- Buying a cheap house these days in the United States is challenging and homeownership remains far out of reach for first-time buyers. There are several reasons to why it's difficult to buy a house in the US nowadays. These include limited housing inventory, high inflation rates, high demand, rising home prices, tight lending standards, debt, and low wages. But then again home affordability can vary from one State to another, for example Property prices in States near the Pacific coast and Northeast parts is higher then in the Midwest and the South. While investing in a underdeveloped state may not sound appealing at first, but that doesn’t mean one shouldn’t consider options in more budget-friendly states.
In this video we have ranked 15 most affordable States to buy a house according to there median listing prices.

Houses are cheap for different reasons such as High poverty rate, unemployment, low pay, poor education ,awful weather, outdated infrastructure etc.
Average house prices in Vancouver Canada is $1.250,000 ,Don't get dizzy while counting those zeros.
I lived in Oklahoma for a few years and I didn’t like it. Reasons: Tornados after Tornados. Tornado Alley includes Northern Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas. Tornado seasons are from March - July and October- November. During the tornado seasons, tornado or severe thunderstorms can come anytime…and you can’t outrun them because they cover over so many counties (sometimes over 15 counties). The safest way is to have a ground tornado shelter. Also, low-paying jobs cause lots of people unable to buy houses (many live in mobile homes). Sorry, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas are not for me.
I don't know why scientists don't think ways to stop tonadose in US
North and South Carolina are the only two states on the list i would live in
SC is the very boring unless you live near Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Greenville or Rock Hill...dont move to Columbia it's dead as a whistle
If you like humidity and huge cockroaches they are great states to live in.
I was about to write exact same thing
Same, except only North Carolina for me. The Research Triangle is booming. I'm not interested in any of those other states. You couldn't pay me to live in Mississippi or West Virginia. 😂
I appreciate this video
How?
hi
Get what you pay for. Home prices is not the only attraction. No is interested in low-wage, rural, uneducated states with poor infrastructure and healthcare.
spot on
Still no timestamps for multiple items?
I like the look of the homes in Princeton!
Nashville is NOT AFFORDABLE for average working citizens. Since CA and NY has come property is outrageous for native Tennessean 😮
I agree. I’ve seen small two bedroom homes in Nashville for 500-700K. And don’t get me started with it’s suburb of Franklin.
Nashville is pricey......particularly for housing.... other parts of TN are definitely better.
Nice !
Very nice explanation can u make video on Canada houses
I'm surprised Wisconsin wasn't on the list. It's pretty cheap live in Wisconsin.
The statistical area that they would have to use is Metro Milwaukee. Housing there is not cheap. Regular house in a nice neighborhood is 425K and up.
All these track houses barely 10 feet apart with no fence in between. You get what you pay for.
Make video about city to buy cheap houses
Practically, 50k can get you a livable house in the countries of midwest.
I'm actually surprised that Texas wasn't even on this list.
Property tax.
@@gatekeeper3660 True. I live in Texas and property taxes are insane. Thinking of moving to Oklahoma in the near future. It has an income tax but the property taxes are low.
@@nikto-ky4kx Oklahoma is Texas light so you’re good. I lived in Lawton and it wasn’t as bad but the house prices are cheap. Military life so Ft.Sill and Ft.Hood.
Texas property tax rates are just as bad as Illinois
That’s because homes are expensive in Texas! Plus property tax is insane! If you live there you should know that!
Hey are you looking for video editor?
Thank you ☺️ Now I feel better than
Hey! I hope you are from South Asia. My family got $700K. Can we buy a house from south Asia and get the Citizenship there
My family got $700K. Can we buy a medium size house in California from another country?
wow your channel have a lot of subscriber
Wilmington sucks for so many different reasons but the beach is the only +
Cool 👍
Indiana is not landlocked. It has beaches on lake Michigan.
Landlocked means not next to the ocean. Lake Michigan isn't an ocean
right!
Indiana sucks
It may be cheap here to buy a house .... (Louisiana) but just .... no. Betweeen the flood insurance .... the horrifically low income rates across all industries .... this isn't just a Louisiana thing but its worth noting that across the gulf south you have to remember the attic is for the most part not usable because of humidity and we don't have basements .... like ... just don't.
The heat is the real issue. If you work remotely, the local job market doesn't matter as much.
You can always work remotely and no basement is needed.
@@missdesireindependance5194 for you maybe..... But the missing out on nearly a third of storage / living space for me added to the fact of insurance (both car and home insurance is through the roof), weather .... Even without hurricanes, The weather here is unbearable...... Are graves important? Because if you bury someone in South Louisiana... Especially in the coastal facing parishes ..... There's no guarantee it'll be here in 50 years. There are whole communities that are now n the Gulf that used to be thriving 50 to 100 years ago. And it might be okay for me .... Living here ... but it won't be for my kids and I don't want them to have to uproot and leave because I decided it wasn't worth the trouble now.
After being here for 43 years I'm just done and ready to go.
If my home is selling for $36,020.43 in support then it's okay to have support to buy.
West Virginia and Mississippi are the poorest states where they have vast population are uneducated. What can these two states can offer besides cheap houses?
Mississippi is beautiful!!! People have manners, greet each other, government should pay attention to the development of this state.
@@rimaljitanand5153thank you I live in Mississippi. I bought my home in 2017 for 265k it is appraised now for 375k. I paid it off free and clear. I live a low stress life, I love it. In my neighborhood most of the people are from different states
@@HN-db5cn And it is a great state for retired people. Air is absolutely clean and fresh. What else do we ask for in life? Low stress, clean air, no crazy traffic, clean roads, greenery, all seasons and breathtaking views of nature. So beautiful building architecture…..
Whichever conservative states that fight back against CBDC’s would be an ideal destination!
Oklahoma City. Californians are moving here. They are bringing their race cars here. Street racing is legal here. It’s cheap here. Cheap groceries. My neighbors from California. They are mad that they didn’t move sooner.
Hmmm, just because an area has affordable houses doesn't mean people want to live there.
Surprised New Mexico isn’t here
Not cheap no more
Sucks for a CA native like myself, CA is the “dream state” celebrities all come to LA, Hollywood etc and amp it up, other people from other states want to come to CA cause of beach, sun, perfect r weather yada yada and we’re the ones that suffer 🤦🏽♂️
How I come to there
"California native"🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
@@rituwebpro look up the definition of a “native” puto 😉🤭
I can buy one in a cheap price
But I find no job🤷♀️
*The rent is too damn high.*
How much is the rent?
I'm interested on investment
Ya'll need to learn to travel year round
New york is the most expensive 😢
No,it's not.
@@curtisthomas-eg4th really?
That goes to Hawaii
Paid 15 grand for mine includes price to move it on to my lot and set up for off grid. On the big island of Hawaii. Been living on it for 25 years now.
Did you buy a mobile home?
Yeah, it's almost impossible to do that today.
Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama are great places to live..
definitely!!!!!
Maybe move to Western Australia 😀
Are you serious!? Get locked down with mandatory vax?! Dictatorship and too hot AND too cold and extremely expensive! Let alone miles from anywhere else. Yes I’ve lived there…
Lol yeah the place known for cheap housing Australia 😂😂😂

