As much as I love Alem's style I cant help but feel like Elisii gets done dirty every time he battles. He's a great beatboxer.
Elisii is also on the quieter side of beatboxers on stage, loud liprolls mixed with lower clicks loud spit snares, lower outward k snares, can create a bit of a weird dynamic, even then i still like elisii better in this battle but the judges know best

The 5 - 0 victory for Alem was a little surprising here. I personally would have given this one to Elisii. Alem of course has great power and his technical ability is incredible but I feel like his rounds were overly technical and there was not too much that I could just nod my head to. Elisii had technical stuff too but some head banging beats in there.

I am really confused. What does Elisii has to do in order to get through to the next round? It is obvious that Alem's sounds were louder but that is about it in my opinion. The transitions of Elisii alone are absolutely stunning... He definitely won for me.

Elisii sounded much cleaner, better structure, more variation and originality, better bass. Timing always on point. His last drop was sick AF.
Alem's timing's often out and there's a lot of breathing sounds. The judges surprised me on this one.
The technicality in this battle was insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥 but I'm shocked that all the judges voted for Alem. This did not deserve a 5-0 vote in favour of Alem surely. Elisi's rounds sounded clean and impressive. Alem's was a bit chaotic for my liking. The only reason I can think of why Alem won this round is his strong drops 🤔

This probably hit differently live, and there is a major power difference, as Alem just has a lot more experience.

Alem made too much mistake and his counter wasn't good. For people who say "yeah, but alem was louder" there is not much difference and it's not who is more powerful battle, it's beatbox battle. Alem was off beat in his first round. He made too many mistakes in his 2nd. For me Elisii was really good on both rounds and he had really good structure which something again, Alem didn't have.

For example, Kenny could’ve scored alem 1 point higher than elisii, d-low could’ve scored Alem 2 above elisii, etc. they could’ve been very close (like within 1-2 points of the other person winning) and it still ends up as a 5-0. 5-0 can be misleading as well since it kind of makes people think it was an absolute sweep when it really wasn’t

I was a little shocked to see the judges' decisions on this one. Elisii was just out there with confidence and battle energy, I could feel it. Maybe Alem sounded better live and I just couldn't feel it on video? I don't know.
Man tired of seeing Elisii lose to bad judging. I respect Alem but….. 5-0? How? Alem’s rounds felt sloppy. Elisii’s rounds were so well structured and had good flow. He needs to work on having more stage presence but… 5-0? Damn. Maybe live this sounded different cause you cant make out small details, but still a disappointing judge decision.

@@Vixcis64 no one is perfect and always make the right decision, that includes all 5 judges. No one is saying Alem is bad, he is just using a routine we've overheard so many times and getting bored of hearing it over and over again.
If there’s one reason that I could think is that Elisii’s sound is weaker in volume than Alem. Power is pretty important too in GBB, especially if the judges were located far behind the crowd. Probably judges just can’t hear all Elisii’s details live as much in this video. He would’ve win if he work on his power more

I think one possible reason why he did lose is probably his power. Like bro imagine u were to judge a GBB and ur judge seat was far behind the crowd. Obviously power is one of key role when it comes to battle. Even u put a tons of effort on every details on ur beat but it didn’t came that loud, chances are judges won’t gonna recognize those details and they might probably get masked by the crowd noise. And I highly doubt that the all his clean combos he done were heard clearly by the judges live as much as what we heard in this video. So yea, all what Elisii needs to work on is actually his power. Try to get at least as loud as FootboxG. FootboxG imo used to be quiet as well few years ago but in GBB 21 his sounds get a lot more powerful, although that his sounds sounded too flat imo and he might still slightly quieter than all the other participants he battled throughout the GBB.

@@dilanandres1588 understandable. Imo Alem had more to offer than Elisii and was way better at BATTLING ( Elisii was mostly showcasing ). Alem had more sound variation than Elisii, who was using mostly Clicks, clops and laser liprolls. Alem imo had superior patterns as well. Elisii also reused his GBB 19 beats in both rounds and the Judges might want something fresh from the contestants. So yeah, after listening to the battle over a dozen times and analyzing basically everything from both of them, Alem takes it
Okay, as I’ve heard it explained by several past judges, competitors are supposed to show some sort of wow factor on top of the musicality, technicality, and structure, show that they’ve learned something new, show they’ve gotten better, and Alem is a goat don’t get me wrong, but he literally showcased his wildcard on his first round, and elisii has shown so much maturity and development of his sound, Honestly with who the judges are and with what they’re knowledge is supposed to be I’m kinda of disappointed by a lot of they’re decisions, even with the rankings of some of they’re showcases, some of the best and flawless showcases were were ranked below some other showcases that had obvious flaws in them, and I’m tired of seeing a 5-0 decision in some of the closest battles I’ve ever seen, like imo napom vs Zekka should’ve been a 3-2 not a 4-1, this battle at the least should’ve been a 4-1 not, not a 5-0, for either party, I’m just seeing less of a maturity from the judging panel in the decision making than what I know they’re actual maturity level is in beatboxing
Something I think a lot of the people who complain about this forget is that a 5-0 decision doesn't mean it was a stomp, it very well could have been extremely close, with the end result being that all the judges very *slightly* preferred one side over another, this kind of thing is bound to happen over the course of so many battles

Saying Alem is overrated is a stretch though, he def defined new school and his power is unparalleled maybe except for a certain few but in terms of technicality, power and cleansing of his beats is mostly unmatched although being in the game for more than 10 years
I could see why Alem won his power was largely better than elissi’s. Not saying that is an instant win but energy as well and battle spirit. That’s why b art edged gene in my opinion.

