  • Bryan Hayes, Jonas Siegel and Jason Strudwick are joined by TSN Host James Duthie to discuss how monumental is the quarterfinal game against Venezuela, how Tajon Buchanan’s injury impact the team, the lack of media and fans that will be in attendance for the Canada, Venezuela game, a behind the scenes look at Free Agent Frenzy and more. The boys also chat about the heat on the Toronto Blue Jays management and coaching staff this season and do you trust this group to make big decisions on the roster prior to the trade deadline. They are also joined by Los Angeles Kings forward Warren Foegele to discuss the quick turnaround in making a decision in free agency, what lessons from his Cup run with the Oilers will he bring to the Kings, the decision to go to LA and stay in the division with his former team, playing with Drew Doughty, his summer plans in Muskoka, Ontario, the Hayes is a Fraud phenomenon and more.

Canada has a chance for 2 more games with a good performance tonight. But I would be shocked if they got better than 4th. They will have to beat the defending Copa America and World Cup champions to do it. Assuming they lose then have to beat another very good team to stay on the Podium. A semi final appearance at Copa America would be a phenomenal step for Canada for 2 years from now.

WIn or lose now, this tournament has been an absolute success. Canada has managed to play all 6 possible matches, so not only will they compete against Argentina for a semi final berth, they will later get to potentially play one of Colombia, Brazil, or Uruguay for either a cup or a 3rd place medal.
They have maximized every possible bit out of this tournament, couldn't have gone any better for the CSA.

Not likely they win. But they have already accomplished a lot and exceed most people's expectations. If they did somehow beat Argentina, it would be one of the greatest upsets in football and maybe sports history.

Sure, we can win... and I can win the 6/49 next week but it's not going to happen. This is Argentina, the WORLD CUP champions. They don't need paid-off refs to thrash us. This isn't hockey, this is soccer and that means we basically suck compared to the elite teams.

Of course Canada can win but the referees will try to decide the outcome. If Canada can finish all their chances they have a chance to go further. Again all teams have to respect each other. I don’t think they think they can win Copa America don’t put words in their mouths. Team refuses will not allow that to happen.

You're delusional. Sure, we technically CAN win but in the same way that I can technically win next week's 6/49 and it has NOTHING to do with the officiating. We're completely out of our league here, literally.
This is Argentina we're talking about here, you know, the WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS? Nobody in this tournament is a threat to them, except maybe themselves. If they self-destruct, we MIGHT have a chance but that's not going to happen. I don't think that we'll even be able to defeat Brazil for third place.
