How do you feel about the Lakers latest signings? And what are your thoughts on DLo leaning toward opting in? Comment down below!
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to drop a like + subscribe if you have not already :)
Can you do a video on Keisei Tominaga lakers should bring him in for summer league he was nicknamed Japanese Stephen curry at Nebraska
I think we should keep D-Lo long term.
With Murray off the board I think we are stuck with DLO. Which isn’t such a bad thing. He shot pretty well other than the Playoffs. Maybe we can still flip him for a 3pt shooting PG.
I'll never get how some Lakers fans will be like
"We need great three point shooting and someone that can get their own shot and can playmake at a high level thus taking the ball out of LeBron's hands so he doesn't have to all the time."
And then turn around and go "Let's trade the one guy that is the best on the team at all three of those things and only costs us $18-19M, and try to get rid of three solid role players for someone that will cost $30-40M a year instead!"
The sooner Murray, LaVine and Young get traded to teams that aren't the Lakers, the better.
If you're for keeping DLO if they put a 'better fitting' team around him. I wonder how you think that isn't happening when you look at who they've drafted, Knecht next to a player/passer/shooter like DLO is a dream come true. Also the inclusion of Blake Hinson, etc. Put moving off ball shooters next to DLO the way Redick would want to use them? Idk how anyone would think that WOULDN'T fit perfectly with DLO's playstyle, particularly with a lot of off-ball movement happening.
I agree with you, but it's not that. Dlo has helped the Lakers get through the season and win at a high percentage when everyone is playing well. And yes, you will not get that production and fit at $19 Million. The problem as most everyone knows is his performance in the playoffs. He can be schemed against, and we've seen that for two years now. That is where Gabe was supposed to help, but he was injured most of the year and did not look like himself. My hope was to get someone like Murray who is more consistent overall and use DLo of the bench. I am glad that he may opt in. He can play and help LA, but still be an asset until LA can find someone who can help them when the playoffs come around.
@@mckinleywebb5910 Murray doesn't play defense much anymore and isn't a good shooter so trying to put him in DLO's role is asking for trouble as he is neither a high volume three point shooter and he can be schemed against once his inability to shoot is scouted, and the fact he not only doesn't give much effort on defense anymore but since his injury hasn't been the same defender he was prior anyway when he did try.
Because of this if you were to get Murray he wouldn't move DLO to the bench he'd move Reaves to the bench, but because you'd likely need to get rid of Rui(and Vando or more pieces to get Murray) then you don't have the production of Rui at the 3 and you need to ask another person to also shoot as well as he did from three and rebound like he did.
Ultimately though when we do talk about Playoff letdowns, Rui is the one that sticks out far more. Last season off the bench he was fantastic in the Playoffs, this season starting he didn't have any effort whatsoever on either end.
The thing about D-lo is that he's not athletic whatsoever, has no physicality, and can't play downhill. With that being said, I wouldn't mind keeping the current team and upgrading Rui into Lauri Markkanen, as well as trading Gabe Vincent for Robert Williams or Schroder
If playoffs is the point of contention then Rui should be the one traded. Zero from that dude. At lease Dlo showed up for 2.5 games
@@rickyd2929 Dlo didn't need to be super athletic to drop 40 on the Bucks and carry our scoring as the 3rd and at times 2nd option offensively. People overrate "athletic" when DLO can get to his spots and get his shots off just fine and very efficiently.
You'd think in an offense like Ham's where he had to create his own most of the time and was very efficient still, that under Redick who is going to be running DLO off 2 screens etc similar to how the Warriors use Steph, he'd be even more efficient. That's a scary prospect for other teams and why we should be VERY happy that DLO re-upped.
I want Dlo to stay. We drafted him. Magic kind of buried him and now he’s trying to redeem.
I understand the hate, scoring 0 points in a crucial playoff game in front of Lakers fans is bad, but this is the 2nd year in a row where he struggled in the playoffs. As a long time fan though I like him a lot, drafting him plays a part too in my bias lol. He shot a career high 41% from 3 on 7 attempts. Lakers fans complain about shooting, we have 1 here with DLo. JJ will get him better shots.
@@powuhh are you dumb dlo literally helped us get to the conference finals? or are you just looking at the stats? makes sense
Trying and failing at the worst time.
