The video is solid for new players, but lacks a lot of details or explanations that might be important for people to know, so i will post this as a addendum with timestamps.
1:04 : Both Silver and leapstones are crucial for any characters growth. the difference is that leapstones are character bound and silver rosterwide. Characters that you dont not wish to push further atm should do lopang (aka lopang alt) and characters that you try to hone should do leapstones. 4 leapstone quests usually take 1 minute each most of it being loading times between maps, 5 leapstone tasks are not worth because they either require time or resources. BUT you should do 5 leapstone quests at least once, because if you get free Una completion tickets, you'd wanna use them here.
2:08 : I personally find overfarming chaos 6 times per weeks as a way to get 3000 extra shards reasonable if you lack gold to buy shards from the market and "need to" hone a character right now. 6 chaos take ~15 minutes and should be enough to get 2 epic shard bags which cost, depending on the server, 1200 gold on the market, making it worthwhile.
3:20 : FPPC/FPPD is not only expected in party finder but also matchmaking. While in Korea this order is stagnant, in Eu/Na it has been established over time calling what you want to throw after the first come/first serve principle. Usually this results in players spamming the flare button or stealing other people's position. just make sure you fill in a role, because if you don't, people are hostile towards you. Battle items are usually granted for free in large numbers as part of events, and boxes should be opened and used right away and be prepared to cover any role in guardians before matchmaking. If you have crystaline aura, you can get access to your storage if u happen to put battle item boxes there.
5:00 : Legion raids are the heart of lost ark, but people want to clear raids swiftly and without causalities. This means: They prefer people who are over item level, have good and many engravings (4x3 is usually fine, but will be disregarded because many people already have 5x3), lv5/7 gems minimum and a reasonable roster level. (In public lobbies with strangers of course.)
Legion raid groups are split into "prog", "reclear", "alt", and "bus". Progress raids are for new people who arent confident with mechanics yet and practice them. so late into the game, they are very few and its hard to get a group together, but should be your highest priority as a new player. reclear lobbies have usually higher requirements, like joining on a high-end character or have a prestigious title, alt is for lesser characters that are still built decent but have a high roster level that implies that you can perform well even with a on-itemlevel character. and busses are busses. dont bus bots, dont join lobbies with bots, leave parties with bots in oreha, bots are bad. (but make the market cheap)
7:15 : this partially true; while drops are random in chaos dungeons, a soft pity system guarantees you a cube ticket every ~3 days, and a boss rush ticket every ~5 days, granting 2 cubes and 1 br every week minimum.
8:10 : when doing challenge content, please take the time to review a mechanic video for these. you might get carried, but some mechanics are designed to wipe at the mistake of 1 player and because t1/t2 abyss is considered baby content, this makes it especially frustrating when someone messes up. also look up mechanics for the following guardians as well: Achates, Velganos, Alberhastic and Yoho because they are a bit more challenging than the rest if youre not prepared for them.
15:10 : Yes.
Join a guild, make friends, make enemies. This game is not a solo game its an MMO. So connections are key, and if you werent coerced into playing by friends who already do play, try to find the friends, the community to that make the journey worthwhile.
so good explain,but in Europe server im 1450 sorcery and all guild who joint it have 1-2 online players... all is DEAD have only 3-5 guild with people and there is "high end requitment" 1600+ ... and that is with friendships over... The game is go to dead in europe server.. people is cold, toxic , never help you dont talk with low gear peoples when i play it still have 0 friends after 6M play... in WoW or HoTS,Overwatch and other games with 3 month play already have more then 10 friends... and guilds and else all.FOr 6 month i only talk with 1 guy 1 time i add him after i quit for the day game he is remove it me from friend list xd without reason.Another Sorsery with 1590gs xd Lost ARk if you dont have HIGH END items you are bot or trash and no one pay attention...Never when i make it quest lines or dungeons someone is sent invite or ask for help or somethink...everyone is go SOLO...

My main is 1585 and I'm not looking forward to do the same content only in hard mode version. I've pretty much hit my end game goals for lost ark. Had fun this past year playing it. So for the new players enjoy the game and play it the way you want to play it!