Who want stay in the unsozial amiland answer nobody end
The first time I’ve ever hear this phrase, amiland
Great America lives in wooden sheds😂.
The sad part (for me personally) is that the vast majority of governing in these states are WAY too conservative for me to live with.
The reason we’re in this situation is because of democrats
Have you ever stopped to consider that there’s a reason for all of the conservative states being the best? Pretty simple really, liberals take take and then take more! Please- stay in your cesspool…..
What is that supposed to mean? Everyone is moving to conservative states for a reason!
@@ChipchopGaming Not everyone, I also would not want to live in a Republican lead state
Then get woke go broke

Compared to my country, France, they are still too expansive (and material house in USA are not so good quality, so I really dont understand the prices).
I start to believe liberals lied to us by promising property for all, 200 years ago :/
You're just starting to think that, huh?
Build quality is just fine over here, BTW. I'm not sure where you got that idea? As a bonus, homes here have air conditioning and garbage disposals in the sink as well as dishwashers and clothes washers and dryers.
@@adammckee3496 Oh in France we have the same more isolated because of the cold, but the houses don't cost more then 200 000 EUR outside cities.
I was in NYC, I was dispointed by infrastructure, ans I sse in US movie how look the housing... as French, I would never pay such money for this.
Currently I work in Poland, the flat is so warm and well isolated, I have to keep the windows opened in winter (and I pay 300 EUR/month...)
Uhhhh sounds like a magachud liar troll to me
I am in immigration and the way the French run for US green card/citizenship, the illegals on the southern border would feel proud of themselves!
Go to your home country and buy a house
The low cost is not the most important. Living in a state that strips women's rights, makes zero effort for medicare for all, makes anti gay and anti trans legislation, has sn embarrassingly lowscoring education system, horrific childbride laws, young age worker laws, anti union, etc is NOT desireable. Living in a miserable, mean, narrow-minded state is worse than living in a good state while having only a vehicle for a home.
💯 Also have to consider crime rates, gun violence, health rankings, obesity rates, teen pregnancy rates, transportation, and low salaries.
Is booze and smokes cheap…..?????????
Some states and counties are dry states on Sunday, meaning no alcohol sales. So stock up on mon-sat 🍻
Try Colorado
Tobacco is cheapest in Kentucky and Virginia cuz that’s where they grow it.
