The C7 looks timeless! Still can't believe it came out 8 years ago
this is by far the best exhaust note I've ever heard on ANY car that I've seen... nothing comes close. its nice, subtle, yet loud and has a good tone. amazing that this is an american production car. :D
+Azaria Abebe TRY listening to a maserati gt mc
Or any v10 ever
LFA enters the chat.
Finally, a video that really let's us hear the engine and pipes loud and clear. That engine on the Stingray is even louder than i thought it was.
Beautiful car, looks way better than the SRT Viper
Hell yeah
Thank you Don Sherman, for an excellent review of such a great car. I'm diligently saving my funds in the hope/plan to purchase a Corvette C7. And thanks Car and Driver for including so many examples of the fantastic engine and exhaust sound in your footage. Keep up the good work.
You still here?
I believe the Corvette Stingray is the most powerful car in the Corvette family. I can't wait to see a full depth review of the Stingray's badass aggressive brother, the Z06.
I was thinking about getting a c8 corvette but now that I've seen the 2014 corvette again, I really want a 2014 corvette now.
i will never ever hear any thing that sounded as good as that in my life , sounds just as amazing as it looks !
I hope to be half as cool as this guy when I'm his age
"I'm gonna put the car in eco to see if it will deactivate to 4-cylinders..."
*Closes tab*
Fantastic. Was planning on restoring a 80-82 C3, but this thing looks incredible. Won't be able to get one for a few years, but wow, what a car.
Great review Mr. Sherman. I'm glad they put you in it, you are like the Corvette testing master.
I'm going to buy this car.
did you?
Well???
he meant in 10 years when he could afford it. 7 more to go.
@@1flynlow 6 years to go lol
time goes by too fast. except when saving up money or paying off a mortgage.
Awesome car
Kudos to the cameraman; the way he follows the car when it passes by is just spot on! Bravo!
Great review, Don. The new Vette is one sweet ride. Love the exhaust sound in Sport and Race modes. The car looks great in red, too.
i just bought the car with yellow it is awesome and did some races and it was pretty good (nfs rivals life)
4:47 this is the best part
fo real to!

As awesome as this Stringray is, the best is yet to come. My brother worked on the team the last 3 years that developed the C7 and is now working on the team that is developing the high performance version of the C7. It hasn't been named yet. Stand by.
Yeah, I like this guys review! He does not leave much out and does not let the HP distract him!!!
One of the biggest issues with the vette is people think ur 50 or something. Bruh a lot of us are teens and young adults lmfao
shadowp80 yea because if people see a 30 year old on a Corvette they are going to think he's 50 right? Moron
@@RagingBad Honestly, so sick of hearing this! I don't care how old they think I am.
I hope to get one when I'm 20 honestly I'm (10 years old)
better start saving.
LOL
Did you save 1/3 of the car's worth? You are 13 now.
Well George? You're 20 years old now... Is that Corvette sitting in your single stall apartment garage or your parent's driveway? Hahahaha!
Finally a video from Car and Driver that isn't crap. Been waiting 3 months for good video.
Wasn't a massive fan of this car when it was presented but I'm impressed! And I just love the sound it makes. Very very good!
is this an AD for VIAGRA ?
SENDERLLY so older guys can keep earning a living? You're a fucking douche
Leave it to the old guy to drive it in eco
Hey Nick this fine senior reviewer can fuck the shit out of this car. I don't wanna think how much more fragile than him you will be when you get to his age. This is one tough guy
Great presenter! His experience is impressive. Great job Sir! Thanks
I drooled at this car at the NYAS, great review!
He looks like 70% of the people who buy this car LOL!
Bingo old ppl enjoying the golden years. Nothing wrong with it
O, Gee, I guess you're trying to make a put down. I'm crushed. Except, the car kicks a--. Didn't know you were/are an ageist.
FranknnnStein It was a jest. Dumbass.
NikoBell12 I'm sorry. I missed the smiley face and wink, wink. Oh, wait a minute; there wasn't any. I guess I'm just not so good at reading inflection when there's no indication of any. So, who's the dumbass?
FranknnnStein You because you take everything seriously over the internet? It's always annoying to encounter kill joys like you who can't even take jokes and/or are too stupid to realize it was a joke.
What an excellent review! I love this guy! And this car even more!
Best test ive seen yet..nice work..
Amazing, look what they did with push rod engine, simply amazing, imagine the power they can achieve with this thing ( can't wait to see the performance versions
Finally a Vette that needs to be driven and surely admired again.
To the Engineers of this C7 stingray.
Kudos and Congrats on a well done Job.
Those that stopped watching to soon you missed out. This was one of the most informative reviews on the C7 you'll see.
Rev matching works for both upshifting and downshifting. By waiting for the rpms to drop to the right point before engaging the clutch allows for less drivetrain shock. Also, if you've ever driven a semi truck or old car w/ a syncro-less transmission, you HAVE to rev match upshifts or you'll grind.
For the first time since the 70s, Corvette looks like a true exotic again. I cannot wait to buy one!
Excellent review from a truly knowledgeable person. Well done.
I haven't been a fan of any corvette except this one. This is an awesome piece of machinery for the price point. Looks amazing too.
Glad someone else here is over the age of 'too young to realize the world doesn't spin just for them'. This was a very SMART move to have the review done by this man. The target demographic is who is looking forward to this car the most, not the minimum wage top youtube commenter. After they've done what they need to actually sell the car, then you can see all the noise for those who want to see the car, but can't afford it yet.
Told a lot more than how much smoke/noise it makes. Bravo
Kei
This car is just truly amazing, work of art with function and purpose, i really wish i could get my hands on one.
