Every time this song plays I imagine it like someone who's happy and has a nice life but little things like favorite books or paintings they're working on start to slowly be forgotten.
@@Watdafuqbrah the 6 parts of the album represent the 6 stages of dementia. as the album goes on, the music slowly becomes more grainy and distorted, and in some parts you can even tell it’s a distorted version of a song from earlier.
Maybe not related at all but everytime I listen to "You are my sunshine" by Johnny Cash, in my mind I imagine it slolwy starts to sound with sort of a white noise that drowns the sound more and more everytime until it abruptly stops, just as the tranquil, safe feel it transmits fades. As if it were played on a movie to show that the nice life for the protagonist is over, that maybe some tragedy abruptly happened.
This genuinely is terrifying, seeing such familiar images and parts of my life growing up, it got to a point where I'd remember each month by their meme, and now they're all just burning memories...
“What was the internet like?” “It was a magical place where you could create anything and make millions laugh across the world. We thought our jokes would never die”

0:42 a wise man once said “It doesn't matter whether you have a nice looking mansion, a simple treehouse, or a mere dirt fort. Once you put a furnace next to a crafting table, it's a home”
The song, “Just another burning memory,” hits me really hard when I sit and listen to reflect for a moment. In my eyes, dementia/Alzheimer’s is a fate worse than death because I won’t remember the good times of life with friends and family. I’ve always been told to live life to the fullest and do your best, but this removes the point. It means that if you don’t do anything significant to history your family and descendants will forget you in coming years and you yourself will forget them too. If there is an afterlife, I hope memory altering conditions don’t affect what happens there.
The disease I fear the most are diseases that affect my brain, memories and personality. I just think that the moment I get it, I cease to exist. My memories and personality are what makes "me" in my opinion.
Its all just that, a burning memory. Slowly turning to ash to be blown away in the winds of time. That's the whole point of the album, to explore the places at the end of time, our time. But its really the end of your time.
it is interesting yet horrifying to think about that everything in the world has it's purposes and the simplest thing off could change our entire living, something as small as a meme not existing would change the entire course of humanity
@@nise6699 nah it wouldn't be a burning memory if her body was present, though if it's only her noose then I reckon it'd still achieve the burning memory effect

0:30 This one... Definitely an actual burning memory. From Sayori's confession of what she's been hiding from MC for years, to the Sayo-nara, it's just depressing, and horrifying
The Sayori one hits the hardest, imo, when you realize this is what her relatives/friends would find in her room, the next days, months, years. Her presence would be gone, just leaving an empty void where she would be.
This hurts to watch. These aren't just memes, they're parts of my life. Iconic images from the art and jokes I love, from pieces of my childhood and my present. Pieces of the things that make me me. As someone with short-term memory loss, I'll always grow more and more terrified of losing my long-term memories as time progresses. The only thing that will ever alleviate that fear, ironically, is actually losing those memories. Because then I'll go from being terrified to being eternally sad. My Grandpa had Alzheimer's. In his younger years he was a detective, one of the brightest on the force, I've been told. In the time before his death he was paranoid and confused. His mind was a very beautiful gift that was slowly being taken from him. He was fortunate enough to fie in the early stages. If I ever get diagnosed with Dementia, I'll cherish every moment of my life up until I start to lose myself. At that point, if I can't get myself euthanized, then I'll frame myself for a crime worthy of Capital Punishment. Life, our ability to experience things, is the best gift we'll ever be given. And one of the rarest, and most valuable. Your chances of having been created are so astronomically low. So use your gift wisely. Cherish every moment. Every sip of water, every bite of food, every note of every album you ever listen to. Because one day you won't be able to. "Tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That's why it is called 'the Present'" - Master Oogway
This feels like your relising your slowly forgetting everything you knew about someone you loved after they died and I hate the fact that this made me realise it making my day 10× worse ;(
It’s crazy that I (and many more judging by the comments I have seen) can’t remember some. But I feel like there is something that hasn’t been addressed enough. And that is how The absence of some character is extremely unsettling. For example, Foxy. We all know what him not being there means. Or another example is at 1:20 where the flying demonic creature is supposed to be. My first thought was where did it go?? Why is it gone? And why am I scared? Or another one is the machine where the anime girl had her skin removed. We all know what happened to her but just the absence is so unsettling and the music enhances that feeling. Now, if you did read the entirety of this comment, I want you to do something. I want you to go back, and rewatch the video. Then come back to this comment and comment and tell me if you agree with what I said above.
Some of these do actually feel creepy, like the Sayori Bedroom one for example. It just feels like the body was removed and the house was put up for sale. Someone bought the house without knowing what had happened in it. Somebody buying it without knowing someone committed suicide with a friend walking in directly in the room they had chosen as their bedroom. It feels bad, to be honest.
The scariest thing about this for me is that I had no idea half of these images existed. My little brother won't know the meaning of this video That's terrifying to me Update: I showed him this video and he asked why nobody was there
I just now realized this song is a slowed down, reverbed version of the popular 30’s song “Heartaches” which was sang by Al Bowlly, a popular 30’s singer who sang hits such as Midnight, The Stars and You, as well as It’s All Forgotten Now, and obviously, Heartaches.

Every time this song plays I imagine it like someone who's happy and has a nice life but little things like favorite books or paintings they're working on start to slowly be forgotten.
its about fases of dementia i think

@dubelow It’s the meaning of the song
Its all just that, a burning memory. Slowly turning to ash to be blown away in the winds of time. That's the whole point of the album, to explore the places at the end of time, our time. But its really the end of your time.
Dying with a success in life and happy memories is the best death, but definitely not so common.

That's why it is called 'the Present'"

Remember, life is short. Spent as much time as possible to cherish it.
