- Got my HKS single exit exhaust installed on my FRS. Shipping was super fast and was very easy to install. the rumbles out of it are amazing. Let me know what you guys think. Have fun!

I just installed mine and is loud asf. The droning is killer. I recorded 103 dB in the cockpit on the freeway. There is nothing “silent” about it. Did yours quiet down afterawhile?
2022 update: I replaced their pointless resonator with a “silent” one, and put the silencer in the back (I kno it lowers the power) sounds great now. I had no other options as ft86 speedfactory would not accept a return after installation. It still has more power than stock so idc. I’ll take it out for track days
Thanks for sharing, great video showing the work and results. Really appreciate the side by side comparison. That stock muffler is gargantuan. I also thought the side built resonator would manage the popping more.
Now that’s it’s broken in and pair with a front pipe. Has a nice little pop but nothing crazy during shifts lol

almost wish the muffler was coated too....I did my WRX w/the rear tires on ramps, and it was a tight squeeze to the front mid-pipe flange...If I had put my front tires on top of 2x 2x10 pieces of wood (cut about 12" long), I would have raised the front of the car 3 inches and given myself more room to work. Obviously a lift is best, 4 jack stands is next best, but if you only have two ramps or stands, adding the stacked wood under the front tires really helps.

Hi, how's the drone with this catback? Now i have a n1, and want to switch to a single exit but don't want to be louder/ have more drone.
from what I have seen on CZcams it almost feels like the N1 is just as loud lol. There is not much drone at all besides on the freeway.

Hey, I know I’m a bit late to the party seeing as this vid is a couple years old… but I’m wondering if this video includes a full hks exhaust? or if it’s just dual resonated front pipe and the single exit exhaust?
Just a HKS front pipe and cat back. Stock header, stock over pipe.
Did you use a gasket for the Downpipe?

Do you have UEL headers, if so how is the drone cruising around and on the highway for long trips ?
No UEL header, just a cat back and front pipe. Around 2k RPM it's has some drone for sure but at around 3k theres almost no drone. Seems like stop and go are louder compared to just cruising. Its weird to explain haha
Nice car, the result is very good sound. One question: When you change the dual exhaust exit for a single exit...your rumble become more strong at idle rotation? my subaru have dual exit but i want make my boxer rumble become more strong/loud when rotation is idle. (sorry for my english but i'm from the other country).
Oh no worries. Yea I’ve have seen some nice dual exhaust like the invidia N2 but the HKS and Greddy style single exits I feel have the best rumble. HKS even has a header to tone to the Subaru rumble if you wanted to keep your dual exhaust.
Rumble comes from unequal headers, the car comes with equal stock.

Yes. The aftermarket front pipe is same routing as OEM.
We’re you able to torque the bolts on the exhaust ?

how is it for daily driving?
Do you have a front pipe or anything? Just this wouldn't be bad at all, its loud on cold starts but I feel that's with any exhaust.
