    Thanks for the review. I just ordered the 2021 Madone SL7, same color as the 2020. It's beautiful. I made one change...I had the Bike Shop order the One piece Stem and Handlebar to replace that one that comes with the bike. It's a beauty. I'm really looking forward to putting it on the road. Thanks for the great review!

    That stem and bar looks out of place on that bike. The one piece aero bar and stem would look much better. At that price point it should be included!

      The SLR it is. On the SL they want cable routing to be easier and the ability to change cockpit sizes considering this is a stock bike

    I have this exact bike in a 62cm & with the lighter mechanical R8000 groupset with Ultegra carbon pedals it weighs exactly...9.22kilo.
    While it rides nice & feels fast, you can feel the heavy weight, especially on climbing.

    • @Jamesthebikeguy
      @Jamesthebikeguy  Před 4 lety +1

      More or less it is about modulation and limit braking capability. Basically you have significantly more control between no brakes and lockup. So makes for more confidence descending. The other major bonus is wet weather performance, and that it doesn't wear out your wheels.

      Have you tried? Doest stick abox the stem.

    • @iancanuckistan2244
      @iancanuckistan2244 Před 4 lety

      @@Jamesthebikeguy James, I helped a friend pack his Emonda (same seat mast as all the other Trek road bikes) into a hard bike box. We had to heat the box just enough so that it would flex to accommodate his frame. A soft side box like an Evoc is a much better choice for travelling.
      I'm also aware that the limited amount of adjustability of the seat mast will not suit some riders and also the fact that it only comes with compact gearing will not suit some other riders. Of course you can swap out the chainrings, cassette and go to a long cage derailleur.
