I was in first grade or second grade when Minecraft released on Xbox. I begged my mom and dad to buy an Xbox so that I could play. I had to wait until it released on PS3. I played the demo for hours on end, exploring the tiny beginning tutorial area with my brother. I remember getting hand foot and mouth when I was a third grader. I had a newborn sister who cried constantly and never wanted to go to sleep, unless she was watching me play Minecraft. I remember wishing I had PlayStation plus so that I could play with my friends online. I remember playing on a world with my brother that we put over 1000 hours in over the years. I remember sobbing and playing Minecraft after my dog had to be put down. I remember playing Minecraft after my grandfather died, and after I had to give my cats away because they didn’t like my house. Mostly, I remember wanting to grow up so that I could do whatever I want. I graduate in 2 weeks. My sister is in fourth grade. My brother doesn’t like Minecraft anymore. My dog has been dead for so long I’ve forgotten what he looks like off the top of my head, and my cats probably won’t even remember me. All of that time wishing I could grow up, and I just want to go back to third grade. I just want to not be thinking about money, and grades, and college. If you’re ready to grow up, don’t be. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

when stampy ended his lovely world series, the last bit of my childhood had finally wrapped up. I was 19 when he ended it and now I'm 20. I remember when I was 9 I had begged my grandma to get me the game for my xbox 360 and I would binge watch stampy every day after school and play on the weekends. during that time I had a traumatic experience with my father, I'm a victim of csa, so minecraft and stampy was my comfort and coping mechanism. it really helped me through those times. every once in a while I go down nostalgia lane and it never fails to make me shed a few tears. I wish I could go back to experience minecraft again for the first time, especially stampy. I still wish I had gotten added to the love garden. :') but now I'm.. grown. I wish time didn't go so fast honestly.

Being born in September of 2009, and over the years, playing minecraft was the true nostalgia for everyone. Happy 15th years of minecraft, it truely a game.
Remember when: Our biggest rivals were our classmates? Our biggest problem was getting the balls from under the car? We pretended to race the rain drops on the car windows? Those hype feelings we get the day before a field trip? Those chill car rides on the freeway? We didn’t need to worry so much about our future? The goodbyes meant only till tomorrow? Remember when we all just couldn’t wait to grow up? *What were we thinking man....*
Some of those goodbyes meant forever. Neither of us knew it. Now I miss my friends them. But I know I’ll never see them again but it’s okay. Things change and there’s nothing I can do about it. I can only wait for what awaits me in the future.

This thing got me thinking not only about video game nostalgia, it had me thinking about my whole childhood. This hit me way harder than it was probably intended to, i cried for half an hour. This is the greatest and most beautiful, touching thing that i ever heard.

Man, I remember first opening Minecraft and running through the tutorial and grabbing the diamonds underneath the beacon at spawn with my friend and acting like I mined them all. Now he lives somewhere else, and I haven't seen him since.

Honestly, minecraft holds such a close place in my heart, as stupid as it sounds, it really does. but man, its so amazing seeing all these mcyt youtubers i watched as a kid grow up,, stampy has moved on a bit, dantdm is a dad, pat and jen broke up and find new people, its.. insane to say the least. im glad i grew up with them, and while i now watch the newer mcyt people, i still always watch the newest content of the true OGs, i still find myself watching dantdm content a lot, and im glad the younger part of this generation will still have some great new mc youtubers to grow up with too :) i felt bad stampy never got the huge following he deserved, he worked really hard and still does, and i still and always will consider him extremely underrated. ill always miss the og mcyt community/og uploads, and i might be watching the newer mcyt youtubers more aswell, but ill always appreciate and love the people i grew up watching. without them i wouldve never gotten into minecraft and gotten so attached to the game. my father loved how stupid the zombies were, and we actually watched a few pat and jen videos together when i was younger, their content and my love for it and the game is what persuaded him into getting minecraft for me. He passed away almost 3 years ago, and ill always miss him, but ill always find such a close love and attachment to this game and the mc youtubers i grew up watching, i dont think id even be in the place i am today without them. And even to this day i always find myself listening to the entire minecraft soundtrack on spotify. makes me cry everytime.

Honestly, minecraft holds such a close place in my heart, as stupid as it sounds, it really does. but man, its so amazing seeing all these mcyt youtubers i watched as a kid grow up,, stampy has moved on a bit, dantdm is a dad, pat and jen broke up and find new people, its.. insane to say the least. im glad i grew up with them, and while i now watch the newer mcyt people, i still always watch the newest content of the true OGs, i still find myself watching dantdm content a lot, and im glad the younger part of this generation will still have some great new mc youtubers to grow up with too :)
i felt bad stampy never got the huge following he deserved, he worked really hard and still does, and i still and always will consider him extremely underrated.
ill always miss the og mcyt community/og uploads, and i might be watching the newer mcyt youtubers more aswell, but ill always appreciate and love the people i grew up watching. without them i wouldve never gotten into minecraft and gotten so attached to the game. my father loved how stupid the zombies were, and we actually watched a few pat and jen videos together when i was younger, their content and my love for it and the game is what persuaded him into getting minecraft for me. He passed away almost 3 years ago, and ill always miss him, but ill always find such a close love and attachment to this game and the mc youtubers i grew up watching, i dont think id even be in the place i am today without them. And even to this day i always find myself listening to the entire minecraft soundtrack on spotify. makes me cry everytime.

"The thing is you can never truly quit Minecraft because It holds to many great memories and if you are feeling down in the world Minecraft is here to take you back from the start where it all began but, you cant quit minecraft because if you are trying to you are really just taking a long break
Being 15, almost 16, watching as my childhood slowly drifts farther and farther into the ocean of life saddens me. The most I can hope is that one day, someone will find it in that ocean and enjoy it as much as I did.
