The Morecambe & Wise Christmas Show 1973
Starring Vanessa Redgrave, Hannah Gordon, The New Seekers, John Hanson, Arthur Tolcher, Yehudi Menuhin, Rudolf Nureyev,
Laurence Olivier, Andre Previn - Komedie
These hold up unlike a lot of comedy from that era. Love these 2 & their chemistry.
The greatest comedy duo in the history of the world with the greatest writer. Still funny after all these years. Top stars vying to get a guest spot. I'm not sure that these can ever be equaled. RIP E, E & E
Enjoying this this evening, Christmas Eve 2022!!! Mr Preview...Rudolf Nearenough...Menhuin...New Seekers....etc!.I WISH I could go back in time with my family when Xmas tv was so much something to look forward to....So much better than todays comedic rubbish! Brilliant!!!
Such a thrill to see Rudolf 'Nearenough' at 17:20!
Brought back so many happy memories. Thanks for sharing.
They are just brilliant. I spent many years when I was young watching their fabulous shows.😂😅😂😅😂😅❤❤❤❤❤❤💯👍🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
At 31 I was in love with Lynn Paul - still am 45-years later. Beautiful lady, beautiful song. Thanks for the memories ...
The New Seekers - thanks guys, you were great.
I fell in love with John Hanson's voice sometime in the 1950s when he sang at the Doncaster Gaumont Theatre. If I remember correctly, he was the prince in The Student Prince, though I might be confusing him with the Mario-Lanza-voiced-over prince in the American movie. I started my collection of autographs with Hanson's at the stage door afterwards, and it has become one of the unique things in my life, because I never collected anyone else's autograph. This show happens to be the very next time I saw and heard him. I trust that, via CZcams, it won't be the last.
Eddie Braben should have been knighted for writing such wonderfully entertaining shows for our favourite comedians!
They were the best !
Oh dear!!! I STILL so much enjoy their show and MISS them!!!!
Jo Mulholland i
They were wonderful shows
Josephine: "Have you got the scrolls?"
Wellington (i.e. Morecombe): "No I always walk like that!"
LOL! :D
Found this comedy gem from the BBC documentary, “Who’s Yehudi?”. This show is hilarious!
"Are you going to read your newspaper, or annoy me?"
" I can do both..."
The Hanson skit was quite amazing - Ernie sang really well, John Hanson was an excellent singer and Eric was hilarious!
There was a young lady from Preston
Who ran down the M1 with no vest on
Said a big hairy bloke
Just outside Stoke
"I've never seen one with a crest on"
Best line ever: "He's not going to sell much icecream going at that speed!" And why didn't we think two men in a double bed was..strange?
Because we were not paranoid, confused and delusional, convinced rapists and pedophiles live on every second street corner and that everything had to do with sex.
This is missing the Latin American Extravaganza dance featuring Eric, Herbie & Vanilla Redgrave. I wonder why it was cut from this repeat. Odd.
I miss them....
One of Vanilla Rednose's finest moments.
myaagh........................ perfect timing by the master.
This is not the 1979 Christmas Show, it is the 1973 Christmas Show. In 1979 they did not do a proper Christmas show due to Eric's heart attack and heart surgery that year, they just did an interview special with David Frost in Christmas 1979 when they were at ITV.
+John King Thanks John. updated :)
John King jjjnnnn
Ernie needed Eric to bounce off. Once broken it was never the same.
AndyRob.. To be fair he died an not for spite.
Vanilla Rednose can sing! 😄
Poor Arthur...
Sir Laurence Olivier is very funny in this show. could have been a comedian as well.
Hannah Gordon can sing quite well.
Whe did Ernie film those opening bumpers?
😂🤣😂
