Welcome to Next of Ken and in this episode, we're counting down 33 Reasons To Love Abe Simpson From "The Simpsons." Although he's probably more senile than Hubert Farnsworth (if that's somehow possible), Grandpa Simpson continues to be one of the most consistently hilarious characters on the show. Where other characters have started to lose their appeal, Abe is still the same feisty, disturbed, mentally unwell, and undoubtedly senile crackpot that he ever has been and we hope that'll never change. Is Abe older than 80 though? i mean sure he had Homer at 40 but Homer married quite young and his eldest son, Bart is only 10 years so. So say Homer married Marge at 24, hed be 34 and Abe would be 74.

@RebStudios Haha.. I think it's because communism is an ideology for how a country ought to be run, how wealth should be distributed etc., and it's possible to be opposed to homosexuality whilst still supporting the ideals of communism. Hope this helps.

The Simpsons used to have a lot of dark humor. One of my favorite Grandpa moments that's difficult to find: Marge leaves the kids with Grandpa to "protect their innocent minds." Cut to him showing them an album of dead German soldiers his platoon killed. A disgusted Lisa then asks "How do you sleep at night?" and Grandpa replies nonchalantly "They drug us!"

SovietOnion I much prefer Grandpa now back in the classic era more so seasons 1 and 2 he was very angry 😡 and far more serious back then now he’s mellowed to become a silly/senile old man as have many of the characters since season 10 much like Homer Krusty Skinner Burns and Wiggins too have all changed from early seasons

Abraham was actually one of the best dads. He did all manner of jobs to support his family stayed loyal to a strung out hippie of a wife that cheated on him constantly and neglected their son.
And you bring up the whole lying about his mother still being alive would you tell your kid the truth. That their mother didn't love them enough to put them first.
Think about it crayon up the nose, sweets and overeating addictions are all signs of neglected child and Mona had one job.
