But if you consider correct solutions wich are correct only from a very specific perspective, you could just take the pieces, put them like you did in the beginning and then put the last piece on top of any other piece, if you look at the letter directly from above it's actually an H.

The point of my comment was not to give a solution wich is better or more brilliant than the original. I was just trying to point out that the original solution doens't seem good enough for me cause there are much less smart solutions wich are kind of equivalent. Talking about the example you made, i don't think it really fits because a solved rubik's cube it's solved, from every perspective you look at it, and in order to solve it by removing the stickers you actually have to "destroy" the puzzle and reassemble it, wich i never implied should be allowed. Making another example, this puzzle's original solution make it seem like in order to solve a rubik's cube you could just solve 1 face and then say: "I solved the cube because by looking at it from the right perspective you can't tell if it's solved or not, so you can assume it's solved".

The slanted cuts of the pieces give you a clue of how to solve it. Look at which sides of each piece match the sides of other pieces.
      For example, take two pieces
      Piece 1. Piece 2
      B B
      |\ A |_\ C
      A |_| C D
      D
Side c of piece 1 matches side a of piece 2, which hints that they may be next to each other in the solution.
Then if you notice that the slanted sides are at the same angle, it hints that they all end up facing the same direction in the finished solution.

Thinking outside the box is a problem-solving skill. This isn't problem-solving, this is cheating. Why not just throw the 7th piece in the trash? Solves the problem just as well. Or, place the 7th piece on top of another piece like it to hide it from a top-down view? How is this solution clever? It breaks an assumption that was restricting possible solutions to (supposedly) one very clever solution, and opens the floodgates for all manner of "gotcha" stupidity.
How does this line of thinking help solve real problems? It does not. It abuses a lack of rules within a rulespace that does not exist in the real world.
