    ▶This is a must watch video for anyone considering the new Sirui 35mm wide angled Anamorphic cinematic lens. This is currently the best budget anamorphic lens you can get. At F 1.8, this is an amazing lens, but there are things you should be aware of. This is not a full frame anamorphic lens, but if you use aps-c crop mode on supported cameras such as A7 III, you can use this lens.

    I have watched a few different reviews on the 24mm, 35mm, and 50mm version on this lens. I’m split between the 35mm and 50mm. I mostly shoot on the A7Sii so I’m worried the 50mm might be too tight for some shots. Has the 50mm ever been too tight for you or have you been able to make it work for when you need wider shots?

    Hi I just bought a Sirui anamorphic 35mm f1.8 and my camera is Panasonic GH5 and also I have Viltrox speed booster EF-M2II ( used typically for Sigma 18-35mm ). So Sirui offers an ef-mount adapter for their 35mm anamorphic. Will this work to combine 35mm anamorphic mft converted and mounted on ef speed booster and then mounted on GH5?
    And if yes how good or bad will be the results?

    Great video and review! If you were using this lens on the new Sony A7Siii which doesn't have a 4k APS-C mode, would the lens still work? Do you just have to crop out the vignette edges in post?

    • @SePark
      @SePark  Pƙed 3 lety

      Hi Phil, yes I just got my a7s iii and it is interesting. It doesn’t have aps-c crop mode in 4K but it crops 1.1 when filming in 4K 120. I’ll test it with active stabilization on and see if that crops even more. So you won’t be getting the true 4K resolution but with slight post crop, it may be useable.

    • @DynamicPhil84
      @DynamicPhil84 Pƙed 3 lety

      @@SePark Thanks for that info and looking forward to your test results. Isn't the sensor on the A7S iii slightly higher resolution than 4k? So when it does the 1.1 crop in 120 fps mode, it should be outputting right around actual UHD 4K, right? With the active stabilization turned on as well, then I would expect a slightly lower than UHD 4K resolution which gets a bit of an upscale when saved to the camera.

    • @SePark
      @SePark  Pƙed 2 lety

      Hey Teddy! In the current camera climate, ZV-e10 is a very good entry into the Sony eco-system. The fact that it has the e-mount alone at that price point is a strong plus. My goal is to create un-regrettable videos and it's been a good season. I'm really glad to hear my videos helped. Sigma 35mm F1.4 is beautiful lens. Sirui 35mm is a very specialty lens. It's not an everyday versatile lens. Unless you have a project where you really want that lens flare to pop, I would go with the Sigma 35mm over the Sirui 35mm for portraits. Anamorphic manual lens are not easy to focus on command. Hope that helps! Thanks for the support!

      @SePark  Pƙed 4 lety +1

      Hey hey Sebastian! Definitely the 35mm for most video shoots, if you were to pick one. It's lot more versatile. Because it's a cropped lens, 50mm is little too long for every scenario. You can always get closer to zoom in, but you can't zoom out. You'll find this especially true when you are traveling and filming. This 35mm lens will feel like a 42mm if you use a full frame camera, and about 28 mm if you use a cropped aps-c sensored camera. Hope that helps!

      @@rahulrishi8800 that's interesting. You found an adapter that converts MFT to an EF camera mount? Any time you go through a non standard adapter or speed booster, you're going to face some image ratio discrepancies. Going back to the general rule that super 35 is slightly bigger than the aps-c or micro 4/3, you will get vignetting. Your advantage on a 6K camera is that you can crop.
