Heavy snow began early this morning across the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area, quickly accumulating on all surfaces including roadways. Roadways quickly became hazardous, and many cars are seen slid off into the ditch, one state trooper vehicle is seen being pulled out of a snow bank, and the weight of the snow caused numerous power outages and down trees across the area.
Seems to be snow everywhere but the Northeast. No complaints. I hope it stays that way.
I agree however sno pack they say is necessary but I'll learn to do without besides this summer seemed mostly rain with a chance of rain.

Days like this are a good time to just put on something warm, make some hot chocolate, hunker down, turn on the TV and watch the news reports of all the people who just couldn't wait to drive their cars into the ditch ...
Right up until the power goes out and then you are glad you have natural gas and a couple of wall heaters or a wood burner. If not you are in for cold 24 hours or longer. I have an old house with natural gas lines running to almost every room. If the furnace goes down I have heat and a gas water heater so I can get a shower and a gas stove so I can cook and bake or roast food.

Daughter and son in law stuck on route 3 near Locust Grove VA, since 6pm Mon the 3rd. They will have to stay the night at a gas station that is closed - No Power. They can’t get down county roads to their home. Gas station parking lot already full with other stranded passengers. I wish I could help them but I’m an hour away in Mechanicsville VA and no way to reach them. We only got 3 to 5 inches in Hanover county, an hour South of them. 🙏
The ironic thing is that they left NY early Monday morning with no bad weather till they got to VA and close to home at 11:30 pm.

It was ridiculous how many small cars were out driving in 8"+ snow covered roads! I got around okay with my 4x4... But lots of trees and power line down made travel slow going.

I live in Maine and it amazes me how this small amount of snow cripples other regions.
The problem is the storms here typically start as rain so there is a layer of ice beneath the snow.

We're getting a lot of people showing up in and around Phoenix that are coming from the colder areas. They say they don't want to go back because winter storms are becoming too bad where they are from.
My mom lives off rt3 in spotsylvania and hasn’t had power since 12:30pm 1/3. It’s 6am 1/4. Ridiculous situation with a foot + of snow.
Looks like typical moderate snowfall weather. It’s about time. The local municipalities will have the roads cleared within six hours and we will have beautiful snow covered countryside to look at

February 79’ I left Connecticut in a light snow heading to Maryland arrived to 32” of snow on the ground. It was gone in 3 days.

We all need to pray for the world. Because we're in the middle of the tribulations time. Therefore it's time for us to go after what we believe and show faith in our actions regardless the circumstances around us. Sometimes it takes awhile to get answers from God, but that doesn't mean we should give up on Him. On the contrary we need to have a never quit spirit and stay at it while we're waiting for helps to come from above. Because according to the scriptures, what we're experiencing in this world, It's only the beginning of all sorrows and there will be dark cloudy days ahead of us.

Plow drivers were not late to get in action, people need to understand that plow trucks can not do their job when foolish people refuse to stay home. How do you plow a road when there are cars spinning all over the place, stuck in the middle of the road, in the ditch, etc. You can’t drop a plow and pick up a huge pile of snow when you are barely moving. Then when you get moving, pushing a ton of snow, driving on a sheet of ice, the car in front of you slams their brakes. 90% of all local businesses were closed, where was everyone driving to? Trying to get home, cool I get it, but that was not the case for so many. Next time wait a few hours to hit the road and see just how much can get done.
