The Morecambe and Wise Christmas Special 1970 with guests Peter Cushing, Eric Porter, Edward Woodward, Nina van Pallandt, Kenny Ball and His Jazzmen, and William Franklyn.
Ah....Morecambe & Wise.....the Christmas Shows. Everyone in the UK would gather around the TV at Christmas to enjoy the show. These two were not just comedians, they were an institution in the UK. No smut, no swearing, but wonderfully timed and performed comedy. This takes me back to a time when there existed true comedy giants, and Morecambe & Wise were in that category. Nobody does comedy like this anymore, simply because they are not good enough to do it. These two were the best. Truly professional and from the old school of comedy. As good today as ever they were......timeless. RIP Morecambe & Wise, and thanks for all the laughs. You were and still are the best.
They really did bring so much joy. Like Tommy Cooper Eric and Ernie creased me up and still do. Their humor is timeless, classic. It was clean, clever and silly and so so funny. I watched the shows with my Mum and Dad, brothers and sisters - it was a family event. Forty seven years ago.
Oh my goodness. I am just LOVING this. I remember many years ago nearly falling off my chair with laughing watching these two. What professionals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We watched this as a family everyone around now all deceased except me I was 11 - it was my last xmas before secondary school, as I recall it was cold icey cold as i went out to play football as you did took sweaters off to make goals...life was as simple as this comedy, yet the timing of these guys was impeccable, don't make TV like this, clean honest not your bloody Alan Chatty man crap. Those were simple times still families lived close by, Nina was smoking hot!
It was my last year of primary school before heading to form one at Wellington South Intermediate in 1971. Wish they would replay these on Christmas Day.
Thanks for the memories whoever posted this. Brought back many happy childhood memories! And as for the beautiful Nina she can pass of as supermodel now...
i was 7 when this went out. my dad let me watch M and W because he knew there would not be any of the vulgarity that you got on other tv shows back then.
_Good chair that is.. its Cedar wood that is_ "is it?" _yeah.. if you chip away the paint you can see the wood_ I saw this as a kid and it is funnier 50 years later
IThinkYouLookLarvely YES, he "tricked" them many years later when they had moved to Thames, he pretended to be asking for money for charity behind the door of 10 downing st. although only his arm could be seen until the joke unfolded...
+mhaíre 99 Eric Porter war ein wunderbarer Mann und Schauspieler. Schade nur, das in Deutschland so selten Filme mit ihm gezeigt werden. Hätte Ihn auch gerne mehr in so lustigen Rollen gesehen .

Our family jammed into the front room at my granny’s house and watched these Christmas specials.
Just like the song title “ Magic Moments”.
Thank you for the generosity towards us down here in the antipodes. Thank God for you and Eric & Ernir. When God made these he broke the mould.x
PS Nina von Palandt was magnificent.
PPS Who knew that the multiskilled Edward Woodward had such a sweet tenor voive??
Nina has got to be the most natural beautiful woman ever and what a superb deep voice... perfection wrapped in a single woman!
Such easy entertainment. Terrific guest including Eric Porter who's a revelation. M&W were truly wonderful.
The singing style of Nina may now be considered old-fashioned but beauty like hers never ages
+Peter Huxley I think she has a really rich voice. It's beautiful :)
Oh my goodness. I am just LOVING this. I remember many years ago nearly falling off my chair with laughing watching these two. What professionals. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I loved Edward Woodward he was my hero he was my equalizer R.I.P my darling Edward
In the days when "entertainers" had to do it all sing.dance, act - wonderful.

Eric Porter ist einfach wunderbar. Schade, dass er nicht mehr in so lustigen Filmen zu sehen ist.
Nina and Edward both had beautiful voices ....love them x♥x
50 years on Ann Hamilton and Nina are still going strong...
Eric brilliant and genius
Wonderful gentle comedy. Really hasn't dated in many ways.
Oh yes it has. A different era. Don't get me wrong, I loved these guys back then but times have moved on 50 years later.
the John Wayne bit is hysterical as the old guy is cracking up all the way through
ah the memories of having to be home ( as with the Forsythe Saga too ) to see this!
Thanks for the memories whoever posted this. Brought back many happy childhood memories! And as for the beautiful Nina she can pass of as supermodel now...
kenny ball and his band were awesome!!!! RIP kenny!!!!
Love the boys.
Just the best
God bless them.
What a gorgeous lady Nina is!
My mum was a big fan of Nina and Fredrich.
Indeed, a lovely lady with a lovely voice. They don't make them like that nowadays.
Totally agree!! Shame about Fredrick, gunned down with his girlfriend in the Philippines, apparently involved in organized crime
I didn't know that! What a tragedy.
Yes, it's so sad indeed!
What a young Kenny Ball. And yet he was the first of the Barber, Bilk and Ball trio to go.
Edward Woodward as an old style crooner.
Fab, really fab.
The master of this was Matt Monroe, even Frank said this.
These two make Ant and Dec look like amatuers
What a lovely show.
My first Christmas away from home.
I joined the RAF.
Oh Happy Days if I remember correctly.
@@Ystadcop It was a long time ago sir but thanks.
I didn't know Edward Woodward could sing!
He was a fantastic singer, he even released a few albums back in the day.
and beautifully....
My dear Lord it's Sherlock Holmes and Grand Moff Tarkin of the Galactic Empire.
i was 7 when this went out. my dad let me watch M and W because he knew there would not be any of the vulgarity that you got on other tv shows back then.
Brilliant comedy

love kenny ball and his band
He put his hat in the fire, about 48:08
Did Peter Cushing ever get paid?!
IThinkYouLookLarvely YES, he "tricked" them many years later when they had moved to Thames, he pretended to be asking for money for charity behind the door of 10 downing st. although only his arm could be seen until the joke unfolded...
+dlamiss It would be lovely if CZcams uploaded that scene for us, once again, to enjoy.
+Christine Hilton it was on here but think it was taken off for copyright reasons....
What a shame; it would have been nice to have seen it. Thank you. :D
Sigh. To go back.
29:38 any clips of ole blue eyes himself with our cilla?
That's not John Wayne, it's Bob Pope :)
Almost hidden cocaine reference at 1:08
Eric Porter was not only a brilliant actor but he was a bloody nice man as well.
But why the extremely unfunny subtitles during the Three Musketeers??
+mhaíre 99 Eric Porter war ein wunderbarer Mann und Schauspieler. Schade nur, das in Deutschland so selten Filme mit ihm gezeigt werden. Hätte Ihn auch gerne mehr in so lustigen Rollen gesehen .
A great show very very funny, but I am afraid. Ernie Wise is Nothing without Eric Morecambe
These two were never funny to me back in the day and are even less so now......
