I'm the kind of guy who watched Vuelta a Burgos and E3. I'm definitely watching the Giro no matter who rides.
Hey, E3 is an awesome and big race! With a huge startlist too
That "Olav isn't a GC rider Benji. I keep telling you" joke got me lol. So quick haha
We need both Jonas and Pog to do the giro-tour double
Grand Tour anticipation fever is settling in now !
Watching this after the release that Pogi would come, and where he can attack😂😂
I feel like the Stelvio was put at the start of the stage so that if they have to remove it for bad weather it doesn’t ruin the stage. Otherwise they would have done the valley and then a double ascent
true... Stelvio could easily be cancelled. It's a great climb... in July not in May.
Yoo! how are you bro? Glad you liked it🙂 for 4 people: 4 bunches/plants of basil = 70 g, (leaves only); 50g of Parmesan, 40 g of pecorino; 75 ml olive oil; 40 g pinenuts; 1 or 2 gloves of garlic (you can make a garlicless version if you want, or you play with ingredients's amount to make it more/less cheesy/nutty/basily😂)
I mean, I was super hyped for the parcour last year and we all know how that turned out. The parcour next year, just looking at the profiles, doesn't blow me away, but hoping its the opposite affect 🤞
it simply depends on the riders i think. Imo the hindley carapaz landa edition also wasnt that exciting either but it had some decent stages with riders/teams trying things.
The Grappa stage will be decisive... It's a properly hard climb. First 12 km is just a warm up. After that it kicks up and holds gradients above 10%... This is the same climb where Nairo and Aru took 1 min on Uran and 4 min on Cadel Evans in 2014 ITT stage.
Jonas, Pog, Rog and Remco, all will be going to the tour....GC Kuss for the Giro!
Stage 15 looks like proper mountain stage from the late 90's early 2000's
Atapuma shout had me rolling I remember him on BMC what a time
41:00the Recanati region is actually called "Le Marche". The main city being Ancona but there are many small towns with a lot of history. Among them, Recanri is particularly famous as it is the birth lace of Giacomo Leopardi, one of the main italian poets.
They should cut stage 16 in 2. 1 climb time trial to the top of the Stelvio. Followed by stage 16b from Merano to Sankt Catharina.
Going to Naples and Pompei but not climbing Vesuvius 😞
Pogi and Jonas doing the Giro-Tour double, coming in a little weak for the Tour so they are at a similar level to Rogla, Remco etc might be the recipe for the greatest year of all time
GC Kuss to the Giro
I like that there are little transfers except before the last stage. It feels like a proper tour of a country. Of course the south is mostly left out as usual, but it's difficult to find suitable roads there. Also, two proper ITT should be the norm for a Grand Tour.
GC Ganna when stage 15 gets nerfed
Doubt any of the top 4 GC riders (Pog, Rog, Jonas, Remco) will participate unless they get a huge appearance fee. I expect this to be Ayuso, G, Yates, and the rest of the second tier to battle it out.
Yates is a better gc rider then remco
If G goes to the Giro, who leads ineos at the TDF ?
Doesn't really matter since they have 0 chance of winning it 😂
@@thibaultlacroix3180 Yates trackrecord isn't that great regarding GT's, you are now falling victim to regency bias with Yates doing his best ever GT this year (by a mile) and Remco having a lesser Vuelta after first targetting the Giro and WC ITT.
C. Rod quite obviously who was 5th this year Xd@@markdwelchforcongress4456
FYI Riccione is pronounced with a soft "c" like Ciao. If you use a hard "c" then it becomes another word entirely and saying that in Italy would be just like going to America and ask for a cigarette using the british slang for it😅
I wish the Giro was later in the year. They can't put proper mountain stages early on because of snow, so they either get left until the last week and the race is boring for the first two weeks, or they just aren't put in at all 😞
GC-Gana!
Off season pod idea - LRCP fantasy grand tour. Rog, Pog, G, Vinegaard, Remco all on the start line. Design the parcour that makes the best racing over 3 weeks

Already looked forward to this one!
Pogi in cold weather will turn to beast
So that you know, Riccione is pronounced "rich-chyone".
The way you are doing it, you are inadvertently using the Italian equivalent of f****t. Which normally wouldn't be ok, but in light of your innocence and obliviousness is bloody hilarious 😂
am i wrong but is the stage 13 profile wrong on the recording? otherwise great insight cheers lads!
The Livigno finish has got to be on gravel? And spending the rest day at high elevation could be interesting for recovery.
