When that woman starts comparing life to the sea I totally choke up. You can tell her tears were real. It was really outstanding scriptwriting/acting in this scene.
@@Jack-rj2dz I'm confident in my own masculinity, unlike you, who obviously needs to pick fights with strangers when you'd never have the guts to do so face to face. Bye bye, sad child.
But what helps make this scene effective is the fact that we're not meant to see her again- just like in real life situations where someone may be suicidal, it's not necessarily a friend or relation they end up talking everything through with but a total stranger and someone they don't mind burdening with their problems.
Great inspiration to people suffering depression like me, I've tried to kill myself several times but I've learnt that no matter how bad things may seem life is worth living. Great woman, inspiring speech 👏
I'm currently finishing my cbt therapy but lost my dad last june I know he feels I have a anxiety disorder and sever depression I've started to be stable again but I'm scared after my cbt finishs and time passes buy it return I'm strong person havent grieved yet but I know it will hit me sooner rather than later well done Lee and eastenders for this thank u
I have anxiety and panic attacks panic disorder and flashbacks PTSD because of my past and I have four panic attacks or two everyday at school and thoughts of self harm
@@beautyqueenlove123 yes I’m fully aware that she’s the actress, Sally Rogers, who also played Jo Maters in The Bill. It’s kinda like she’s somewhat reprising the role for Lee’s character arc, is that what you meant? I also know a little too much about mental ill health and why this scene could be very poignant for some people. Indeed, life’s a bitch, and yet we’re then expected to just go live it.
I’ve always rated the actor/singer Danny Hatchard and the character of Lee Carter, particularly during this story arc. Interesting Fact: Hatchard was in the theatre production of Beautiful Thing and Linda Henry, his onscreen Nan, Shirley, was in the actual film adaptation, as was the actress Tameka Empson who’s also currently in EastEnders playing Kim Fox.
They missed the part out where after lee leaves she breaks down and pulls a picture out of her pocket of a young guy late teens possibility early 20s and cries hearder. That tells me it could of been her son.

Stephen O'Donnell She is a fantastic actress
Grow a pair you fucking pansy, wish you'd do this in reality 💯

When I was at rock bottom, I stood at a bridge for over an hour before anyone commented. That person saved my life. Don't hesitate.
Poor Lee. Just want to hug him.
I hope this woman makes another appearance in future episodes.

I remember her as DC turned Sergeant Jo Masters from The Bill.

Hope you are well
Same here. Failed so many times at taking myself out, I just thought, "oh, f*** it, I'll just live and ride out those storms."
Feeling like this guy at the moment, but it’s something that I try to fight everyday
I know how you’re feeling. I’m struggling 2!
This episode was heartbreaking. Seeing Lee suffering to the point where he wants to kill himself.

Good old DC Joe Masters
This actually made me cry 😢 one of the saddest scenes in my opinion in eastenders

I am so sorry babe, remember you are a strong beautiful independent woman who is going to have a bright future.xx
Osman was the least of his worries
We feel Lee carter pain
Wow this was intense
Whitney didn't help she also pushed him to this and she knew he was a depressive
She still the same from the bill
They should have kept her
I feel the same way
I know this comment is 2 years old but I hope you got help dude

Who was that woman do we ever see her again in the show?
Clamantstone I think she was a night guard or something at the building
She was in the Bill

In future could language be changed to not say ‘committing’ suicide, as it implies that it is some criminal act to do so, which obviously it isn’t.
I know it’s the same with people ‘coming out’ it’s like there the only people who have to come out
Technically it is.
@@stephenmcconnell1000 i know, but I don’t think placing guilt and blame onto people who try it/do it is necessarily helpful
@@aimeemcdonald1581 But if you're in that moment, it's the last thing you care about.
Should of kept this character in the soap
What triggered him to do this?
He was trying to impress Whitney by buying her expensive things and taking out payday loans to the point where he couldn’t cope anymore