DLo doesn't hurt our chances, but we need to upgrade Rui and get a big body center.
@@powuhh my same thought process.
LeBron needs to take a pay cut. Pelinka did him a solid by drafting Bronny.
hopefully the reason why he opt out, but i heard it wont make a difference if he get a max contract
im done with DLo man this is the 2nd in a row post season where he scored 0 in elimination
Not deffending but game 3 was when he scored 0 and when he faced elimination in game 4 he went ballistic. Still shit the bed against the nuggets 2 years in a row but you are spreading missinformation
Coco 5 Granny?
@@pi4abg187 last year he scored 0 in gm4
this year he scored 0 in gm3 it's not elimination but that's the most crucial game coz they down 2-0
@@theyrehere.3468 exactly its not elimination game
Also in game 4 of wcf last year he scored 4 points. Spreading missinformation
Use Diarra at one of the wings, because every team in the league is loading up at the wing position, and he can help AD on defense, but they have to give these young players a chance to prove their play!💯
JJ going to put AD at 4. Where AD belongs. Naturally. Watch. AD not a center.
I hope so
Who will play center?
@@1maine24 eddy
@@yarukay5749Eddy? Edey, got picked at 9 by Grizzlies.
Thank you
Diarra at 215 lbs won't be pushing any true NBA centers off the block down low. This would be my biggest concern as the Lakers still have not addressed the (Denver) gorilla in the room yet. Might make it up in athleticism and length but you never know.
Honestly, I don't think Jokic is the problem. It's that LA has no one to at least make Murray earn what he gets. If they had a Caruso or Dunn type to shadow him, LA maybe wins at least one of their last two playoff meetings. With all the players leaving Denver (Possibly Porter Jr and KCP) they won't be a problem for long.
@@mckinleywebb5910 Murray had a genuinely bad series against us though. MPJ is the one who killed us in addition to Jokic, not Murray. Reaves really did an admirable job on Murray when he was on him, and no other team in the league has the personnel to do to Murray what the T-Wolves did to him.
Joker gonna get his regardless, its players like KCP MPJ AG JM
Hawks dont want RUI DLO GABE, they want larry nance.
It’s the 2 frps
@@jarrettcarpenter3155we had 3 frp we could throw
😆😆😆😆
That's not what happened. They clearly stated that they simply wanted an expiring contract to get assets while also getting dejounte's salary off the books. They would have done the trade but were worried about D-lo opting in to 2024/2025 player option. Larry nance is expiring
@@rickyd2929yeah you’re right , I remember hearing they were unsure wether d-lo would opt in so they didn’t want to take the chance.
Dlo just opted in
We need a real center so Davis can play pf
They have been needing to get a starting caliber center. Totally agree with you. AD needs to play power forward. He should only play Center against teams that don't have a true Center.
We should only play Ad at c in the 4rth quarter
Robert Williams or Mitchell Robinson
@@nathanharris3787 I get why you think that but the problem is AD is a great Power forward and he lacks both height and weight that routinely gets him beat against other dominant centers like the Joker and Embid. If LA could just get a quality Center and let AD play the 4 then AD would be able to give that Center alot of help defensively and offensively AD would be unstoppable against other Poweforwards
@@LesterRhoads-p8l i only said that for the 4rth quarter
We dont need murray
Yeah
That's too much to gaveup 2 players & 2 first round picks only for Murray
And NOP lose on that trade too
@@benbenn123too much to give up ? Larry nance and Daniels don’t compare to Murray 😂 if anything pelicans got Murray for almost nothing
@@4ransom437 Do you think Larry Nance is that bad? Murray also had his worst season
Why must Lakers give up many assets only for him?
Plus Atlanta only want AR in the trade
Exactly! Lakers doesn't need another star player. Having another star player in a team does not automatically mean you get a championship! Winning a championship is a team effort! I believed in Boston Celtics' winning the Finals bcoz of their defensive group effort. The only star player there is Jason Tatum. They don't make major changes in the team.
With the new rules, Pelinka is a wizard for pulling of the moves he has. It'd be cool if D-lo stays. New coach, new era.
