      Useful review, but that comment with the Leaf or a Bolt was as dumb and ignorant as it gets. You really have no EV other options in the US anymore (I am strongly considering the SR+, though, simply because it is the best buy at the moment).

    14:28 the Model 3 is more efficient than the Model Y so it gets more miles per hour of charging than the Model Y at the same kW charge power. Tesla wall connector owners manual has a chart showing the MPH charge rate for each model per amp setting. If you plugged a Tesla Semi into your charger, it would get much less miles per hour. I hope that makes sense the way I explained it.

  • @Arpedk
    @Arpedk Před 3 lety +4

    Regarding the different charging speeds it is all about the efficiency between the Model 3 SR+ (142 MPGe) and Model Y LR (125 MPGe). So you have the same on-board AC charger 110v or 220v in the US so you are getting the exact same kW of power, but to calculate added miles per hours you have to multiply with the MPGe giving the SR+ about 14% higher miles per hour on a home charger.
    Long range batteries will still have higher miles per hour and kW of power at a supercharger V3.

    Newer Teslas usually ship out with outdated software for stability purposes. It takes about a few weeks to a month for them to release updates to the newer vehicles, which I believe is done in batches. I had the same concern with my M3LR when I picked it up on March 27th. Thought I was doing something wrong, but turns out this is a normal thing.

    The charger is actually internal in the car. The external cords etc are just power sources for the internal charger.
    My guess is the internal charger is more efficient than previous models.

    I believe that a smaller lighter battery has less resistance when pushing electrons so it is able to push at a faster rate than your larger battery in the Y. The higher the capacitance, the harder it is to push the electrons back to a state where it is "charged". If that makes any sense. I have to think back to the electromagnetism classes I took in college lol

    The Standard model plus is rear wheel drive only. The long range is all wheel drive and dual motors ..so the power is very noticeable at take off and low speeds and at cruising speeds and it's very noticeable

    Got my M3P March 25th. It has 2020.47 software as I believe almost everyone that got their cars Q1 had. Apparently it can take up to a couple weeks to get the new software and there's nothing you can do except wait. Also, aside from the rear heated seats, his car actually has almost all of the "Premium" speakers, they're just not activated. Hanshow sells an $80 wiring harness to activate those extra speakers to make his sound system better.
