  • The London Underground is the world's first underground passenger railway, having opened in 1863. Its 11 lines move about 5 million passengers a day to 270 stations, along 400 km (250 mi) of track.
The massive network of London Underground stations makes up one of the most complex transportation systems in the world, and On the Underground challenges you to develop it. Build the most successful lines, connect them to landmarks, and attract passenger traffic!
First published in 2006, this has been long awaiting a reprint. And now we have a beautifully produced, streamlined version. But was it worth the wait?

I hunted down a copy of the original a year or two ago through a trade on BGG. Mechanically there is hardly a difference between the two versions (or at least the London map in the new one). It’s nice to see it held up over all these years. Also like the new twists in Berlin, but the main thing is the production quality. I’m glad this got reprinted. Now the only question I have is: do I let go of the classic version or do I hang on to it for nostalgia’s stake?
By the way: Merry Christmas and keep up the good work in 2020

Thanks for this review Luke, I have been curious about On The Underground. It is definitely going on my to-buy shortlist now.

Great review again. Played the game myself three times now. Two times with newbies and it went very well. I have only one concern after the plays. In all three games the starting player lost with quite a number of points behind and it was not a newbie. Could be coincidence of course, but i got a feeling that it has to do with the endgame trigger and who gets another turn after this trigger.

I think they're just coincidence. I've won as the start player several times. The timing of the last turn depends entirely on how the locations resolve themselves.

First of all, Happy New Year and make season 4 as good as 3
Played "On the Underground" again and this time I won as first player. I watched the stack of upcoming cards way more so I knew more or less when my last turn was and could focus on points from endpoints on time.
I totally agree on player counts. It was a 4 player game with a couple of AP players and the down time was way to much.Still I like the game and it is in my top 10 of 2019.

The tower in London is the Elizabeth Tower, Big Ben is the name of the bell.

I was about to comment before watching the whole video. Exactly my thoughts on 5 player and lots of down time. Closer to 3 hours including teaching, setup and tear down.

Wow! I don't like 5 player but it never went that crazy! 😦
