  • This review of the LiftMaster 98022 Wall Mount Garage Door Opener covers some of the same great features of the older openers. Yet no that LiftMaster has omitted the cable tension monitor to keep up with the competition, there is an issue with this opener that is frustrating the new generation installers and homeowners.

      @@sosgds Nope I had ProLift Garage Doors do it here in Highlands Ranch, CO. Purchased the opener from an Amazon Garage Parts wholesaler for $525. $200 installation fee. Working so far so good, got it connected to me two Tesla's with MyQ free 30 day trial. Anyone have a promo code? I am buying the 10 year plan. Ordered the wireless control pad 885LM as well. $30 wasn't too bad. @rb8049 Před 2 měsíci +3

    The problem is not excessive force, the problem is the algorithm implemented in the processor is unstable with some doors. They don’t have enough phase margin and it starts jerking while traveling. They need a new control systems engineer to derive a functioning controller that is stable over a wide range of doors or have it auto measure the doors and adjust for the door weight and rollers. Really shouldn’t be that hard. They need to hire a PhD who could do this on a weekend.

      @sosgds  Před 4 měsíci

      Great question. The manufacturer does not recommend long use of the opener on an extension cord. Yet if the cord is a good thick gauge it will survive. That being said we encourage our customers to have a dedicated outlet installed. It's a good way to protect their investment.

      LiftMaster has 5 door profiles that are designed to work with specific drum settings:
      Door Profile 1 = Standard to Heavy Weight Door* with a 4" drum (Recommended).
      Door Profile 2 = Light Weight Door with a 4" drum.
      Door Profile 3 = Heavy Weight Door* with a 6" drum.
      Door Profile 4 = Light Weight Door with a 6" drum.
      *NOTE: Drum sizes may vary by manufacturer.
      For Standard Lift Sectional Doors:
      Drums less than or equal to 5", use 4" drum.
      Drums more than 5", use 6" drum.
      Standard to Heavy Weight doors are those with solid wood
      interiors, wood veneer exteriors, glass windows, insulation,
      and/or decorations.

      @stevebrown3615 Před 3 měsíci

      Ok, just didn’t see that in the thread. And yes, I’m well aware of the profile settings. My door would fall under profile 2, which I originally set it to. When the errors kept happening, I set it to profile 1 since the manual says profile 1 is “recommended.” As an aside, why would they stipulate that any profile is recommended if the door doesn’t fall under that category? This problem is clearly a flaw that Liftmaster needs to rectify. I called them once and the person on the phone acted like “what, what problem?” With all the negativity on line regarding this issue, I’m sure they are aware, and shame on them for not putting out some kind of bulletin telling consumers they are working on it.

      Wrong. The opener has issues that Chamberlain admitted but never resolved. I had to eat my opener which was professionally installed, Chamberlain slow walked me and finally ignored me. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Yes that's one of the things that we have done to get this wall mount garage door opener to work.
      But it begs the question that if we have to trick the opener to think that it's lifting a high lift door when in reality it's only a 12-in track radius I do have concerns. Specifically how is the software designed to know when there's slack to the cables. Theoretically the one or two door profile setting should be able to work within those circumstances. From what I understand the fifth door profile is for a different door configuration.
      At the very least I'm not 100% convinced how this operator detects cable Slack if it's on a completely different door profile.
