As a fan of the game, im glad that Spain won. I could watch them play for hours, but get bored after watching england for 5 minutes. Intelligent and full of nous, throughout the entire team. They had to sub arguably their best player but still continued in the same vein.

They did not play well for more than 45 mins in any game. They have come up against 4 sides that, on paper, are equal or better than them and lost all 4: Croatia ,Italy France ,Spain New management needed.

You're being slightly polemic for me. England's depth is a disadvantage. Spain does NOT have tons of quality teams or competition over 4 divisions. Spain is better prepared because smaller clubs populate La Liga. By smaller I mean, less fans, smaller stadiums, less finance etc. This HELPS the top Spanish teams rest, buy the best players etc etc

I was lucky enough to watch Spain live for the first time in my life when they samshed Georgia 4-1. absolutely brilliant and for sure the best team in the tournament, England had no chance and as always are just overhyped and overrated
As a fan of the game, im glad that Spain won. I could watch them play for hours, but get bored after watching england for 5 minutes. Intelligent and full of nous, throughout the entire team. They had to sub arguably their best player but still continued in the same vein.

Spain is better prepared because smaller clubs populate La Liga. By smaller I mean, less fans, smaller stadiums, less finance etc. This HELPS the top Spanish teams rest, buy the best players etc etc

@@ReverZe83Premier league was the best league between 2004-2008. Then Spain took over from 2008-2018. Then with the new inflow of money the Premier league is now the best league again. Real Madrid and Barça are institutes by themselves and the entire make up of la Liga and the philosophy is way better. But with clubs like Aston Villa or West Ham being able to outspend Atletico, its hard to remain competitive in the long term.

It's not difficult to understand why English players can win the tournament.... fear! Every time they went behind they didn't have any more fear! The fear left them because if things stayed how it was, they would have lost, so in a sense, they're thinking "lets just go for it. What do we have left to lose!" They need need to start with that mentally!

lets not pretend England had a better squad. Spanish players are simply undervalued/underrated.
Anyways England has been poor since 2018 and they mostly lucked into getting far in tourneys. Southgate's record vs "top" countries 7 wins out of 27 matches, with most of these being friendlies or these countries being already poor at said tourney.

Spain won because they were the best side by a country mile. However, some of the anti English comments are a little bit harsh. Yes, they play defensively (they are professional players and do as directed) and yes they got lucky. But what of France, Portugal, Germany and The Netherlands? Did they all underachieve or did their true colours come through? Spain are a brilliant side with intensely talented players. Congratulations to a well deserved win. I'm English by the way.

Spain have a better team than England. Look at their midfielder depth. Gavi Pedri missing Rodri off at HT and they still had the quality to control the game. Plus of course their two wonderful wingers.
Cuz Spain has a lot more quality depth than a lot of people who only watches the Prem seems to realise. Nobody who follows La Liga is surprised to see Zubimendi replace Rodri that well btw he’s an absolute class baller for La Real week in and week out for them btw. It’s this kind of arrogant attitude towards other leagues and players in them which is the reason why England will never win anything unless this changes. You have to have respect for your opponents and do your homework before the game and England and English clubs aren’t the best at this whatsoever.
