      I love Michael Jordan; he is definitely my goat, but a big part of the Bulls' success was, in no small part, due to Pippen, Rodman and Phil Jackson.

    • @ScubaDiverPicker
      @ScubaDiverPicker Před 3 lety +18

      @@jamesbarlow3344Rodman was on the last 3 not the first 3. Here’s how you know it was all about Jordan.
      Finals MVP’s
      Jordan 6 out of 6 (6-0)
      Kareem 2 out of 6 (6-4)
      LeBron 4 out of 4 (4-6)
      Duncan 3 out of 6 (5-1)
      Magic 3 out of 5 (5-4)
      Shaq 3 out of 4 (4-2)
      Kobe 2 out of 5 (5-2)
      Also Pippen average 19ppg 42.5 FG% 1.9 Spg in his finals career. Jordan 34ppg 49 FG% 1.8 Spg. So really? Kobe had Shaq. LeBron had Kyrie who averaged 27ppg in the finals. LeBron had Wade who averaged 27ppg in the finals and Bosh who averaged 22ppg. Magic had Kareem. But Jordan had Pippen? Lol

    • @jamesbarlow3344
      @jamesbarlow3344 Před 3 lety +4

      @@ScubaDiverPicker I said the guy was my goat. But Pippen is way underrated imo. He was awesome. And Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all time with 11 rings as a coach and 2 as a player. No other coach has 13 rings. And Pippen's career stats, other than ppg, are right there with Jordan's. 16 ppg, 46% fgp, 6.2 rebounds and 5 assists. Jordan's are 30 ppg, 49% fgp, 6.2 rebounds and 5 assists. But, I would still say that Jordan is still the greatest, not just because of his stats, but also what the stats don't show. The stats don't show his style and athleticism. They don't show that he made those two points by dunking from the free throw line, or that he just made this dude fall over from an epic cross. Or those magic moments when he hit the game winning shots. He is the greatest to ever hold a basketball, and I don't think anybody comes close. That being said, the same can be said about the great Phil Jackson, whom Jordan had on his sideline. And I don't think Jackson or Jordan would have been as great as they were without the other. And Pippen was still awesome.

      Exactly! Jordan would easily average 50 ppg in today’s NBA. I’m getting real tired of listening to these dopey kids who keep trying to convince me Lebron is the GOAT. They don’t understand basketball history. Lebron plays in a soft era of load management where scoring for him should be easy yet he’s averaged less ppg (27.0) in his career than Michael Jordan did in his career (30.1 ppg). And let’s not forget that Lebron has played 3 more seasons than Jordan who temporarily retired twice before coming back. Let that sink in for a moment...

    His last season with the Bulls alone is one of the most legendary moment in sports history. In 1998, Pippen missed the first 35 games due to foot injury. But despite that, the Bulls led by 35 yr old MJ managed to stay on top of the eastern conference. MJ was the scoring leader and MVP of the league that season. In the playoffs, pippen only averaged 16.8 ppg. At 35 yrs old, MJ had to averaged 32ppg in the playoffs to will his team to the NBA finals.
    In game 3 of the nba finals, pippen suffered a back injury. He played through pain but it understandably affected his performance. He only averaged 15 ppg in that series. Jordan had to average 33.5 ppg the whole series to bag the chip. In game 6, pippen re-aggravated his back injury and only scored 8 pts. Kukoc was the only Bulls player to score in double digits (15 pts). MJ had to carry the Bulls and drop 45 pts (more than half of the entire team's total points) including the game winning steal and jump shot to win their second 3peat.

    I have watched SO much of LeBron. And sometimes we do romanticize the past, then when we revisit it (like with movies) we realize it wasn't as good as we thought.... HOWEVER, with MJ it only gets better with time. Highlights everywhere. Lost, found, old, later, and there is The Last Dance. He truly was the GOAT, and remains the GOAT today, and by a margin. One on one, he would be too quick, too skilled, and far too competitive for LeBron. He was a killer on court. A killer. He destroyed defenders and told them he was going to do it. He never ever backed down. As Shaq said... The only man he was ever scared of. There is no Kobe or LeBron without MJ having come first. He was the one who started it all. The idea that superman was black. He flew every night. In plain view.