Started the game at first in 2022, but never had the chance to learn any of the legion raids :) But im still doing other stuffs so. Maybe one day, i will learn them all so i can help the newcomers.
I wonder why lost ark doesn't have a helping new player mechanic for veteran players
I mean like an academy for new players and you help them complete content and the academy leaders (maybe 4 players) split rewards for each player they deliver to end-game content
maybe make the content reward more for groups with low overall item level so old players have to take low-item level players in their group to get more rewards.
and you can do the same for guilds like a guild academy for new players the guild helps them get to end-game content and gets rewards for that
After 200 hours I feel like I'm almost done with the tutorial xD I understand references in your video now :P "New Player" should come with a asterisk xD
Helpful video. I think the Roster system is Lost Ark's biggest weakness IMO. Everyone wants to clear raids fast because they have 5 other characters to do it on and it just encourages gate keeping and not helping with Prog or Learning Parties. You'll find some, sure but they are few and far between. It gets a bit old when a new player just wants to play the game and be apart of that :/
just curious how healthy is normal raid for valtan and vykas for you guys now? i could barely even see any busses here anymore let alone a learning or a hw party in NA west

If you are having trouble joining raid groups the best thing to do is join learning partys in the mormal mode of the raid. After you learn the raid mechanics and how people speak to each other for example Bring WW (take a whirlwind grenade) Pass lead! (give someone who has used chat the leader position) start your own group. One last time dont give up easily failing four times ina row means nothing just try to figure out what you can do to make things easier for your group. Take the position of someone else if they cant do it right use awakenings to protect people if they are takeing lots of damage to a specific attack. Dont ask other players to get better but ask yourself what you can do to make it easier to win. Lastly Gunlancers will help alot along with paladins to keep your team alive.
stupid advice, learning party does nothing you need money real life money for mats and extremely powerful gear to be accepted into groups

Everything I said before still is relevant today but you need to be willing to talk to people and make friends.

In the past playing supports was a guaranteed get into raids. I deleted this trash to get back SSD space

So my goal right now is to do end game raiding as a sorceress. I’ve used the vern pass. Should I use the punika pass to get to tier 3 or should I stay at 300ish to learn the systems? I want to get into this game but it throws a lot at you.

I quit this game last year because it feels like a full time job. There is so much stuff you need to do on a weekly basis just to progress your character that it becomes incredibly overwhelming. It is impossible to just play one character as you need alts to funnel mats and gold to your main etc, unless you just spend real money on gold. So you have to repeat everything on 6 characters every day/week and if you miss anything it feels terrible. It's really sad because the game is great and super fun, but it's just too much for anyone that isn't a streamer and can play 8hours a day every day
trust me wen i say that i have seen so many 200 plus roster players fail on mechanics that the ones with low roster lv lol

Is doing life skill mandatory? I kinda just wanna grind and kill stuff till i cant anymore.
It is not mandatory, but it does help. Life skill materials can also sell for some gold. It helps if you are a new player. It also helps with crafting stuff for a cheaper price in the stronghold rather than buying them more expensive on the market. For example, the Superior Oreha material that you need to hone your Brelshaza gear (post-1490 item level) costs 3-4 times more if you buy them on the market than if you craft them in your stronghold. It is also a good source of revenue for you. If you are in need of gold, you can craft these, sell them on the market and you get 3-4 times the gold you invested.
As a new player, with few characters and not much raiding activity, you have more time to dedicate to life skill. I was like that months ago. Nowadays I struggle to find an hour or two to do some life skills activity. 18+ raids and on top of that dailies fill up most of your time.
I really tried getting back into it whenever artist came out

Ghost Ship and Field Bosses are worth doing for special honing materials that can boost honing chance. You do not get a lot of them, but if you do this content religiously, together with Chaos Gate maps and any other content that grants these materials, you will get a significant amount.

@@lainstructure All MMO's have old content that nobody does after a certain point. It is what it is. All content from level 1 up to 1415 is essentially abandoned content, because everyone is boosty boy/girl and now jumps all the way to 1445-1460 without any effort.
In regards to filed bosses, not sure how many people are still doing Thunderwings. Haven't been there since Rowen release. Same with Ghost Ship. If people are no longer doing this content, then it is best for you to not do it either, wait till you get 1490+ and do the current available content that each veteran is doing.
Ghost ship was more for a una daily, to get the ghost ship for your ships, also more for card and rune, honning mats not really, people still do Thunderwings, I do it for the raid material that drops still depend on the time of day can be between 20 to 50 or 60 people at Thunderwings

