In this video I tried to show you all of the famous movie/cartoon (sometimes TV series) references that I have managed to find in The Simpsons as their tribute to cinema.
В этом видео я попытался показать вам все отсылки на известные фильмы и мультфильмы (иногда и на сериалы), которые мне удалось найти в Симпсонах, как их дань уважение кинематографу.

Growing up with the Simpsons as a kid it was this weird thing where for many of these cultural references, the TV show was actually my first exposure to them, and not the source material the Simpsons was spoofing. So instead of going "oh yeah, i remember when the terminator did that thing in the movie" while watching the Simpsons, i would instead go "oh yeah, i remember when Homer did that thing in the TV show" while watching the movie itself lol.
Thank you for saying that. That’s the way it’s been for me too. Take this upvote kind stranger. Wait, this isn’t Reddit.
The thing is, most of it was current/new so it was really more of a contemporary or current-events parody than a cultural reference to classic cinema. A size-able number of their viewers hadn’t seen Terminator 2 or Thelma and Louise at the time.
@CHAIRMAN LMAO I don't think it's necessarily that the source material was dated. Many of the references came out just a few years after the movies they're referencing. But msot kids are going to watch The Simpsons long before they see MA15+ and R18+ movies like Cape Fear or A Clockwork Orange.
It's so much better than the way they spoof movies nowadays. They're full-on parodies now, drawing attention to the fact that they're spoofing it. Sometimes the episode just kinda stops to make a big movie reference.
MEE to. I still find some till this day when I watch older films
My dad constantly references the "I can't go faster, it's a geo!" lol

I guess Ned shoulda got the Storm instead of the Metro.
It’s nice to see all these famous movies paying tribute to the Simpsons. It really shows filmmakers have an appreciation of their cinematic roots.
@badboy61331 r/whoosh
@badboy61331 I don't think you get the joke...
The T-1000 one will always make me laugh. On top of everything else, Homer’s blank expression as he chases them is pure gold.
that moment when you understand you really underrated the simpsons on references since you were a kid XD
The t-1000 one might just take the cake. It's a close call with Sideshow Bob's spoof of Cape Fear but man that Terminator reference in combination with Homer's compulsion to hang out with Flanders kills me.
guess he didn't see me. lol. I love old simpson episodes.. the facial animations arent as cold as the new ones. theyre funny by themselves.
my absolute favorite one! Something about the way Homer's legs drag in exact imitation but with his plumb body just kills me.
I just love Homer's blank stare when he's chasing Ned.
He missed an earlier scene where Homer melds out of and into the bushes like the T-1000 does through the iron bars, it's great too.

4:44/4:50 The Graduate
You forgot the Gold Rush
In the Episode "The Boy Who Knew Too Much", the scene when Skinner walks into the water then emerges on the other side in a robotic fashion - any idea what that could be a reference to?
It's claimed to be Westworld but there's no such scene in that film which involves entering / emerging from water
Back when the simpsons was written by harvard graduates
Those pesky elites, making TV that's funny to everyone rather than just the lowest common denominator.
Well that explains why evil Mr. Burns is a Yale graduate.
@@frankgarrett9500 right! Makes sense
And they were writers of the Harvard Lampoon.
@@lucinae8510 those were the days....except for Ian Maxstone Graham. He went to Brown 😂 and the writers ragged on him for goin there.
Season 5 was perfect
Yeah))))
I like homer t-1000'ining through the hedge. Still one of my top favorite simpsons moments
you notice how everything was from old seasons? yup they were good back in the day
back when the writers were harvard educated instead of the current crop of "grew up watching the simpsons"
Are going in chronological order, you dunce.
@@Sideway8 not all of the old Simpsons writers were from Harvard Matt Groening was a cartoonist John swartzwelder is their most prolific writers and he was doing independent print comedy, most of the writers were sitcom guys. That's much more true of Futurama.
@@karlalden2076 Yeah so you've listed two who didn't here's a list of the 24 who did... Al Jean

