I feel like they are missing the point. There are COD fans out there, like me, that don’t like multiplayer. I play COD for the campaign, plain and simple. Sure I’ll dabble in multiplayer and zombies but I don’t stick with it. I’ve played the beta for Blackout and, quite frankly, it’s gotten boring after a few games. This will be the first COD game I don’t buy, which is disappointing.
Am pissed they only have cut scene which lead to multiplayer game. I love call of duty for the campaign mode because I love movies and graphics. So this will be one I don't buy.

There was a campaign that got scrapped and turned into a "solo mode with narrative elements" and the time and effort from the campaign went into Blackout. Admittedly, Blackout might be a great new game mode for CoD, and it could be a lot of fun. But other devs, like Dice, are doing MP, Co-oP, BR, and still having a campaign. And maybe Dice has made some bad PR moves, but they're giving much more value to players this year.
But aside from these other games, my problem is with 3A/ Activision. It will cost someone a small fortune to get all DLC, and they'll still be bombarded with Micros, if they want to get new skins and things. Free-to-play model, in a full price game. It's just wrong.

Just tell the truth, you didn’t want to make a campaign, and for fairly good reasons; you focused on making Blackout and new zombies maps, as well as making multiplayer a main focus. Stop beating around the bush and just own it, you didn’t want to make a campaign.
Side note: Not to mention all the hate that was received from black ops III’s campaign that sucked and no one liked. I’m sure you all just thought screw the campaign then.

@@Saeed-jn8gv I like Black Ops III's Campaign but the Campaign in BO3 as a whole was structured weird. In Black Ops 1, the story and how it unravels was structured straight forward. There was nothing weird, hidden in texts before the mission starts. You were simply strapped to a chair, re'living Alex Mason's memories as he ventured from Vorkuta, & how Reznov got stuck in his head with all the numbers. In Black Ops 3, we were re-living Taylor's memories while having Goh Zhu Lan and her mercenary group of the 54 Immortals to face, discovering a CIA Black Site buried deep within the Coalescence Headquaters, discovering the CIA had conducted experiments on humans during the project gone wrong, while hunting down our old partners for leaking everything out to the world. While there was an A.I software spreading through the Direct Neural Interface and corrupting the Black Operatives. Black Ops 3 had one of the sickest stories, but it's Campaign had an awful pacing, and had an amazing soundtrack.

Multiplayer and Zombies are effectively just a DLC map pack for BO3. There's no gameplay or graphical improvements. The only changes to the gameplay are things taken from Infinite Warfare like the grappling hook and stim shots, even some of the animations are very similar if not the same. Some of the multiplayer maps still feel like they were partially designed for wall running or double jumping early on.
Heh if they had a GOOD single player mode, people would keep coming back for more
I love Treyarch and all of their entries into CoD, but I don't believe this for a second. Activision probably told them to scrap it because it was 'way out there' and probably too complex, narratively, for general audiences. If the leaks were true about time travel being a core part of the story, I'd say this was definitely the case.
Also just imagine the response from fans if time travel was introduced, probably more dislikes than the IW trailer, which is just sad.
I think the case is that while they worked hard on blackout and it is a solid mode from beta receptions, Having an online mode instead of an offline mode is more profitable and Activision forced them to do this and they have to agree to it whether they like it or not
Nawaf Dallas campaigns don't need to be offline modes dude. Look at Halo for example. You can do coop on any difficulty, you can turn on skulls (difficulty enhancements), turn on medals, and even have a scoring system for both players. People are trying to defend blops 4 but all they did was take the easy cash grab. Blops 4 should not be called black ops.

The black ops 2 campaign was one of the best campaigns in a call of duty game so I was pretty disappointed with how horrible the campaign was in BO3. But I would've wanted them to make campaigns good again instead of abandoning the idea completely.

Zohan Cargotis - I’ve spent some time with the beta and so far it’s a better version of PUBG. I’m guessing the graphics will get an upgrade with the retail release along with the net code. They are a bit of a letdown in places right now.
I do like the incorporation of zombies within the map especially at the Asylum area. With that said, I don’t feel compelled to keep playing the Blackout mode ”yet”, but will continue to keep at it until the beta ends.

Smh.....$60 game....that offers little to us. Look at EpicGames for example, they made BILLIONS just for making their game free and made money for freakin V-Bucks. Why wont Activision do that instead making every COD game worth $100 plus with season pass. Look, I preordered BO4 just for zombies and and Blackout. My honest review about Blackout is amazing. They did exceed my expectations. I like some changes in their new MP, but not a fan of BO3 specialist's and the new health regen. If they gonna do that much changes in the game, then they should really focus on changes with their game pricing.

