    You have the best collection.
    And, I'm with you; I absolutely love this light. It's about perfect. It exudes quality.
    I used to have a Switchback on mine, until I got the Malkoff tricap. The tricap is indescribably comfortable. It sits in the hand perfectly, and it provides a great radius to keep it from slipping out of the hands, AND it still tailstands. You can just pick it up, and it sits so comfortably in the hand with the tricap (even more than the supreme comfort you have right now).
    What I love about Malkoff is apparently he measures his lumens at like the 10 minute mark, so he doesn't inflate his numbers, and there's no stepdown. What you see is what you get. I love the honesty of it. So, while 700 lumens doesn't "sound impressive," it ends up having a better SUSTAINED output than many of the hotrod competitors.
    If you're a bit of a tint snob, order an M61N from him. 400 lumens out of a 4000K SST-20. It looks so, so good. With the High/Low ring, it's just perfect for around the house. The best part, with Malkoff, is you can swap the emitters back and forth to suit your needs. When you want the HOT, put that in, and when you want high CRI, put the M61N in.
    Finally, as a Yankee, I can help the conversion with Freedom units. A meter is SIMILAR to a YARD (technically, a yard is almost 10% shorter), and a yard is 3 feet (which is 12 inches). So, 160 feet is just over 50 yards - about 50 meters.
    I know, it gets confusing. Just take a gallon of 128 fluid ounces (fl oz), cut it into four 32 fl oz quarts, then cut it in half again, and you'll have a nice, 16 fl oz pint. Drink that pint, then split that pint into 4 parts, and finish it with a 4 oz gill of whiskey. Now you're ready to figure out what in the world we're doing with our measurements (Thanks, England), haha. Don't forget, we then have our 16 ounces to a pound (incidentally, 16 fluid ounces does weigh one pound, which kind of explains a lot of this system).
    Regards from the United States!

    I know it is not the most impressive light out there in these days of high candela wars, but, I find it just so damn useful for where I live in a suburban setting. I love the high/low too and now wish all my lights had this simple option. Heck, I love my M61 HOT MDC so much I picked up a second one on the second hand market (only light I own two of). Being in the USA I am also picking up an Arisaka Defense 1" ring mount so one of these M61 HOT MDC lights could also serve as a back up light for a rifle if needed.

    Thanks for the video mate 👍🏾 Do you find this light is sufficient for self defense? Mainly as a bump in the night situation. Thanks again!

    • @flashlightcrazy
      @flashlightcrazy  Před 5 měsíci +1

      100% it is sufficient! In the dead of night, this thing feels like the sun blaring at you.
      You have to remember, to disable someones vision at night time does not take much light. Anything above 500 Lumens and 10,000 candela will do it.
      This has 750 Lumens and around 20,000 Candela - More than enough.
      Plus you have the added bonus of being able to turn the head for low mode so you do not give away your position.
      remember, only use a light in a self-defence situation if you have a plan. The light will only work for 1 second. After that you have lost the element of surprise

    Do you know of other lights that use similar UI? I remember EagleTac D-series used to use head tightening to switch between tactical and regular modes

    The SureFire E2T-MV Tactician designed a number of years ago by James Yager has exactly the same HI\LOW interface. The only downside of the SureFire Tactician is floody MaxVision beam instead of focused beam. Does this Malkoff head can be installed on a SureFire E-Series body?

    • @flashlightcrazy
      @flashlightcrazy  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Check the link below for that info. I am not sure if this head is compatible with E series. I think not actually

      No the hi/low rings will only fit MD series heads. And Malkoff heads will only fit on MD series bodies.
