    Honestly,this is an unexpected bop from Estonia. This song feels very current yet it has that distinct Estonian flavour which is what I am looking for in fun entries that's participating in Eurovision.

    I actually like the chaos, it's raw and authentic. I feel Eurovision is too staged and carefully choreographed - most iconic fun songs from Eurovision are messy. Btw the dance they're doing is kind of a traditional dance from the same place the old instruments called "Talharpa" is from.

  • @kaktuspff6196
    @kaktuspff6196 Před 3 měsíci +25

    This staging is 5Miinus style. But you described it beautifully - this year Estonians didn't care about Eurovision, they chose their favourite song what probably won't get high scores but will show our music taste. 5miinust and Puuluup are very popular and loved by locals so their win is didn't surprise anyone.

    Ahh as an Estonian I think you got the vibe better than some Estonians 😅. Obviously they won because of 60% majority public vote but for some it's a joke entry similar to Windows 95 from Finland and I'm glad that people recognize it's a good vibe and energy tune, not a joke. Personally I only listened to puuluup before because not fan of rap but this mix made me appreciate another style and that's what Eurovision is about. 😊
    Appreciate your reaction, love 💜

    This is a very intelligent analysis of the situation. Plus you sing it beautifully. To me, as an estonian, it means that you get the essence of songs, being above nationalities etc. The song is about not doing drugs. You got the point and gave an intelligent analysis. 12 love points from Estonia from me to you😊 You go girl!

    I'm not surprised they've won but vocally... some moths to go. Somehow I love this entry but good enough to root for? I know I have to wait for Lithuania and Moldova this night and I'm still waiting for THE song.. But Estonia: be proud. If performed well this will resonate this year. And @Alesia: 25.7 subscribers! Even more than Eurovoxx. Not bad for an American gawl.

  • @0626love

    The title of the song, more clearly put, says "ahh, those drugs, we know nothing about drugs, what even are those" - which literally could mean "what are even drugs for", "we don't need those", "we are high without the drugs" - all this could be denying the use of drugs actually - playing the dumb about it (for police or audience), but IF you literally believe them what they say, then it could be interpreted as they are high even without the use of drugs (from music, Lay's, soda or life itself) - so it depends whether you believe them or accept the lyrics to be an irony -
    some of the line in lyrics mean "its okay if police comes and raids our summerhouse", "oh, but get rid of that bag", "I can't even distinguish between vitamin and speed (amphetamine)", "I don't know any drugs, I know lemonade and cider", "button mushrooms, where is your mycelium".

    Estonia doesn't have a budget. That's the entire reason for not having two semi finals and they have tried to cut costs as much as possible this year. Not only for Eesti Laul, but their TV and radio program as well. ERR's budget issues have been a topic for years and if you compare the past few years to Eesti Laul 2017 for example..there is a clear difference.

    • @lilleke80

    The song is good and probably was Estonia's best choice but their performance, just like all their previous ones, was really bad. The styling and staging are all wrong and none of these men have the stamina to stay on pitch and key. The bearded guy is drowning in low notes while the long haired guy can't scream his high notes to save his life. It’s super messy.
    If these were 6 women people would be tearing them to shreds. It's barely better than Blanka last year, but unlike her, I doubt they are gonna be disciplined enough to hit the gym (both the literal and the vocal one) and sort this mess out. I'm super disappointed.

    • @bhd_heel
      @bhd_heel Před 3 měsíci +3

      You think this is messy? what about Czechia's?

    • @williamdacic
      @williamdacic Před 3 měsíci

      @@bhd_heel I never mentioned Czechia. One doesn't negate the other. They are both messy. I think it's safe to say we all expected more from 5miinuust & Puuluup than we did form Aiko. And on top of that I have much more confidence in Aiko to take it seriously and work her butt off in order to improve her performance than I do in 5miinuust & Puuluup...
      I'd love to be proven wrong because I want to like it.
