  • This is a crappyass tutorial video on one of my first overdrive Bass effects I made that was inspired by the Ed Rec crew; Justice, SebastiAn and a couple others and I’ll also be showing how you can achieve a “similar” a effect to Sidechain in GarageBand. It’s finicky but honestly worth it.
Latest track I made using some of these methods: • King Cobra demo

This is amazing!!! Do you reckon Justice actually used Garageband to create Genesis?

I believe they used GarageBand on a multitude of the tracks on the Cross album, not just Genesis. Though I struggle finding one source that says one thing, they all vary slightly :) - but whether it’s one or more tracks, GarageBand was 100% used at some point in the album’s creation for sure.

1:23 was this part really necessary?

This is awesome! Thank you for putting this out. Do you happen to know the settings for phantom2 when it’s more high pitched and sharp?

I don't sadly, apologies. This synth isn't a copy of the phantom synth, but it's just a unique distortion synth to mess around with and make your own electro tracks with instead. I just chose the Phantom Pt 2 riff as an example :)

To skip the cringe fest: Actual Sidechain part starts at 4:13
