"Perfection Erases Humanity" - Casey Neistat

  • Filmmaker Casey Neistat explains how the egalitarianisation of filmmaking led to his unlikely career as a filmmaker -- a career that began one day while playing with a 2000 iMac DV in the trailer park where he was living. More fascinating, however, is the story he tells of the making of his clever, low-budget movie, iPod's Dirty Secret, which caused Apple to change its iPod policy back in 2003.

It's unbelievable how much I've become so familiar with Casey, watching constantly his vlogs, that now, listening to this incredible movie artist, cause that's what I think he is, talking about his passion and his lifetime, is literally like witnessing an old friend getting finally the recognition he deserves!

This speech is so on point. Casey has done some incredible things in the last few years (it's now 2017), and I'm a die-hard follower. As successful as he gets I hope he looks back at this night and thinks, "there's a night when I was on fire - there's a speech where I brought everything I had." His comedic timing was excellent. His message was clear, strong, and well-planned. His work may speak for itself, but here, he spoke for it and made it even better.

Very important theme here about the benefits of using a real, raw, style in film-making. As Casey says, it can turn people off progressing as they strive for higher standards, when appeal can come from a simple, but good, idea.

I love what he says about 'seeing the hand that makes it'. I find I enjoy modern films less today as everything is so crisp and perfect. The contrasts, the ultra high definition. I find a lot of new films to be cold where as old films had a warmth, that human touch, which makes them much more engaging for me.

Casey Awesome Video especially the part about FB and thefact that it is a true Seth pool it really is. I go on to say hello to my family but I truly think it is a major waste of time and nothing but Drama and B.S..I will all go on to see people who worked with me for twenty years and know more about me then most, because I spent so much time with Beautiful people. What is really sad is how this site turns everything nice and can totally turn the nicest thing into B.S. Garbage because in my eyes it Drama ,lies, and nothing what people are about period. The only time I will spend on it is to say hello to family that live far away or friends that are not close by.Other then that like Nana said waste of time.Awesome Video loved it Deb.

poetical. he talks about how he had "minimal resources". now he flies 1600 dollar drones and throws 2000 dollar cameras out the window while flying in his personal helicopter to the airport. hard work and grind comes a long way.

If only Casey Neistat were a actual film maker. Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg are film makers. This guy has limited experience in video production and plays by his own rules which tells you one thing...he does not work well with others which is essential in video production. As for his ability to tell a story. Worthy of a small box, CZcams
