How to fix the black screen of death on an Xbox Series S console.

In this video, I show how to reset the display adapter on the Xbox Series S. For some people, this will fix the dreaded black screen of death. If this does not fix your problem, then of course the problem lies elsewhere. Such as a loose or bad HDMI port. Again, this method will not work for everybody.

They will not erase the hard drive. In other words, everything will still be there. 👍

My xss is that the controller indicator light stays on for about a minute after turning on, and then goes off. The fan stops rotating for about 15 seconds. Do you know what this is
Honestly, without looking at it in person, I don’t know what it is, but I can take an educated guess and say that it sounds like your HDMI port could be a little loose with the solder on the inside. It would have to be taken apart, and re-soldered for a better connection.

As far as I know, just a black screen. But you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.
Both methods do not work. I bought off an selling site. But the hdmi cable is a little loose, when inserted in the xbox. HELP PLEASE!

What exactly do you mean? There should definitely be a power button on your Xbox.
I tried all that on my series s & still nothing shows on my tv but the black screen…my series s literally just turned a year old a couple days ago & it sucks that I can’t even play the games anymore.
If that didn’t work, then you should try using another HDMI cord and then if that still fails to work, it could be your HDMI port has gone bad even if it doesn’t show any physical damage on the outside it could be that the pins are loose on the motherboard of your Xbox and it will need to be re-soldered.
I tried switching tv’s & HDMi cords but yup still nothing. I definitely think it’s the pins or something & you’re right it doesn’t look damaged but it’s definitely something wrong with the port inside.
Can’t get mine to work had it for the life me had it a month.. last and first Xbox I’ll ever buy

It’s not even chiming for me my Xbox just straight up turns off anyone else ?
For it not to chime is pretty bad that it’s not getting power or that the button is not working.
Mine did that and I air dusted it and worked like new.
