Do you need to water Christmas Trees?

Water acts not only as a feed for the tree to keep it healthy, but also as a mechanism for stopping fire as the the fuel that is wanted to burn (Wood) is hydrated from the water, not allowing a fire point to be created. therefor, one of the items of the fire triangle is not available for the fire to use!
