    I always tidy up the room before I leave it. Sometimes that's as simple as putting all the trash in the wastebasket. I'm always leaving the room later in the morning after room service breakfast, so I try to make my poor steward's work as quick as possible for him.

    Excellent video and advice.
    People in Disney groups shared tips on how to get around the rules. Eventually crackdowns came and people shined about the loss of something. This is true for cruising as well. If people get to the point that the cruise line is mad then rules are enforced strictly, fines are added, and guests kicked off ships. I wait to see what is the next change because of naughty guests, lol.
    Have you notice that it is not just cruising that has people breaking rules? There are a select few people who fight in public with spouses, leave restaurants looking like a dump, and are on the phone letting the whole world know their business.
    My pet peeve are loud people in restaurants, not kids, I mean adults. Hugs and loved this advise. On point.

    • @mechurchlady
      @mechurchlady Před 5 lety +1

      I bet you can list a dozen things that lead to crackdowns like reserving loungers. It is amazing the crazy things do on vacation. It is like a personality change happens. The food under the table, kids running in restaurants, and greedy people. I hate seeing buffets, even Golden Corral, where there are piles of uneaten food. Why order tea or coffee, take a sip, and leave? All that work for one sip of liquid, really? Hugs, and have a great day.

    FYI the suites on NCL Dawn and Star can be a problem for magnets. The aft suite had walls that the magnets would not stick to but the door was ok. The family suite on deck 12 had a door with veneer the magnets would not work with, but the interior walls were good. Luckily the metal door frame worked to hang our door decorations,

    Enjoyed watching once more. My heart goes out to the cabin stewards and any crew member who has to clean-up after passengers. How can so many people NOT be aware that if you don't clean up after yourself, someone else has to do it. They don't get paid nearly enough to do that. Please, it is so disrespectful to leave the place in so much worse shape than when you found it, simply because someone "gets paid" to clean-up. My stewards (so far) have been kind and helpful and deserved nothing but kindness and respect in return.

    Great video Frank and Kevin. On our future cruise we will be celebrating our 29th anniversary and a birthday and I love the ideas of using magnets and command strips to hang decorations. I can not believe someone would use two sided tape, or hot glue. What are they thinking!? I also identified about seeing cabins so messy you could barely see the floor. I do not care how many people you have staying in there, it should never be left like that for the cabin steward. How disgraceful, and that poor steward. Thank you again for the videos, i enjoy them so much.

If nz plugs dont work what type of plugs would i need as i was planning to take a multi plug to charge phone , camera batteries and toothbrush. Thank you in advance for your reply. Never a silly question !! This is what we found regarding electrical cabin sockets....per country / cruise line. www.cruise1st.co.uk/blog/cruise-tips/type-electrical-plug-will-cruise-ship-cabin/ Vaping is lumped in with cigarette smokers...who usually have a designated area on the ship for this. Check with the cruise line for the ship you'll be sailing on for confirmation.

So I can can blow dry my hair without disturbing him? When we were on the Bliss I noticed a space between the bathroom door and the floor that could accommodate an extension chord. I checked the prohibited items list on the NCL website and did not see extension chord listed.

I do love looking inside other cabins as I walk by to see how messy people are. The best stories are from your cabin steward. Take time to talk to them and they have great stories! I love when the ship is in port and they leave a note that the crew will be cleaning the balcony for whatever reason and to close your curtains!!! There is a limited amount of wheelchairs on a ship...more for emergencies. The wheelchairs available for guests really come from the port terminal to transport guests on embarkation and disembarkation day...and remain in the port terminal. You really need to rent one yourself. See...special needs at sea or scootaround. * make sure your cruise line deals with the rental company 1st, before you rent one.

But to add one to your list (and I may have been completely dumb for not knowing this ahead of time lol) but regarding the toilets, DO NOT FLUSH feminine products!! Turns out there is a tiny little sign above the toilet (where you can't really see it as you are kind of sitting in front of it) that kind of says to not flush certain things but its an odd little picture so I really didn't pay attention ;) Anywho, our toilet kept getting blocked and it took us a while to figure out why, so just a heads up ladies!! Thanks so much! We're doing our first cruise (and my mom surprised me and booked a room next to us) in Jan on rccl. We'll have four kids with us too- 13,10,6,2. I'm still in shock we're going!

    Everything but # 2 was common sense or basic courtesy. Magnetic hooks are a great idea, btw! I would have brought plastic hangers with clamps to hang wet things, but your idea is way better! I guess bringing a spirit lamp to make Turkish coffee is a no-no? JK Haha

    I'll confess. If a stateroom door is opened as I'm passing by, I'm peaking in. I have a theory that if people are piggish in a tiny stateroom, that's probably how they live at home. It's so disgusting, right?

    I'm going to be honest most of these are common sense however two of these I dont think about do most of the time.
    At night I have left the cabin door to the balcony door open. I only do it st night and it's so peaceful.
    The second I am always walking around my cabin naked but when I do I have the do not disturb sign on. And no the curtains are not normally drawn but I look at it is way I'm proud of what my mama gave me. So do not look across to my cabin lol. Also if gonna have sex on your balcony just wait and donit in the dark at sea with the wind and stuff going its better that way or so I have herd.
    Great video guys.

    Having sex on your balcony may also get you arrested if your in a port! lol and some balconies overlook the ones below so you may also be in full view of those above. I hate it when guests leave dirty dishes outside their stateroom door....yuck.

    Wash your hands after using the bathroom and always accept the hand sanitizer when offered. Just off a recent cruise and was shocked at how many people left the public restroom without washing their hands.

      I'll be packing my rubber gloves to wear when I'm making my plate at the buffet. I work in the food service industry so it's a given that I wear rubber gloves.

    Love your videos! Disagree with #8, however. I paid a lot to go on my cruise vacations, and if I want to leave things less than organized I have every right to. I’m not that bad, really, but the room stewards go into your room 6 times a day to reset things anyway.

    • @Cruisingwithwheels
      @Cruisingwithwheels  Před 4 lety +1

      Every cabin steward we have interviewed has told us that basically, they just go into your cabin 2X a day.....unless they have something special / request to take care of. People can leave their cabin however they feel...it's their cruise. Neat & organized or sloppy & trashy......it's on them.

    • @viewer409
      @viewer409 Před 4 lety

      Cruising With Wheels I go on a lot of charters and with Atlantis; so my cruises are more party geared. Room stewards have always continually come in on my experiences, more than 2x. Maybe it’s just due to the type of crowd my charter group hosts. Glitter patrol, they on it.