I'm still confused with the initial tag line they had on the teaser trailer. They showed campaign stuff from each of the previous Black Ops campaigns, then finished with "Forget what you know". I remember fans going nuts wondering what Black Ops 4's campaign was going to be like. I haven't seen that much excitement for a Call of Duty campaign since probably Black Ops 2, but then it turned out that there wasn't a campaign. Was the "Forget what you know"" line there to just say "forget about campaign"?
I don't really agree with what they said about re-playability. I still play the Call of Duty campaigns from previous games to this day. Those are some of my most memorable single player moments, and it's fun talking about the characters, and lore. I get bored of the online multiplayer so quickly, and don't have the time to sit and find a good team for zombies that isn't a bunch of kids that weren't even alive when Black Ops 1 came out. Even if I do find a good team, I don't have the time to spend 3 hours doing the same train running or corner camping wave after wave with no change in the gameplay. Plus in a few years the game will be hacked and modded to all hell, and have very little players and will be unplayable just like most of the other ones. The campaign will always be there, and many of us to this day will play a 10 or 15 year old Call of Duty campaign over the multiplayer. I'm not saying that Black Ops 4 won't be enjoyable for what it is (I'm sure fans of the new Call of Duty style and strictly multiplayer players will love it), I'm just saying that based on previous games, the game will be pointless and unplayable in a few years.

I never really played campaign anyways...I do like how you can get to know the characters though which improves the overall experience. Hopefully the mini-campaigns are something that all of the hardcore sp fans out there will appreciate.

I doubt they have the freedom to decide what to do with Call of Duty, most likely Activision says to them what they want, what they're willing to pay for.
Devs probably prototyped a ton of different ideas, copied concepts from elsewhere, they pitch what they consider the best ones to the higher ups and then they run with whatever the bosses tell them to do.
It's probably the case that their concept for a narrative driven game wasn't considered as marketable as the Battle Royale thing and they could see how popular that is so Activision said make BLOPS4 into that.

campaign and story are a big part of the package when it comes to call of duty. This new title should be a free to play game. I always enjoyed a Black ops campaign. There explanation didn't sound so convincing at all.

You enjoyed the BOs campaigns back when it wasn't conclude it. It ended perfectly with BO2. I don't really want them to mess that up. BO3's campaign was crap.
colin3ds That's because the storylines people liked are finished now. The MW and BO storylines are done and they ended in a great way. People used to be excited for those campaigns because those campaigns were good. The ones we had after BO2 are the ones that aren't that good and because of that, nobody really has any interest for those campaigns.

People are bitching and moaning about no campaign but, for real, when was the last good cod campaign? BO2? The statistics show how few people finished the recent cod campaigns, but all of a sudden if Treyarch replaces campaign it's a huge deal and everybody wants campaign back.
Look sure a BR might be easier to create, but you can't deny Treyarch have done a bloody good job at it if the beta is anything to go by. Be honest how much replayability does a campaign have versus a BR? Not much i'll tell you that, not unless you're Doom which is the only fps i can think of with a campaign i'd gladly replay over and over.
I like campaign and was a fan of many of them.
Because we wanted BETTER campaign in addtition to BR, Zombies and other modes, not REMOVED entirely.
Infinte warfare had a good campaign so did ghost now those games multiplayer are a whole different story i think your confusing good campaigns with good overall games bo2 was the last good cod game we had with good multiplayer and campaign plus zombies

It's easy to say that, and it's a fair argument, except it's not fair to the developers. If you want a good, well made mode, it takes time, manpower and dedication. To say they should improve the campaigns is simple, but improving for most people is giving a new experience. That, while not impossible, certainly not for treyarch, puts them in the face of the community who let's face it, don't know what they want. CoD campaigns have tried it all and it's impossible to impress everyone.
With Jason Blundell behind the story telling, i guarantee they could have written a story full of time travel and multiverses and what not just like with zombies, guns from all sorts of time periods, make leaders who never met face off in alternate universes. That's the kind of crazy Treyarch would pull off. But you know what they would be told? That's not what CoD is about. That's the story aspect anyway.
You say you want fun and yeah sure, fun is at the core of every game, but because of the nature of the game, what people have come to envision CoD as, their options are very limited. It's come to a time where if a dev decides to do something, people instantly dismiss it as copying someone else. I could name many examples but this is already very long so i'll spare you the details, i just hope you understand what i mean. It's easy to ask for innovation, but when it's all been done already, no matter what you do, you'll get flack. So might as well get flack but insure people will like the new thing than go for a different take on a story only to be told ''You're copying Titanfall 2'' for example.