As always the race will be made by the riders. If Pogi has a 2 minute lead by the strade bianche stage, for example, i can see the peloton just letting a break go. I like the stages, but It all depends on how the races evolves
Missed you guys. Hope you've been riding your bikes.
i live in Semonzo, doing Grappa twice is vicious. Looking forward to it
I was hoping you did a review of stage 3 of Tour of Turkye. I was wondering how you would rank these climbers / potential. Also because Bora riders showed potential
It was very anti climatic, meh-type stage to be honest
I hope that Jumbo will send Valter and Kuss for next year Giro🤞
Kuss does them all 😂😂
Too much TT for GC Kuss
GCKUSS for the Giro.
s.Yates is 99% certain to do the TDF - Jayco liked his program in 2023 and want to repeat it.
Source?
I've been wondering if he will do the TDU next year. With Plapp on the team now they might give the local kid the GC slot? Presumably they send Ewan too
I expect Plapp to be the leader at the TDU - He's well suited to Willunga Hill.
TDU organisers confirmed Ewan will be at the race.@@KD_cycling
👋 Please place your bets on the Stelvio being in or out of the race. 🙂 Livigno sounds great but it is a big risk weather-wise
October 2023: "Olav isn't a GC rider, Benji, I keep telling you".
Meanwhile, two to three years down the road: #GCKooij
Vuelta 2027 kooij gets 30 min in a breakaway
I agree 💯 with Benji about the Stelvio abomination
As an Alpecin fan boy, let’s not forget the Zwift 2023 winner Vergalito for mountain breakaway stages
Forcola di livigno has not been opened in May since 2015 and one side is in Switzerland...
I think stage 20 is very very nice!!!
Also on my opinion you overvalue Sivakov, Almeida, Thomas - don't see any of them on the podium.
And Pogi for Giro would quite bad, because a boring Giro and Tour would become possible with that.
Pogacar also is still conviced to be able to beat Jonas head to head, i think.
I hope that LIDL-TREK sends a good Team !
this is the kind of parcours where the riders *can* make the race so I’m actually pretty hyped. The Olympics are definitely the best thing that could happen to the Giro.
Oscar Sevilla gets more coverage on cycling media nowadays than he did back when he was cooking the likes of Bobby Heras and Leipheimer in 2001 Vuelta.
Adding on to the (unpopular?) takes on Stage 16. What if the Passo dello Stelvio is closed, or anyway has to be removed because of inclement weather and unsafe conditions? With the Stelvio early on, the Stage can still be "meaningful", especially if they decide to add on from Santa Cristina (Passo Sella, Pordoi, Giau... there are plenty of options through Arabba and Corvara that would not overlap with Stage 17). Maybe for once they thought things through ...
Also, don't underestimate the last Kms from Bolzano to Fie'/Castelrotto/Ortisei - They are not inhumane, but not trivial either.
Jeez 1:22 long podcast letsgooExpecting some really nice analysis.
Sivakov , Jay Vine for the Giro GC UAE
Adam Yates "I would love to ride this Giro next year!". Tadej frowning his forehead. Gianetti: "I understand, [but you are not going, you have to work for Tadej at the Tour] but we have bigger objectives".
This will be ez job for GC kuss
Stage 20 seems bang on for Mohoric
I'm starting to think that in recent years the Tour has become harder than both the Giro and the Vuelta (it's always been the hardest grand Tour, in my opinion). Meaning that the riders are under more pressure to compete with each other and win, and there is simply a bigger audience. I feel like the Tour profile this year is more suitable to attacks from the GC contenders, and that the Giro and Vuelta profiles are less demanding. Case in point: on the first day, it's supposedly a hilly stage, but I don't feel like the GC contenders will do anything since the last climb is so far out from the finish, and there's only a little lip at the end. Maybe it will end up being just like last year, but who knows.
Has Grand Tour fever set in yet? Impatiently waiting on the Giro
were you on about the tour stage Pedersen won where Groenewegen looked very good
I guess you would be excited if the Giro would start in the middle of the Adria
The descent of the Forcola is almost a straight road.
Good job boys. Keen to know what’s your thought on other teams gc other than the big teams.
Bora, ag2r, fdj, lidel etc. who should go. Tao ? Ben O etc.
What about GC Kuss!!!
Vingegaard going to all three grand tours next year? Sepp did it and Jonas' wife was talking about this idea.
