Patrick, could you explain to me and to the rest of the viewers, how is it possible in your case to learn several languages at the same time and how are you able to maintain the knowledge of them? I've seen your multiple language video, from which I've understood you're able to learn at least two languages at the same time (f.ex. Serbian and Romanian). What's your secret giving the fact language learning is time consuming...

Hi Erik! Long time viewer, first time commenter.
You should really consider doing more videos like this! I've begun learning Swedish over the past year, and this video has actually been the most helpful to me out of all the resources I've come across so far. It's really great, the whole setup you have with the close camera mic, the uninterrupted natural conversation, and the text at the bottom edited for clarity. I've watched it several times now, and I'm finding that it's really helping me understand the finer points of pronunciation and flow in Swedish. Watching your other Swedish videos, Duolingo and reading Swedish articles have all helped me, but this feels like a special treat to get to hear and see the "real thing" instead of a contrived thing that's been put together out of context.
Anyway, keep up the good work with your channel in general. Your Swedish videos have been very helpful and a great source of inspiration for me. (they're also very funny and uplifting!)
    Ta hand om dig :)
    -Max

I have been in Sweden in last Summer, it was an amazing experience and i fell in love with the country, especially with Stockholm, but to answer the question, i felt a little uncomfortable sometimes when i was on the metro and i have sat next to a person and suddenly they just walked away, i thought i was stinks or something first, then i have just realised that Swedes are very distant

This is a super interesting video and lots of fun to watch. I am a native English speaker, learned Spanish in school for 8 years, and have recently been studying Swedish. I am planning on studying abroad in Madrid and dream of living in Sweden one day. I want to give special praise to the great care put into the subtitles. They really catch all the colloquialisms and subtleties in meaning - would be great for a learner.

Very nice interview....tack så mycket. I try to study Swedish (I studied during Erasmus period in Stockholm several years ago but I forgot a lot) because I love the sound of this language...the sound is very important... I remember the first time I take the underground: "Nästa station Gamla stan"... I start to love swedish listening the voice at the underground.... And when you learn swedish you can understand Norvegian and Dutch as well (maybe Danish, too).

He's not superhuman, he said one of the tricks himself: have as much exposure as possible, pay attention, travel, repeat, etc.
I'd add that the more languages you know, the more you can learn because of the language groups: for example: if you speak French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and to some extent, Rmoanian will be easy to learn,
Then, if you speak English and German, Swedish is pretty easy, you just have to learn attentively for a month to be good to go, and then, when you speak Swedish, Norwagian and Danish will be easy to learn( except for the soft 'D' in Danish lol)

Just before the chorus, the artist says things like "my air is yours, you are welcome in... etc" Then, I think they say, "Det är bara andas in." does this mean "Just breathe in." or "It's just breathing in." Or something else? Thanks!

Hi! Ambitious to translate it! Lyrics can be poetic and hard to understand in any language. It means "just breathe in". I haven't analyzed the lyrics really, but I suppose it's about being true to yourself and others, believing in yourself and follow your dreams and make them true. Take the others with you and everyone will win.

Erik Edler Thanks Erik! Yes, as you said, song lyrics may not be the best tool for learning a language, but I find that they are a nice change of pace from lesson books, vocab lists, TV shows, and novels. Often times I feel that lines/phrases from a song hold a more permenant place in my memory than lines/phrases from a novel, for example. Thanks for the diligent reply !!

    Italian
    French
I can read and understand romanian, swedish, norwegian and danish, but danish is the most difficult to understand cos it sounds like a different dialekt from norwegian to me.

Jeg ville si at norsk og svensk er dialekter :) Yo solo hablo cuatro languas fluidamente, pero también aprendí latin y griega antigua - pero eso no vale nada, weil niemand diese Sprachen mehr aktiv spricht. Sie helfen aber damit, europäische Sprachen zu sprechen (I can understand Portuguese for example, because just like Spanish it derives from Latin).

I don't think Mandarin will ever be a lingua franca. English is influential today mostly because of the exportation of British and American pop culture and now internet culture. So unless things change and China wants to open it self up to the world, the Chinese will continue to learn English to do business with the world.

The average person can speak 2 or possibly 3 languages, and that's if English isn't their native language.
If you know 6 languages then you are well above average.