Oh man it's crazy to think that the Simpsons inspired all of these movies.
"Sir, I represent the estate of Charles Chaplain. I am here to demand that you put a halt to this unauthorised parody...boys!"
Oi!!! You gotta license for that?
Good job, man. I appreciate the effort.
Thank you!)))
+Петро Сейковський классно рял мужик ты посторался так держать

lmao the one with willie in the vents with santa's little helper gets me every time!
The Gone with the Wind one is amazing, when I saw it for the first time I just thought it was funny though it looked weird... some years later I saw the movie and remembered this. Back when the Simpsons were funny!
season 5 was pure gold
I CANT ITS A GEO!!! man, the Simpson’s used to be soo good
These classic movie references is what used to make the Simpsons great
The cape feare one is my favorite. Especially when your hear Ernest say: "hey Vern, help me my head outta this toilet!"
I always laugh my ass off at that part
Married with children show.
Ahhh good times
There I was, me, the accultured barbarian, thinking that Grampa Simpson screaming "Mrs. Bouvier!!" was actually a spoof of Wayne's World, while THAT scene itself is a spoof from another classic... Thank you very much for posting, eh!!
The Graduate is a great movie. Even if I watched it WAY too young.
@@MrBlueSkyof1607 to add to my lack of culture, I always wondered if this episode spoofed "Wayne's World" or the other way around lol
Deep Space Homer is filled with so many classics scenes. One not in this video is Tim Allen running over Wilson with his super charged lawn mower. Lmfao
The cape fear episode is an almost shot for shot scene of the film
fewer rakes in the movie tho
Same with the episode about the Shinning.
I guess since they are Halloween specials, then it's totally ok to base a whole episode on a movie.
Gone With The Wind 1:23 Lawrence Of Arabia 2:07 Big 2:17 The Deadly Tower 3:32 The Simpsons Tribute Cinema My favorite!! 🥰🥰🥰
Greatest tv show ever. If you put up season 3 to 8 against any other show, nothing comes close!
3:24 No debieron cortar la toma del satélite de la Fox, que era la que seguía al rotulador de Bart (origen). Tal y como sucedía en la escena completa de "2001: Odisea en el espacio" con el hueso y el satélite artificial.
Jeez, they parodied Clockwork Orange's forced-open eyes scene like 3 times.
I was just going to mention when Mr. Burns brainwashed Santa's Little Helper.
Not to mention they parodied it in a Halloween episode A Clockwork Yellow.
Gees so many awesome memories of season 5 :D
"There's Homer, there's Homer too. That's also Homer, THAT'S HOMER".
In a episode of Disney Channel's Gravity Falls, when Mabel said goodbye to Mermando, she did the same thing as Jesse from Free Willy!
4:32 "Oh no; Willy didn't make it, and he crushed our little boy!" "Ewww, what a mess."
2:50, I would say it reminds me more of James Bond: Moonraker, than the one you chose.
Funny how I watched most of these movies after I saw the Simpson's and it made me LMAO.
For me growing up, you have to understand that references were used constantly without me understanding they were references to all these shows and movies, so it’s always been interesting watching these movies later in life to finally see where they came from. Thank you for the video!
Yeah, it's awesome how they could write references to things, but still make the joke work if you hadn't seen the movie. I had no idea the Cape Fear episode was basically just a parody of the movie by the same name, but it works so well on its own that nobody ever needs to watch the movie to 'get it'.
raz zle Exactly!
The Terminator II scene is my favorite.
I CANT IT'S A GEO!!!
Thanks for this awesome video, but as if we needed any other reason to love (old seasons of) The Simpsons, especially season 5. Season 5 was pure gold.
In centuries from now, if there is a planet, we will study the Simpsons to discover how life was like in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
"Come on, Ned! Move this thing!"
"I can't! It's a Geo!"
So now that i have summer vacation i decided i am gonna watch/rewatch all these movies because there are alot i missed
Lol so how many did you get through?
The Simspons, more references than Ready Player One
1:50 nice transition
I love these so much!
1:43 is my favorite!