Elisii is fucking nuts good, but the reason Alem took it for me live was because of his energy and scary power. No one can match Alem when it comes to having loud basics like he does it and his energy creates a whole other atmosphere! Big up to both tho!
I was there live and I didnt notice that big of a difference in power.
Dont get me wrong Elisii is loud as well, but it comes down to the style, Elisii does a lot of power sounds like subbass, the twoH snare and so on what makes Alem crazy is that he can match that power and to some degree even be louder with fast tech rolls, and basics in general. If you do fast rolls yourself and have tried it out on mic you will quickly notice that Its hard to pull of as loud as other things. In Alems case it honestly suprises me every time i hear him how loud his basics and rolls is.
Of course i am not a judge so this might not be the official reason why Alem won, for now it is just my opinion about why Alem won :)

Guys.... 5-0 doesn't mean it was a complete shut-down. It could as well mean each individual judge gave one guy 51% scoring and the other guy 49%. I felt like this was a really close battle. Though I was always a fan of Alem, Elisii made an AC unit out of me with this battle. SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH this guy's beats are unique. I really like his flow. Can't wait to see more of this guy!

Alem's second round was insane and what I'd expect from the former world champ. His first round was okay but he really brought it against Elisii in the second. For me Elisii won the battle and judging the by the comments most people felt that way. I'm happy for Alem and he's one of the all time greats but I can't help but feel like this should've at least been a split decision. I didn't realize that power and aggressiveness was all that is required to overpower someone who has you beat in every other category. Elisii was more musical, more clean, more technical in the first round and about equal in the second, and while his sounds might not have been as consistent power wise he wasn't constantly drawing and pushing air like you can hear from Alem so breath control goes to Elisii too. This is also the first time I've heard of Elisii lacking in the power department out of all the battles that he's been in. Could've been nerves, could've been mic issues but I don't think his sound and pattern choices sacrifice power because that's been a non-issue in the past.
Big up to Alem for winning though. Both of them were sick and this was probably the most technical battle of the competition.

Agree. I think Elisii had better structure and more variety (and more bass) but Alem has an unbeatable stage presence and he's cleaner. Just compare them: Alem's beats are like when you up the treble on your amplifier. I think that helped him too win this battle.
Pretty sure the mic couldn't pick up Elisii's sounds correctly, I highly doubt he lacked power on them, as he's been doing his clicks for years and never had any issues really.

Alright since everybody else is saying it, I will too. Can't believe Alem 5-0'd Elisii here lol. That's just nuts. In the post production, Elisii is just... 100% the winner!! The venue couldn't have been that much different.
For the record, I've agreed with basically all of the judges decisions in the competition thus far. I just think there's this weird bias that exists for some beatboxers, and Alem is for sure one of them. If anyone has any enlightening thoughts as to why Alem won, I'd love to hear and discuss them :)
The judging was weird around two things for me. Alem vs Elisii and another loopstation beatboxer who made it far with comparatively simple stuff.
Every time I see Alem perform I am reminded of how important musicality is to a routine.

This is incomprehensible. Alem hasn’t expanded his repertoire in years and is far from having a technique like Elisii’s. I don't understand why 1-2 "loud" seconds - which the crowd loves - is enough to push down a better and smarter performer in a "high-volume" duel ... I'm starting to feel that people are more likely to shed light on “stardom” than to reward creativity and talent.

I am a massive fan of Alem and have been for much of the time I've been interested in beatboxing.
Having said that, I didn't particularly like what he did with his rounds. Just seemed really disjointed. On this occasion I preferred Elisii - particularly his first round.

この動画で聞くとELISIIのほうがスキル的にもフロウ的にもハイレベルなことをやっていると思いますが、現場で聞いてた人の意見によるとELISIIのマイクが壊れてるんじゃないか?ってレベルでALEMの音が全体的にデカかったらしいですね
GBBの動画の音はしっかりマスタリングしてあるので動画と実際の現場では音の聞こえ方が全然違う場合があります

Love Alem, but the judges dropped the ball here. Elisii clearly won this battle from every aspect you could judge a battle except for power.
ALEM won that? 5-0. sorry i get that alems style is technical and all but at some points it sounded like he was making random noises as fast as possible. meanwhile elisii actually made music.

I feel like if the history and prestige of Alem was removed and he was just a new beatboxer a lot more people would just kinda be like -_-. I don't really get why his elimination or wildcard ranked so high, or why he won this battle. Felt like it was a clear win for Elisii and when I was watching the live stream I was SHOCKED and the chat was too. Seems like a really nice guy but idk man rip Elisii.