I think Vingegaard will attempt it at some point but I don't it will be next year.
If Vingegaard is going to ride a GT, he is riding it to win it. While I have every respect for what Sepp did, it's much much harder to win all three GTs in one year than just riding them. Tour de France is Jonas' biggest obstacle. Honestly, if Pogacar didn't do any GTs next year, I think Jonas would have a real shot at winning all three.
Riding a GT as support and racing a GT to win are two very different animals.
No mention of a possible GC Kuss for Jumbo at the Giro?? Not an ideal parcours but dare we dream the eagle flies free?
Impossible with the amount of flat TT kms. Also Kuss doesn't like the constant stress and pressure. I'm betting on Kuss to pull Keldergoat to a revenge GC win.
I don't think that Pog does the Giro. Having lost the last two editions of the TdF, he will be needing to win that one, that will be all that matters to him next year.
I think he'll also want to be part of potentially the best battle the TdF has had in years (startlist wise).
In my opinion, Pog will be more interested in OI and WC road races next year, if he in addition also win TdF, so much the better, but he will not bother with that...
Stage 16 would be the perfect stage if reversed
I think Arensman could podium this Giro.
Maybe they put stelvio like this so they can easily skip it in bad weather without gutting the entire stage
that stelvio stage is screaming for some coppi like attack but shit aint like that no more
sharing Benji's pain about the Stelvio disrespect!
Grande partenza in Hungary should be in 2020 but it was cancelled since covid.
Tschuu tschu tschudor train
🚂🚃🚃🚃
Not enough TT kms, should be 100km at least
Vingegaard would win stages 7 & 8 back to back, also Stages 15 & 17
Stage 8 is a laurent dufaux stage.
Stelvio polka dots battle
Pogi probably should go. It would probably, most likely kill a lot of excitement for the race though, might even ruin the Tour aswell if Remco or Rog ain't no match for Vingegaard (I don't think Pogi can be fully fit for the Tour after the Giro).
WvA should ride for GC. He could definitely podium
The livigno stage (15) would not have happened last year due to both snow and Swiss police... but last year was a year with extremely late snowfall in Italy so maybe... let's hope for it
PS. Recanati region in no such thing, Osimo is the big city (Tirreno 23, penultimate stage)
Bora will blitz stage 16
Agree with everything Benji had to say about the Stelvio (“I love the Stelvio” :D). It really is a crime against humanity to use it like this. Only thing I don’t agree is their final verdict of 7.5/10. This parcour doesn’t even pass 4.5/10 for me. So many nothing stages and nothing burger climbs.
A 38km TT is not a long TT. If you think that is long you are just not old enough! :P 🙂
Pog will think abt olympic and world cuz world next year will be hilly
The riders might make the race but the excitement before the race is also important and the parcours don't have that.. Less excitement and anticipation in preview of stages for sure.. Too many sprinters stages
So... Remco bait?... Cool 🙄
I'll be happy if it just doesn't piss rain every single stage like this year
no way bro said ricchione lol, all italian listeners laughed at that moment i can tell u that
Utterly crappy parcour - not enough climbing - too much in time trials. Good for sprinters but, well just plain boring.
There's no chance Pogi does the giro so stop with that 😂
#catkiller
1. Remco needs to stay out of Italy for 2024, unfortunately he is cursed in Italy. Please do RVV Remco please, try Italy in 2025.
2. How much of a "classics season" will Pogi do? MSR? RVV? Ect
3. Bora will go alllllll in for Primoz at the tour with the best team, Bora will send their B team for the Giro if they do GC, Welsford sprint team is a good option, good call LR
4. Jorgenson will be attached to WVA hip during the classics so he will be resting for the Tour team.
If Pogi does Giro, then I very much doubt about RvV.
Think his season could look like this:
-a race in february (Andalucia/UAE Tour)
-Strade + Tirreno
-Sanremo
-Catalunya or altitude camp
-If no Catalunya, then certainly he'll do a race before the Giro: Alps/Romandie/Liege
-Giro
Olympics
-Vuelta
Fyi: Riccione is the municipality, "ricchione" a derogatory for homosexuals... better not confusing one for the other.
Cannot see Pogacar doing this Giro, if he still wants to do the Tour.
Even the classics season races will be in question. If he wants to stand a chance against Vingegaard, he will need a preparation at least as good as the Dane.
Pogacar doing the Vuelta would be more likely than doing this Giro.
+ 1 for Torino as the start and iconic start location. 😀