This video showed up on my home tab on CZcams but it's awesome, subbed
that song on the end LOL... these day's its a meme...
4:01 Don’t move a muscle
2:55 Popeye!? What are you doing here?
A more appropriate clockwork Orange reference would be when Santa's little helper is taken by Mr burns and is being trained to be a guard dog,
These were just season 5 though.
Awesome video and well put together.
The Simps referenced hesps of movies and TV shows. That was really cool.
Fantastic video, thank you
Just now realizing waynes world was parodying the graduate.
"Sorry, wrong wedding"
2:55 we had that in James bond too
These videos actually are a good compilation of best movies of history
Excellent video !
Season 2, & 4-8 of the Simpsons is like the best I've ever seen
Excelente trabajo Onikorp!!!
Gracias)))
0:30 We All Knew He Was Evil. But I Looked At It. He’s A Rebel.
Отличная работа, бро. Продолжай в том же духе.
Спасибо))) обязательно буду....уже начал новую часть делать)
U missed the Episode 10 in the casino it showed Homer with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise from Rain Man
"COME ON NED, MOVE THIS THING!"
"I CAN'T! IT'S A GEO!"
Noice.
The Free Willy one made me laugh so much when I was a kid
nice, u should have included the star trek reference as well in deep space homer
I wager 200 quatloos on the newcomer!
Plantas y
Plantas y flores
fantastic video! one of the best I've ever seen about the Simpson!
Greetings from Germany :)
Thank you!) Greetings from Ukraine))))
Nice!
Really nice work, thanks for that! :P
You are welcome!)))))))
that terminator one was amazing
I got all those references when watching the show. I'm a little surprised I didn't miss any - they're so densely packed in you'd think at least one or two would be over my head.
Hey, it looks that we have two Fox movies! The Simpsons and Star Wars!
Great work man ! I'm sure you had to do much research to do this videos :P
Thank you!)))
leonardoflorentin Well the simpsons has 25 seasons and counting ... Thats more than 500 episodes. I don-t think its sarcasm my friend
p550 Pablo I thought you meant it as a sarcasm, my bad.
4:33 i always thought was taken from Benny and Joon with Johnny Depp
Muy buen video!
Cool video keep the good job rolling!
Remember when The Simpsons were this good? Damn I missed them so much
Min 3:32 Wow!... is Kurt Russell! (I've never seen this film)
Min 3:39 Best part! haha 😆
3:37 my favourite. That Houmers emousionless face 😂 like real machine
Wow those movies are amazing
When I finally saw Cape Fear as an adult I realized that the Simpsons basically recreated the entire movie.
I think they did Phantom of the opera in one episode called flaming homer
They did. Barney rolled in as the Phantom (Andrew Lloyd Webber version).
They did it three times - Homer and Barney as the phantom and Martin Prince as the phantom when you see Lisa's wedding in the future.
0:52 Citizen Kane (1941) reference in The Simpsons S05E04
really nice video
Thank you))
I can't !!!!! It's a geeeeoooooo! Lmmfao
0:49 Mr burns did that with Santas little helper
That Dr strangelove reference it's sublime
I know so many songs, scenes and so on just because the Simpsons referenced it. They formed a huge part of what pop culture I know!
Good job :)
thanks :)
HELLO GRANDPA MY OLD FRIEND. sorry, caps lock on
the first one starts off as a Nightmare on elm street reference and than turns into a Edward scissor hands reference. Quite clever.
0:13 Stalin is everywhere
YOU sir are a godsend!
ahahaha, thanks))))
Dude. That was Freddy Krüger's glove
It's a double reference.
technically is is, but it's also a reference to Edward Scissorhands. However, it's more towards Nightmare On Elm Street.
Say your prayers Simpson... cuz the school doesnt force you, like they should!
Sooo goood!
thanks)))
It hurts my heart see how the old simpsons was so good and now is so bad :(
Yo, I forgot Homer and Apu rode camels just to get to the airport. 😂😂😂
the "'married with children" one should not fkn count as a 'tribute' lmfao its literally supposed to be the characters watching that exact show on tv
ye
With that point Free Willy shouldn´t be either.
Still funny though and fun to see
It isn’t a movie either.
Maybe they'd feel more at home in the bedroom, fruit bat 🍒🦇
Wow how long did it take to put that all together...so accurate with Titels and years.. 👍🏻
Terminator gets me every time
