      You mean when OUR hardworking Grandparents wouldn't put up with the sh*t that is being thrown at us now? As kids, we were well looked after. As adults we need to stand up for our way of life and not allow, the globalist replacements, to rob OUR children of their heritage.

      @@user-hq6bb1js3gthe news was stating that we are no longer a Christian country....we are a Christian country. Our country was built on Christian moral values. Just because times have moved on, does not mean that we are not a Christian people. We do not need religion like we used to. We know what the bible teaches; we do not need a foreign religion to replace Christianity...that would take our Christian country backwards. We need to keep our culture, our values and move forward, otherwise.....what was the point? Our forefathers could so easily have jumped into boats and deserted us. Left us behind, whilst expecting another countries people to pay for them....they didn't because they had their self respect!!! Why is it OUR government is letting OUR people down?

    This is likely one two things:
    1) A PAC code allowing them to port your number over to a different phone provider so they start billing you instead.
    2) More likely it is an MFA or 2FA code (Multifactor Authentication / Two Factor Authentication) where they have your other details and the website sends a code to your phone to authenticate it really is *you* accessing the website or other service. This is even more dangerous because they could have access to a lot of your details. As soon as you give them the code they enter it into whatever website they were accessing with your details, and they are in. E.g. Maybe your email address. If they get into your email address then imagine the havoc they can cause.

      It's in a CZcams video by Jim Browning, how scammers steal iPhones.
      In a nutshell, they gain control of your online O2 account and order a new phone which you forward to an empty house or Airbnb address. The scammer then gets a new phone while you wait for your "discount and gift".

  • @apollo12002
    @apollo12002 Před 10 měsíci +9

    This is not about o2, this is about 2 factor authentication(2FA), a system where you receive a otp (one time password) to authenticate your self for using a service such as a visa card.
    The otp is for you only and should never be given to a 3rd party ever, if they are asking for that code then they are trying to access one of your services that use 2FA.
    The o2 bit is just a cover, they could have easily of just said they’re from the bbc and you have won a prize and the code is being sent to you to claim it.
    It’s really important to understand the intent of these scams.

    • @gmo4250
      @gmo4250 Před 10 měsíci

      It's a scammer attempting to gain access to an O2 account. The scammer resets the online O2 account password and that triggers 2 messages being sent to the phone. They ask the victim to read the "discount" code to them.

    • @apollo12002
      @apollo12002 Před 10 měsíci

      @@gmo4250 Possibly but you don’t know that, thats my point. its more likely they want to make a payment with your credit card and want your OTP. it all depends what service is sending the 2FA otp text message , for example did it get sent from o2? Or was it a bank, visa , etc. Just because they say there from O2 doesn’t mean that is where the scam originated from.

  • @7200932
    @7200932 Před 10 měsíci +5

    Good advice, if you haven’t asked for something you shouldn’t be getting a code. Yes this will affect a lot of your accounts not just with mobile providers. Because of past scam problems most type of accounts require 2 point verification and a part of that is normally a code sent through text or email. These codes will never be sent unless you specifically are trying to do something with your account and you should never give the code to anyone as it is a one time code for use only at that specific time the code was requested so if you didn’t request the code it means someone is trying to access your account

    Another possibility is that it's a "confidence upper" - although harmless in itself, having given them the code which they may have sent anyway a lot of people will feel they've "passed security" in some way and will more readily go on to give details they otherwise wouldn't.

    At the minute I’m getting one of these calls every week. What they are doing is at the password reset screen on the o2 webpage. When you reset you get a 6 digit code. Then they can access your account with phone number and the 6 digit code. The text does tell you not to give the code to anyone as 02 will never ask for it. If they do then it’s not from 02. I’ve stated to play along with it now for a while lol. At the last bit ask them to say your name 😂 they can’t and will hang up

I don’t know who I was really dealing with but I managed to have the phone collected and I asked the driver to sign a a home printed collection note and I took a photo of him holding the phone box. He was not happy doing either but I said he has no choice as I hadn’t ordered the phone. Keeping it seems to be a grey area in UK law. I also kept on getting phone calls from different towns in the UK with what sounded like male and female Asians. I have a phone under contract with o2 but once the contract ends I will leave them.

    How it works is they access your account by selecting forgotten password and then a text is sent to your mobile, they the scammers then at the same time text you for the code enter the code and then order a new iPhone for instance send it to an selected address not theirs. Monitor the tracking number and contact person who received the phone and say it was wrongly sent and then retrieve it.

    Got a call today fom these scammers - I know they're scammers because the number they called from was a London number but it was a French restaurant! They sent a text witha 6-ch code. Woud I read it out to them - no I said and the female Asian on the other end was starting to get shirty because she said this was compny policy and secuity.. That was enough! Hung up and blocked their fake number.

    I’d say to people watch some videos of scam baiters like Kitboga or scammer payback. It can show you how they target people and the people doing these videos stop the scammers

    If they are giving you something free, just give it.
    Why do they need a code. They have all the information they need about you by now.
    So much information that if "you" forget something, you should be able to call them for a reminder of what you did.
    Where's my car keys ??
