I usually wait for games like this to go on sale, but this game is already very reasonably priced at $15. So it's a day 1 purchase for me.
That’s what I’m saying!
It's day 1 Gamepass. So it's free for me.
Did I see you somewhere else?
Update, I don't regret my purchase at all. Eiyuden Chronicles Rising is a contendor for game of the year for me. I love RPG's with lost of side quests and collecting and Eiyuden Chronicles Rising has plenty of that.
It's $10 now on the eshop
Fair review, fair price. Guess I'm getting this today for the Switch
Thanks for the review.
Thanks for hanging out
I got it for 92 cents excited to play it
Omg this art style! It's so beautiful
I agree!
Looks ok. Might buy if it gets a physical release.
Fingers crossed
For 15 bucks this is a no brainer. I'll be downloading this today.
Yay! Let me know what you think
Wow I had no idea the game had town building mechanics in it. I've only ever seen it advertised as a 2D action game but maybe I missed it
Yes and how will you build the town will have bonuses, items and effects on Eyudein Chronicle when it drops. Data will carry over!
You have to clear certain missions and it also matters if you complete the entire game. But yea a couple things transfer over :)
Weird. I hadn't heard anything about the combat but kept hearing town building
It's actually more 2.5D, which is just a sidescroller in a 3D world, and it's more than an action game, it's a true beat em up jrpg sidescroller
Can't wait for Hundred Heroes!
It's like $3 on Black Friday sale right now.
Now that I think about it, IGA was in the initial trailer for eiyuuden, no doubt he had a hand in this, because of that I expect a good game at worst, and very fun at best. hope this is on ps4.
It is!
Glad to have been a backer for Hundred Heroes, and snagging this for just seven bucks.
But as always, great review NP, keep up the good work!
As a backer, how do you honestly feel about the fact that they added Eiyuden Chronicle Rising to the Kickstarter at the very last minute before the campaign was over and then used some of the funds people had donated for Hundred Heroes to make this hack n' slash spinoff instead? Keep in mind that voice acting was originally a stretch goal (one they met) and that suspiciously disappeared after they decided to make Rising. Hmm...
I knew nothing of this game. It’s existence, its predecessor’s existence, nothing. Until I randomly saw this video on the CZcams scroll and watched it. Now I can’t wait to play it. Lol. I love when this happens.
I hope once the main game is released that this will be included as a physical release too.
I doubt it, welcome to the digital age, if you think this is bad, most publishers are pushing to just include redeemable codes instead of discs to save money, it's bad enough we stopped getting the game data, updates and dlc on the discs, now your basically just buying the license to play the game on disc, you still have to download everything from the internet, we are no longer buying games, we are buying permission to play it, but the way it's being set up now it's not so bad, now if you activate your console or PC as your primary then it automatically downloads the licenses to your hard drive so as long as the games, updates and dlc are already on your hard drive you don't need internet as long as there's an offline mode, this obviously doesn't include always online games and live service games, so even if say the Sony or Nintendo servers magically shut down you should still have access to whatever is on your hard drive, that's why I backed up my entire PS4/PS5 library on an external SSD including updates, dlc and save files
Red Art Games is releasing this physically.
@@mathewhosier9739 Unfortunate that Sony is no longer putting game data on discs. At least Switch games are still included on the cartridge.
There is a physical version u can order
It's an ok game , very repeative side quests which involve collecting materials etc. Don't think I'd buy it but happy playing on gamepass
Why was Isha not in this video like at all
cool
Totally :)
I'm from the future: Yeah, about Hundred Heroes... I hope on one's holding their breath
About how long is this game? Thanks!
Eh 8 - 15 hours. Depending if you watch all the scenes and get all the stamps
Like 10 to 13 hours according to the playthroughs already available.
They handled the Kickstarter so poorly and I'm waiting on key(s) for this (got a used dupe for Steam so there's that?) and I'm trying not to pay another $15 just to play this. Looks awesome.
These 2 games might not be in the same sub genre, but they are definitely both jrpgs, one is a 2.5D action beat em up jrpg sidescroller, and the other is a 2.5D turn based jrpg
It's alright but it could've been more in my opinion. It's $15 though so I guess it's ok?
It does get monotonous quickly.
2:42 you mispronounced Garoo’s name
This game makes me kind of nervous for hundred heroes, I think it's lacking with the story, characters and world, I definitely love the combat and character progression but I'm assuming some of these elements won't carry over
Honorable scavenger *
“Garow”? Clearly somebody missed the joke.
It's embarrassing how long it took me to get the joke.
PS4 PS5 Nintendo Switch Eiyuden Chronicles Rising 505 Games Red Art Games
All of the handhelds had the best fighting games on them 😐 TEKKEN and DEAD OR ALIVE on the psp , 3ds , ps vita and the wii u !!!!!! IT IS TIME FOR TEKKEN 7 AND DEAD OR ALIVE 6 TO BE ON THE SWITCH !! THE SWITCH IS BECOMING THE BEST HANDHELD OF ALL TIMES !! AND IT DESERVES THE BEST !!! 😡😤 SO MAKE IT HAPPEN NINTENDOOOOOO !!!! And don't forget about the rest of resident evil games !!!!!!!! 😤 #bandainamco #koeitecmo #capcom
I have high hopes for the game that follows this one that it more Suikodien-like. This game is a hard pass for me as it looks like a chore to play.
If you plan on playing Hundred Heroes, I would just put this on easy and play for the story
Personally I'm a furry and seeing Anthro characters in this got me interested and after seeing the trailers for it I was sold. Been enjoying this game the last two days. I LOVE town building games even if i'm not controlling the town directly. I love watching your characters grow both in your moveset and emotionally as they learn about each other and themselves. CJ's plucky nature as a naive adventurer is fun when balanced with the serious Merc Garoo whose always scolding her while Isha is a fun balance between the two trying to keep the peace and everyone level headed. The battle system is fun and rewarding and the more you play and upgrade the more experimental you can get with combat which i love. I know this game is a prequel and a slight different genre then the next game coming out but this game is definitely a wonderful preview of the world of the game to come and i cannot wait for the next one!
As a side note, i HATE Puppet Style Animation normally but because of the games presentation and charm I can forgive the character animation style when the game is so much fun to play.
No physical no buy
No digital no buy
No Dante from the Devil May Cry series, no buy.
There is a physical version
@@redcrimson1028 yea, now there is. Coming in March. 9 months ago it was digital only. Also it’s currently on sale in the eshop for $10. The physical version will be $35 which is more than double the normal eshop full price.
you expect publishers to manufacture a 15 dollar game? they would never ever make their money back. as much as I love physical it's just not in the cards for most indies/low budget games unless they blow up then MAYBE they'll get a special physical release.