Nice job
im loving the look of this vette more and more. just something different
Really nice review. Really nice car...! I think they got this one extremely right! Well done.
Great review and reviewer. Well done.
This car is absolute perfection! Gm answered all the critics.
Great review of a legendary marque
Great review, this man knows corvettes.
Great Review Don!
My dream car! This is the kind of cars that makes you wanna study harder to hopefully be able to drive it in the near future.
that exhaust note brought a tear to my eye
Both Car and Driver and MortorTrend are great magazines, I enjoy them both. Is always good to get different perspectives on similar articles. But I respect your opinion.
Great car, finally, the stingray has always been one of corvettes greatest achievements. Way to go!
testing? Are there any problems?
Great Car! Never really wanted a Vette until this one. Can't wait until a new ZR1 level package shows up.
In Track mode that thing sounds epic! For a stock exhaust, fantastic.
Awesome car good job GM. This is the first model year it will get better and better as time passes.
great job, I'm warming up to this new one have c3 and c6 z51.
Amazing Review. I want one.
Great informative ride along - thanks
I agree with you. This is the best Corvette ever.
Hey thanks for the ride Buddy
Very informative road test, Thank you 😊
Very enjoyable and informative. Thank you!
Great video and what an awesome car!!
Great review. Good to know that I'm not forced to use the 4 zylinder eco stuff...
I see people are getting heated about this review but for me it was really a fine Review - all the more energetic ones are gonna come no doubt at all and no worry. He covered 3 modes, he was around the steering and it´s feel, the ride, the engine, the sound, the price.
The new Vette has more abilities and makes it a little more complicated, but still it seams to have all the grunt and bark of an american V8. The sound in this review was really good and honest. Fine drive by footage too etc.
Gratz man, I still saving up for another 2 years until I'm ready! :)
How'd that go?
@@floored3078 haha not that well, I went with C5 and c6 instead.
@@playermodsrule understandable. A good low mile 14 will still cost 40k+
I've seen a few for 35k but rarely.
You can't beat a good vette, but for 45k you can get a hellcat lol
You know you're right, I wasn't even thinking of the 60 & below models & I stand corrected but those taillights look good the way they're molded in with the shape of the body. I still say the car looks great except for the back but one company has already come out with a round taillight replacement bumper so I might get one anyway.
Hello,
Superb video of the C7 Corvette!
Love this car.
I would like to ask you.
Wich camera you used to film exterior scene of the car?
Even if there is More than 1 camera, could you tell me this please?
Thank you?
Phil.
Great review
Really wonderfull review Sir
I love the Corvette as I had one when I lived in Doha Qatar
Great job. Great review. 10 minutes ago, I did not know I *need* this car. I think you just sold one.
If you watch the interior video C/D did, it is to engage/disengage the rev-matching system
Yes they are all awesome cars. It seems the performance are hitting new highs year on year!!!
Great review.
Excellently made video.
Just wanted to give props to the reviewer. Job 👍🏼
Man this car sounds beautiful!
C&D, are the gear ratios you mention correct? Is it actually a 5 speed (190mph top in 5th) with TWO ultra tall fuel save gears (6 and 7)? If so I don't get that, why didn't they do a closer 6 speed, top speed in 6th, and eco tall gear only in 7th? :S
The paddles are for activating/ de activating the rev match system.
I have to say, the quality seems so much better than the vettes before which I never liked. Really nice! :P
I love mine nice power took it on a roadtrip from PA. To its birthplace Kentucky 450 miles had it in touring mode averaged 28 mpg on the way down at 70 mph. On the way home eco mode at 70 mph got 30 mph not bad for a car with great power
30 mpg
I liked this roadtest very much!
One question; there are 3 sound-levels for the active exhaust, right? How does that work?
6:30-7:00 Brutal sound! That NEVER gets old!
All? Age and you are always a good creator
Very good review
great review.
Several channel subscriptions about cars = 10 vids in one day about the same car.
If I'm not mistaken, those paddles aren't shifters. The paddle on the right toggles auto rev matching on&off. But I heard that most enthusiasts will leave that off because it's not as quick as if you heel/toed the down shifts yourself.
great sport car zio sam congratulations chapeau
He did sell sports mode in a sports car, he just made sure to do it after talking about eco mode. Up selling. Not trying to be a trouble starter, I just understand the Corvette has a broad market. Old and young, hence why the vehicle has edge of your seat performance, AND economical / fuel economy benefits as well. They did the research, and engineering. Marketing and mechanics. They have a better idea of what to make in a good corvette than we do, based on the factors they saw in their market.
Great review, waiting for GM to make a Rectangular rear window like the old ones.
awesome! Got to see the transparent roof instead of carbon fibre.
volume controls on the right, favorites on the left. its all part of the new my link system which is sick
Nice to have a review for drivers. The hype reviews are fun, but the depth is rarely more than the watercooler stat-sheet recitation.
I hope Chevrolet make a Cup version of the C7, and Chevrolet become more involved in one-make challenge series.
Can you switch between modes on the fly, or do you have to pull over and stop each time you wanna change from "eco" to "track"?
you can change on the fly
This is an amazing car. If I had one thing to reproach, it would be perhaps the Camaro taillights. Not really a drawback. It looks and sounds great. Can't wait to see how the Z will look!
Hell I'm excited for the ZO6 don't know if I'll be able to handle it when the zr1 comes out!
I just saw one of these beasts in Sterling Heights, Michigan and my God I was totally fan-boying. And this is coming from an import guy!
very nice car, good review