Who ever suggested Lonzo, makes me glad that person isn't involved in procuring talent for the Lakers, thank God.
Need to see if Castelton is ready to play
He's garbage
Yeah, @@michaeljohnson2000. Castleton is Jay Huff 2.0.
Imo DLo is more important to the squad than AR and Rui…he impacted winning way more than both…more often times than not when DLo had a good game the team had a good game and the lakers win…id keep all 3 tbh and just move Vincent…he literally adds nothing and the lakers shouldn’t be looking to build another big 3…add 2 way depth
I need Rui to be used well by the coaching staff and for him to have a breakout season!
Rui is just not that good.
Great presentation and commentary, thank you!
Sean East looks like Jordan Hill. Lolol. Nevertheless, the squad for summer looks fun to watch! Can’t wait to watch!
I love DLO too, he was a huge part of getting the Lakers to the Playoffs in the first place. I say keep him and let hiim do his thing in the regular season, then let him sit on the bench and hand out the gatorade in the Playoffs lol. Or will it be THIRD TIMES A CHARM? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, fool me three times...... ?
We got to remember that in order for us to get players, the other teams will have to trade with us. Murray was traded to the pelicans because the Hawks want everything plus the kitchen sink when trading with the lakers but will take 3 cheerios and a used bubble gum wrapper if its any other team.
This mf rob is gonna sign Jalen smith or Jonas and call it a day lol
They would be a good C signings at this point 🤟
“Welcome back Eevie-wun”
Why do people hate Dlo but have nothing to say about Rui? I think he hurt the team more. He couldn’t defend MPJ or Gordon and also brought nothing offensively.. atleast Murray was contained most of the series he only shot 40% and 5-24 on 3pt.. if there was another defender on the floor we could cover up Dlo
What realistic trade ur doing with DLo now that Dejounte is in NOLA?
I think you put one of Bronny’s pros for Diarra
This is going to sound crazy but i want to trade for Ben Simmons, Dfs and or Cam Johnson with Brooklyn. I got feeling Ben is going to come back this season better than ever
It’s going to be a very interesting hours in free agency especially for us. We will find out who is going to opt in and opt out
Good point, him opting in is actually better for the Lakers than him opting out
Why not give him a 2nd run he might do great this time out
I'm hyped for summer league!
I really want them to get a true big that can play alongside AD. And who can bang with embid and joker.
Diarra needs to go to his nearest GNC and stock up on mass gainer protein drinks.
Hell yeah DLo stays.
Yep im looking for him lakers should sign him he's athletic for that height and a good rim protector.
I still like DLO and if no other team wants him, I'd be cool with him staying. If he can be traded for a big asset, then I'm cool with that too. I forgot about Diarra!!! I'm still hoping for a true center and would like to see the Lakers go after Steven Adams.
Anyone else remember the Robert Upshaw hype 😂
We need a 7ft + center to defend the elite bigs
Lakers need rebounding! That is what hurt them in the Denver series...
Just got news that murray going to the pelicans😢
the pels really got him for chump change😂😂
Sad day 😢 wtf Rob doing man 😂
Can’t say I’m surprised Atlanta didn’t trade him to LA
@@JSM24 only DFS and cam johnson is my opinion for Dlo and some pic to change, maybe with gabe which i think it work financial
Does that mean trae might be coming?
I feel the lakers should at least ask about Jaden Ivey or sasser after the Ron pick
Rui needs to play with more killer instinct..hes too damn casual.. never talks..thats his problem..I would trade him..
Shoulda got Jaedon Ledee (PF/SDSU)
What's the chance they could get PG?
How about Jamarion sharp 7'3" height with 7'9" wingspan. He's quuck for his height and a very good defender. I hope Lakers signed these players in their roster Jamarion sharp, Armel Traore, Blake Hinson and Mohammed Diarra as they are truly NBA ready.
Armel Traore and Hinson are both on two-way contracts with the Lakers. Sharp went undrafted but is playing for the Mavs in the summer league and I think they have a much better chance of securing him if they deem him to be worth developing as a defensive specialist. Sharp is fast, but that is because he is light for his size, much lighter than AD. He also can't shoot for shit, and is an offensive liability. They also got Mohammed Diarra in a summer league deal (exhibit 10), if he performs he will get their third and final two-way contract (they upped the cap from 2 deals per team to 3 which is great for the Lakers.)
