The type of shoes you wear literally determine how your brain works (not joking).
All of this is explained in this week’s video… But it all started out after I suffered a foot injury, this injury led to chronic muscle imbalances, and other issues up the chain.
I set out on a journey to figure out how and why this happened.
On my journey I stumbled across Graham Tuttle, the Barefoot Sprinter.
His philosophy centers around wearing barefoot shoes, and living a barefoot lifestyle.
In fact he’s been wearing barefoot shoes for 8 years!
Some people even believe that barefoot shoes can change your feet.
So I hit him up so we could hang and learn from him.
He flew out to Austin to meet with me and I extracted THREE core tenants to help you move better, restore health to your feet, and get back to being an athlete.
So check out this video to learn from Graham, just like I did.

Im now 4 yrs into my journey and i know there is alot more improvements coming. Ive reversed bunion onset, i exclusively run in vibrams, my feet are becoming like hands, my ankles are like steel, but spring loaded like a pogo stick. I’ve always had weak knees, or so I thought.. but recently I started wearing barefoot shoes and since then I did not have any issue with my knees, no sprains or anything. I’m just figuring out how important it is to have healthy ankels and stable feets, so you can balance well, and have no problem with your knees. I used to do those medical gymnastics for my knees, but gosh if I’d knew that I should train my ankles and toes instead… and wear more footlike shoes.. to have better balance.. that would have saved me a lot of trouble…

Thin and flimsy flip-flops are superior to these overpriced and overhyped shoes. It's closest to barefoot, real freedom of movement for toes, thin sole. We wear it all the time in my country, whenever we are not actually barefooted, which is majority of the time.

I have been wearing minimalist Shoes for a long time, including the negative heel Kalso. My back and neck felt strong and good. Then I did something sort of dumb- I bought some work boots that had a giant leather heel and a steel shank in the sole( for support it says LOL --- maybe supporting the BOOT ) Anyways, I only wore them for five hours and walked a few miles and that was 2 weeks ago and I'm just now starting to work out the dagger in my neck. I knew better!!! I ended up taking them to a local cobbler that had a good reputation and he deconstructed it, took the steel Shanks out and replaced it with a flat sole with dirt tread for hiking and now my foot walks flat and can articulate and move while I walk. And all the while still have really nice thick leather boots with speed hooks that I can wear to work!!!

    Two questions,
    1. When I go out with open shoes my legs skin get dry and thick, which is not so esthetic, should I expect the same in the method explained here.
    2. Many of the most cheap shoes on the market, are considered as "low quality" and not appropriate for walking because they are flat and thin, usually chip flippers. They may be not selled as "bearfoot shoes" but are they actually bearfoot shoes in disguise?

I can't take this community seriously man. Barefoot shoes are DEFINITELY better for health and comfort BUT not for most high level sports performance and it's not eco-friendly to boot. no pun intended. Just market it for health.
The "Lebron's wrecked feet" argument is pretty damn stupid imo. the dude is 6'8" 280lbs. who drives like a freight train. Other smaller NBA guys had no foot problems besides common basketball injuries.
I agree that most sneaker designs look gimmicky but footwear tech didn't just stagnate since it's inception.
WEAR WHATEVER is comfortable but to "avoid" modern sneakers because you are "hypothetically" gonna do what LEBRON JAMES does in a basketball court?? utter nonsense.
I downright don't agree with some major points but for what points it showed on health, Great Video!!!

You look like you walk with a mid foot strike rather than a heel strike. Is that intentional? As a guy, into biomechanics, I practice Iyengar Yoga and we work those feet and I wash them and spread toes before bed and apply oil in the winter with reflexology. You can see that experts feet/lower leg are providing that cool springing action.

These shoes work with the Peloton bike+ (April 2022), czcams.com/users/postUgkxGPkov2mNjgZfG33r6Bwvies8jKE4AKZB and are of good enough quality. I have completed 10 rides so far and there are no issues. The first time trying to fit them on the Peloton bike took 10 minutes (even with the help of an experienced cyclist friend who wears the same type of cleats). It took a couple of rides to break in. After the first two rides there were no issues at all.

So much ado about nothing. Obviously that no shoes are better. Barefoot shoes are great for protection from cuts. If shoes were good climbers and dancers would use them. But they need strength on their feet, therefore, use something similar to barefoot. Point shoes are a torture. It needs another chapter.

I don't know how anyone walks barefoot. I can't even walk around my house barefoot the pain is so bad! The balls of my feet, my heels, my toe on my right foot just kill me! I have the luxury to basically not wear shoes the majority of my life, and yet, I have to. I cannot deal with the pain. I do agree that most shoes are horrible though. I have to wear really ugly, silly shoes with a thick cushion bottom to give me some relief. Running shoes are the worst! They are so narrow and constrict my toes so badly. It appears neither barefoot nor shoes actually feels comfortable on me. 😔

@t.8936 That's rough buddy... Feels like nothing you do avoid the pain fully. But what feels odd is that "au naturel", at home, you still feel pain. I assume you've gone and seeked medical help?
I wouldn't focus on shoes, barefoot or not. I'd focus on seeing why you feel pain when "existing" at home. That sounds like hell... Good luck!

I been doing barefoot 5 fingers since 2008 before this craze. Prior to that has issues and since then my foot and Lower body got thicker and more balanced. Less lower back pain unless sitting for too long. Maybe I should have gotten into this hype and sold stuff like everyone you posted because my benefits far outweigh what he's saying. In order to get strong feet is to sprint when you get these shoes and then take off to rest. Build up naturally while unde high load.