    That wasn't just Jordan's last shot as a Bull. That sequence was filled with a lot more than just the last shot. Before the "last shot" happened there was like 35 seconds left and they are down by 3 because John Stockton just drilled one from deep. So they inbound the ball to Jordan and he quickly drives to the rim, makes a great layup in less than 5 seconds, and by scoring so quickly ensures them one more possession at the end of the game. Now they're only down by 1. Then the Jazz inbounds the ball and get's it to Karl Malone in the post. Malone dribbles the ball but doesn't see Jordan drop off of his man and strips Malone from behind getting the steal in the process. Now with about 20 seconds to go MJ dribbles the ball up and waits near half court dribbling time off the clock. With about 7-8 seconds left in the game Jordan makes his move. MJ starts driving up the court from the top of the key w/ a defender right in his pocket. He stops on a dime and as Russell stumbles away from the play Jordan pulls up for the mid-range 2 pointer. Right above the free throw line and holding that patented follow through as the time winds down 5, 4.... Swish. he did it again!

    Yes Michael is the GOAT. To witness him in real time was unbelievable. Kobe was the most comparable to him. Players that kept the foot on the throttle. No disrespect to Lebron but his game just isn't built like this. Mike wanted the ball, Mike wanted to D up the other teams best player. He never pushed his teammate to play that last shot.He embraced the challenge. And far more times than not he delivered. Was masterful to watch

    While it did take MJ 7 years to win his first title, you also need to see who beat him.
    The Bucks were a 60 win team.
    The Celtics then beat him back to back in 86 -87.
    Celtics won the title and made the finals those two years.
    He then lost to Detroit 4 straight years.
    The Pistons made it to 4 finals and won 2 (back to back) those years.
    So out of the 7 years he didn't make the finals, the teams that beat him made it to 6 finals winning 3 titles.

    I liked this reaction video. But I disliked the Clayton Crawley video. He spent half the video playing up Jordan's legacy as a "brand", hyping up how much help Jordan had-despite the obvious evidence that shows the opposite, ignoring the context around his Wizards years, attacking Jordan fans. It's annoying to watch.

  • @ArtMagik

    I'm always sad to see people dsicarding Wizards years of Jordan. Jordan's Wizards years are seen bad because he was so obviously dominant before that seeing him being human was shocking. And that's the beauty of those years and what's make him so special. With stats that most player would have loved to have for their best years Jordan was seen as washed and a bad player.

    Hello. I was watching videos about my beloved MJ and being a reaction, we watched it together. Unlike you, I do think without a doubt that it is GOAT. I was not going to listen to your final opinions, being honest, prejudging you? Would you attack my favorite demigod? 😳😅 But, bearing in mind my rusty English, 😝 I appreciate and value your reasons and opinions. You even made me meditate with some of your doubts and evaluations about the ambiguity of the underlying theme and the inherently subjective nature of this or that statement. That's why I decided to follow you and write to you .. Oh, and I see that you have one of LIOn⚽🤔😉. I myself really enjoy seeing the different stars that we have and those that are exploding now. Rather than argue, we should be grateful to see them with all these technological advances. Well, Wizards Jordan was averaging more than 20ppg with busted kness, broken fingers and had to drain water off his knees. This was against athletics dudes like Kobe, TMac, VC, AI and Pierce. He had nights where he had to go against defensive dudes like KG and Shawn Marion. This is an injured senior citizen playing against the early 2000s superstars and still averaged more than 20, with the occassional 40 and 50 point games.
    Also, the Wizards were among the worst defensive teams in points allowed before Jordan came. With Jordan as the only significant addition to the roster, they improved to among the top 5 teams in points allowed and were on track to be the top defensive team before he got sidelined for the season.
    I don't get why people say he'd be an average player today. Jordan is a Kobe-Kawhi-Westbrook hybrid type of player. So that kind of player would be average today?

    11:40 The point isn't that "Scottie Pippen was on the team". It's that he wasn't developed yet. Jordan was still the only lone allstar calibre player on the team. Scottie was not a great player, and wasn't even a starter. He didn't become allstar level until 1990. And 1990 they could've won, except Scottie got hit with a migraine in game 7 vs the Pistons. They made him play with it, and he went 1 for 10.
    It's interesting that this is the only "Making the case" video where he tries to downplay the player.