It is looking like they keep AD at center, but pair him with better young PFs and combo forwards who can allow him to play PF more often.
Jamarion Sharp and Mohammed Diarra are very good players..they are both quick and defensive specialist. Jamarion doesn't need to be a scorer but with his height and impressive wingspan he's a big help for ring protector, rebounds, shot blocks, follow up shot, easy baskets. Mavs so lucky.
@@blenquing4951 It is said that LeBron might be taking a pay cut with his new contract, if they can get him on a 4+1 (player option) deal (assuming LeBron still wants to play for at least 4 years which I think he does), they could stretch that salary out over 4-5 years, and combined with his willingness to take a pay cut, that could save the team 10-20 million in cap space a year. If even 2 of their 3 two-way players perform, lets say Armel Traore and Mohammed Diarra, and get called up to play their 50 games, and even one of them, paticularly Diarra, can perform on the Lakers in the regular season, then they could promote him last minute so that he can play as a Laker in the playoffs, that way his salary won't count against cap space and they have the option to choose who to keep and who to send back down to the g league during the regular season. Those two scenarios combined give the Lakers room to sign a star free agent on a decent contract or possibly even entertain a trade, take for example Rui who isn't of much use to them, or even Dlo if they can find a better offensive threat who can actually show up on defense, but I think you bet on Dlo unless you are able to get talent like PG13 or Klay in free agency, at which point you could package Dlo and Rui into a deal for a better big man. This would make the Lakers a championship contender.
WE NEED A LEGIT SHOT BLOCKING BIG!!!
I would rather trade Rui than DLo
Only Howard can guard Joker
I don't see anything' that would excite me about the Lakers no one on the team that can dance to the jam by r Kelly bump and grind underneath the basket😅
Where's castleton
Hopefully, Castleton's GONE
Walker Kessler.
If Dlo opts in, then trade Dlo, Rui, and Gabe to the bulls for Zach. No picks involved. Everyone in the west is getting better.
you talking like the bulls will just accept that, people thought that if they think of a trade any team will just accept that.
He’ll no Levine always hurt he will barely see the court
@MegaSaiyanpride wait for another western conference team to get him, and y'all start complaining that Rob is not a good GM. Lakers might not even make the play-in
U know lavine makes about 50 million in cpl yrs right? I want him but the contract is REALLY bad it matters
Why would you want a injury prone Zack Lavine
I’m a tell you right now we look like a joke a joke Kalinka what are you doing Rob? What are you doing? This is not the Laker way.
I love DLLLLLLL MEN I WHANT HIM FOR PLAY MAKER HI.KWOS THE TIME BOYS COME ON. THIS YEAR BANDERVOLD AND GAVE ARE COMING MEN I AM EXITING. I DONT KWOW INGLISH😂
215 lb center? No thanks
If he puts on more weight he’ll be fine
Bro let’s be real we’re not gonna sign this guy lol
I hope we try to trade for Lauri marknan from Utah or cam Johnson from the nets. I will be satisfied
They would trade Lauri for a role player and 2 seconds before they trade him to LA
Man shut up DLO not going anywhere
Hope we go after Jalen Smith.
D-lo is not a reliable scorer especially when his team is down in scores
Magic got rid of Jason hart Brandon Ingham Kyle karma zubiac d lo and no 1 picks for davis who been injured from day one nobody should never listen at magics
Honestly i rather have dlo then rui
Lakers should get Lonzo
Exactly
@@Cwaydacrookedare you on crack? Get a dude thats been out for 2 years and probably never gonna be the same ever again i want whatever youre smoking 😂
Ain’t he hurt still 😊😊hell no
Nobody is trading for him with that contract and if he gets waived we can’t sign him, the only way to get him is if the bulls buy him out
@@geedotty7839he no longer feels pain ,he’s just rehabbing now.
He is 6;10 7'6 wingspan 215 , why not keep what we have
I like the additions, but WHERE are the 2-way players ?
🤔🫡
Armel Traore, Blake Hinson and Mohamed Diarra (Diarra is on an exhibit 10.)