The only thing that concerns me is hearing how the general experience in getting into groups is a bit... Difficult. How people seemingly are more demanding for someone to reach a desired requirement just to be able to join a group. I totally get the expectation of preforming competently but it just seems a bit more taken seriously with this game. Of course I'm still trying to get to end game so I don't know if it's true or not - just something I've been hearing a lot of.
Hi, yes that can happen. The fact that veteran players want stuff done quick means lower chances for bad looking characters to be accepted. I think that's a questionable game design but it happens in 99% of MMORPGS in the world so nothing surprising. Right now things are getting better (s l o w l y) and requirements for entry level endgame content such as Valtan, Vykas and especially Argos, are prettly low. For Kakul and Brelshaza it will take more time. Time that you can use to your advantage and build a good looking profile.
The problem is people have been doing the same raids for 100 times so they want to do it asap and move on to the next one while some newbies want to learn the mechanics slowly

Take your time don’t get discouraged by random people who gatekeepe. I highly recommend finding a guild or other people at your power level to progress together and to help each other. This is what makes lost ark super fun ! Playing alone caused me to drop the game. Now I’m back with people wo help and support me and the game feels so much cooler

can anyone tell me when this game gets good? not hating... just I'm like lv 30- and you go to a zone do like 4 boring quest maybe 2 actual fights.. use maybe 2-3 skills tops and everything is dead and you go onto the next zone rinse and repeat... does that change later? when?
The games opens up a lot after completing the first big continent Luterra. You are very close to that if you are level 30. You'll soon get a ship and be able to set sail. At this point the game becomes way more varied and interesting.
Game gets good after 1415 to be honest with you. Leveling up to 50, tier 1 and tier 2 are old, abandoned, filled content. Fortunately for you, they have added story express event which helps you walk through this content fast all the way up to 1340 (South Vern). You are then granted Abyssal/Argos gear and you can start Hyper Express event which grants you materials to boost you character to 1445. At 1415 you can do Valtan normal mode, at 1430 you can do Vykas normal mode and at 1445 you can do Valtan hard mode.
The real unfortunate situation for new players though is not the annoying early content but the gatekeeping you will inevitably face when you reach the good content. Which is why Sywo stresses that you should work on your roster level by also doing horizontal content. IMO though, new player experience in Lost Ark is shit so I do not recommend this game to anyone who wants to try it, unless they have a lot of patience or they have a community which is willing to help them. If you don't, don't waste your time. LA communist is trash, sometimes for a good reason, sometimes not, but it is what it is.

IMO the game gets good once you hit ilvl 1370(for argos) and 1415+(for legion raids). You need to be in a group(the lost ark discord works fine) or a guild to get in most of the learning party runs. Learning these very mechanically dense raids with friendly people is the peak of Lost Ark to me. As you level up and make new characters you will spend more and more of your time doing these raids.

wow is also another popular game that gatekeeps but its not common in all mmos i feel but their def out their i used to play a mmo a very old one so i wont mention the name since most wont know what it is the community was known to be paitent and teach people in most groups they did gatekeep but it was verry rare which is funny cuz it was also verry toxic community as well xD

This is not true, the bot population is rather low and mostly you see are real players.
That is not true at all. Like every game there are bots that get banned in ban waves and the devs are constantly fighting back. You see way more real players than bots.

There is alot of bots as of 03/20 when I last logged in. I did a choas rift and it was filled with summoners with nonsense names. I dont know what the % is but its not low.
@@TheoryDT i think you are referring to low tier chaos rifts. these are dead people now a days hone past them as honing is guaranteed and easy at that stage of the game.
Relying on others for content is such a huge turn off for this game. Rather had the other way around, design where someone being good can carry the entire group.
I say this is support propaganda, change my mind. I am still trying to get back into the game but it is still really annoying I can't just farm on my days off and instead have to do it when the game allows me.

Don't listen to any negative comments here, these are all the people who RMTed and got banned or who never played a grinding game. Is this a grinding game? yes ofc its a Korean game but no where close to BDO level grinding. You have stuff to do for any ilvl and this game have shit toon of horizontal stuff to do, i have 3k hours and still have 20-30% of stuff to do. LA is a fun game if you play at your pace and have fun. These all people who commenting bullshit on every LA videos are the one who want LA dead so they can feel good about quitting LA.
You’re coping hard. Most people quit around the same time I did, around 2 months after launch. You have to log in every day or every other day from tested bonus for daily rewards if you want to keep up. Otherwise you can’t do the newest content and end up having to do it with people who can’t tie their shoes and haven’t beaten the content yet. If you think grinding for 2 weeks of dailies/weeklies just do lose all your mats trying to upgrade is “just a Korean game thing” then you’re contributing to toxic game design. It is by definition, pay to win if you can pay for ilevel. It was fun up until it became a “needless” grind to supplement the lack of content and need to use alts. I and many other people already have jobs, we don’t need a second one.
