gaps in vehicle. Mine doesn't. Had it for nearly a couple weeks and transformed many times without issue (kinda surprised the hand came off on yours so easily. not happened on mine). Bloody love this lil shiny dude. I did paint a couple more silver details like those either side of his collar (to simulate the parts the HA figure had), and the strips on his hip/thigh ball jointy areas. Paid £30 for which was a lil high (since I didn't know he and Lockdown who i also bought with him for another £30 were out in stores in UK that following week... although nowhere near me) and I don't regret paying extra at all. I've had so much fun with this toy and Studio Series in general. Got Megatron a few days ago and love that too. Megatron's lacking the silver paint the toy was shown with in early photos (though still awesome looking) but Jazz has got it so I think it's a budget thing. Jazz gets the silver paint to make up for that he's small, and Megatron lost it cos he's so big. :)
You can tab the roof of the car into the hip, making the panels in alt mode much better.
Optibotimus to make the doors more flush there is a trick to it, there is a little blue peg on the bottom of the canopy “backpack” that tabs into jazzes little hole on the back of his croch piece I find that this dose help it sit more flush
But overall great vid man keep up the great work
And yet, jazz isn't the tiniest figure we've gotten so far.
I saw some guy mention that they should've had a scout class line for characters like this, if they do Arcee etc then they'll probably be this size too so at least as scout the price is a little more justified
James Hadaway Thing is, if priced as a Scout Class I'm not sure he'd be so covered in silver paint.

Nice review again ! To me, Human Alliance Transformers remain my favorite ones, and I couldn't give or sell them... But I understand you need to replace it when your collection is growing up.
I honestly don't think I've been more excited for a toy before. I know he didn't get much screen time, but I loved his character a lot in the Bayformer movie. His character design was great IMO.
I had the original toy, and that thing was PHAT. This one looks way better, and the OG toy was a really dark grey
Optibotimus the thing that you missed on Jazz on his transformation to his vehicle for is that it has a powst under his roof and he has a hole in his but,, if you managed everything right you will be able to get all the panels right.
Fun fact: the Pontiac solstice came in two forms a full convertible and a "targa" top(witch is removable hard top)
I had the same problem lining up the panels but I figured out what it was. There’s a small peg under the roof of the car that pegs into his waist area in vehicle mode. It’s hard to get in properly but once you do get it done the vehicle fits together perfectly.
And in 2023 you saved my life 😂

Thanks for a great review. Sadly, although I love that Hasbro are trying to go for scale and uniform for the new toys, they don't scale well with the old toys, and given the choice between starting the whole collection again and accepting that I don't have a nice Jazz to go with the old group, the latter is probably the wiser and cheaper option. As you said, it's a problem that some of us grow up, but damn, it would have been so nice to put this with the others for old times's sake.
You can buy masterpoece jazz its well to sacle with the others
To solve the friction do is push both sides so the friction will lock well i hope that worked for you

The scale in the studio series is supposed to be completely movie accurate that’s why some characters in the same size class are different sizes like the leader class blackout had a smaller robot mode then the leader class Grimlock because they’re too scale to each other that’s also why ratchet is such a big deluxe by comparison

Maybe the problem of the friction is that your not tapping the hood to his waist properly, make sure it's tapped in, or it will knock the line up in whack
The Solstice actually could come as an optional hardtop in it's final model year, but there were only a few hundred produced, to my knowledge.

A lot of this figure’s aesthetic and engineering comes from the human alliance version. And his robot form is not exactly what we saw on screen. I love the form of this new one, (skinny, not fat) but it’s still good.
