I saw this episode when I was ten and was first getting into doing sci-fi concepts. I had a dream one night that all of my scribbles I messed up on and threw away were crying, and they sounded exactly like Krusty crying, it was so heartbreaking I woke up in the night and my mom had to comfort me before I could go back to sleep.
So yeah, goofy as Krusty's cartoonish bawling may be, this will always be one of the saddest Simpsons moments for me, due to personal experience.
The way Krusty starts to swear then realises that he's back on air live is brilliant!!

I think Krusty is one of the best Simpsons characters. He may just seem like a walking joke but in that episode where he talks about his father you get a real understanding of why he is the way he is. He hides his pain and suffering through making others laugh and his own vices, he may have a ton of funny moments but I believe that the humor serves a greater purpose.
Brad Bird, the director of the Iron Giant and the Incredibles was essentially the father of Krusty in the sense that he ALWAYS had a hand in his animation, whether from animating a scene himself to when he was a creative consultant later in the show, he always had notes and even came back to do animation specifically for Krusty's scenes.
The staff even says that he "has a little of Krusty in him."

You know you're going in for a laugh, whenever Krusty shows up in the show. He's still one of the reasons why the Simpsons remain incredibly funny. There are many famous clown characters, but Krusty is probably the only one who can make an entire audience laugh, even when he's incredibly depressed (I think some of his best moments is when he's bottom of the well depressed, or when he starts to speak in Yiddish).
I give u that. Imagine him being in a Lego game with The Joker who’s also a clown. *Krusty laugh, then sigh*

So the joke Krusty couldn't tell Marge at 3:38 goes something like this: A guy walks into a bar, takes out a tiny piano and a 12 inch pianist. The bartender, amazed by the little guy, asks how he got him. The guy tells him that he has a magic lamp and when you rub it a genie will come out of it and grant you one wish. So the bartender asks if he can try it, the guy agrees and hands him the lamp. He then proceeds to rub the lamp and just like the man said a genie pops out. The genie says to the man that he has been granted one wish and without hesitation the bartender wishes for a hundred chicks, the genie nods his head, grants him his wish and then disappears. Unfortunately tho instead of getting a hundred (girls) he gets a hundred baby chicks. The bartender furious goes up to the guy and tells him that he tricked him. The guy says "how do you think I feel. Do you really think I wished for a 12 inch pianist?"
