    I wanted to thank you for the tutorial, I just replaced the battery on my Corolla. But I wanted to mention, for the model year 2020, the H5 grouping is too big. A 2020 takes an H4. I measured the H5 and all the dimensions are the same, expect it’s an inch longer. Just thought I would add my 2 cents in case anyone else with a 2020 Corolla needs to change their battery. Thanks again 👍

      It may depend on the exact make.
      My 2020 LE took an H4, but higher specs may use the larger batteries.

    I verify this video best way to do it. Some other videos do not release the lever and force it open which could damage your car.

    The H5 battery is over an inch and 1/4 wider in the front than the H4 which is closer in size to the OEM battery but it looks like it fit ok into the battery tray. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Am I correct?

      Hi Nickmashek6869. It appears that different regions and Corolla trim levels have different battery sizes. Please get the appropriate battery size for your configuration. Thanks!

      I have a 2020 Corolla LE with the 1.8L engine. I’d like to install the H5 battery with its higher CCA than the H4 but it’s a bit wider. The H5 you installed seemed to fit perfectly in the tray. What trim level was the Corolla in the video?

      Hi Gearup. I'm not sure, I don't have that feature on my car. That said, just a few weeks ago, I did just make a video on a car memory saver to which keeps all your settings while you're replacing your battery. I used it for my Honda Pilot and I didn't need to enter the radios security code after replacing the battery. It was < $20 shipped. I hope this a little helpful.

    I replaced mine tonight and the check engine light came on, the car was kind of hesitating, and then once I started driving it all these lights came on my dashboard. We did the negative terminal first so I’m not sure if that made a difference

    • @geecrawdad
      @geecrawdad Před 4 měsíci

      You're probably ok now but the factory manual states that the Steering Sensor Zero Point Calibration needs to be performed after a battery disconnect. Not doing so affects the Lane Control, Pre-Collision in gas models and the Lighting System in those equipped with AFS and EXT.

    I followed all off the previous steps, then after I loosened my positive terminal nut, my terminal still wouldn’t budge? It feels like it’s bolted on where that screw is. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @BIsForBudget
      @BIsForBudget  Před 2 měsíci

      Hmm.. Not sure, All I had to do was release the lever on the back and back off the Positive terminal nut. The assembly then just lifted up and off. The terminal possibly sticking to the post? twist a few times to release?

    Do you know if the 2020 Corolla XSE requires a different battery type? I went to 4 different Sam's Clubs and one Auto Zone and they would say they had the battery in stock, but once they opened the hood and saw the OEM battery they would quickly say they don't have the battery and would refuse to touch it. I ended up at Walmart of all places today and they used this same battery used in the video, installed it and it started/worked fine and I didn't notice any updates needed to the computer to my car? Does it matter if it's an AGM battery for an XSE? Has anyone else had this reaction when they would take their car for a battery replacement?

    • @BIsForBudget
      @BIsForBudget  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi surfsexsea! That's interesting. I knew which group size/specs I needed, so I just pulled the correct battery out of the rack at Walmart. The batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls, which I've had good experience with in the past. My Corolla is an SE, but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary with the battery. The factory battery wasn't AGM, so I opted for a standard battery. Maybe the module above the Positive Terminal threw them off? (shrugging shoulders).

    • @surfsexsea
      @surfsexsea Před 10 měsíci +1

      YES! I was thinking the same thing! Either that or the white color of the original battery that came with the car.

      Base model hatch has different battery too, get either h4 or 121R, 121R you might have to adjust or cut out your battery hold down a bit to fit perfect.
      H4 only available at the dealership in my area

    I believe the spray is supposed to go on after everything is tightened, NOT directly on terminal! If it is dielectric, remove it!
